Dierks Bentley Makes Tour Opener Zach Top Take Part in an Icy Challenge on the Road & He ‘Took It Like a Champ'

'It's not a summer tour without a cold plunge,' Dierks Bentley wrote on his Instagram on July 8, as he gave fans an insider's glimpse as he welcomed his tour opener Zach Top into what has become a bit of a tradition for a Bentley tour. Previous tour openers who have taken part in Bentley's cold-plunge tradition include Riley Green, Jordan Davis, Parker McCollum and Caylee Hammack. On his current Broken Branches Tour, Bentley dared Top to take a dip in a tub of ice water. Holding up a thermometer that read 29 degrees, Bentley said in the video, 'Let's see how Zach does this.' More from Billboard How Zach Top Is Crafting Country's Future With an Old-School Sound Dolly Parton Puts Songwriting 'On Hold' Following Husband's Death Benny Blanco on Wedding With Selena Gomez: 'It'll Be Chill' 'I need a fresh beer and a cigarette,' Top said, to which Bentley remarked, 'The cigarette might provide some warmth…might spark the heat.' 'That's the strategy here, Dierks,' Top said, later lighting up a fresh cig and getting into an ice-cold tub. Top didn't have to brave the ice alone: Bentley got into his own ice-filled can. Quickly after Top got in, holding his beer and cigarette aloft, Bentley said, 'Do we have an extra bag of ice?' 'No! No more ice in mine!' Top shouted laughing and adding, 'They snuck some warm water in yours.' For his part, Top seemed right at home in the freezing temps (he is a Washington state native, after all). Bentley noted that Top also fared better than some of his previous tour openers. 'I can tell you he's already done more than Riley Green,' Bentley said. 'Get f—ed, Riley Green!' Top said jokingly, before quickly adding, 'Just kiddin' brother, I love you.' 'Parker McCollum, you [did better] than Parker,' Bentley said. 'That doesn't surprise me,' Top said, before Bentley added, 'Travis Denning was in it for about two seconds…Jordan Davis, you've already smoked Jordan Davis.' On Instagram, Bentley also added, 'Zach Top took it like a champ!' Of course, some of those previous openers had their own viewpoints in the post's comments. Denning wrote, 'I did two-ish minutes, thank you very much!,' while Davis wrote, 'I was trying to show respect to you, Dierks Bentley…didn't want to beat you at your own game.' Bentley's Broken Branches tour, which takes its name from his recently-released album, continues July 10 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Country Star Flashes Fresh Abs While Conquering Ice Plunge Bath

Country Star Flashes Fresh Abs While Conquering Ice Plunge Bath originally appeared on Parade. Country star Zach Top participated in an ice plunge challenge with Dierks Bentley and showed off his fresh abs before hopping into the water. 'It's not a summer tour without a cold plunge … @Zach Top took it like a champ! #BrokenBranchesTour #OnTour,' Dierks captioned the Tuesday, July 8, TikTok video. In the clip, Zach, 27, removed his shirt before entering a trash can filled with ice water, and he flashed his freshly drawn-on abs. 'Oh, the abs, dude! I forgot about my abs,' the 'I Never Lie' artist said in shock as his Sharpie-drawn figure was displayed on his stomach. Zach and Dierks, 49, each had their own bin to sit in, which was filled with 29-degree water. The 'Sounds Like the Radio' singer lit a cigarette before taking on the ice plunge challenge, which he completed with ease, even when more ice was added into the water. 'I can tell you, [Zach] has already done more time [in the cold plunge] than Riley Green,' Dierks said. 'Get f–ked, Riley Green. Just kidding bro, I love you,' Zach joked. After the men emerged from the water, the cameraman got a close-up shot of Zach's man-made abs. 'Get you a shot of that, boys,' Zach said as he poked his belly out. Dierks got a kick out of the joke and inquired, 'How do you do that?' The men have enjoyed the summer together, as Zach is one of the few special guests on Dierks' "Broken Branches Tour.' Fans found the video hilarious and shared their favorite parts of the clip in the comments section of the post. 'It was the fresh abs [laughing emoji] great job boys,' one fan wrote, as a second person commented, 'I want to see Zach in his fitness era.' Fans can snag tickets to watch Dierks and Zach perform live on the "Broken Branches Tour' through August 30. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 Country Star Flashes Fresh Abs While Conquering Ice Plunge Bath first appeared on Parade on Jul 9, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jul 9, 2025, where it first appeared.

Dierks Bentley bringing summer tour to Star Lake

Country star Dierks Bentley is bringing his tour to Pittsburgh this summer. Bentley's Broken Branches Tour will stop at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown on Aug. 29. He'll be joined by Zach Top and The Band Loula. Bentley's tour kicks off at the end of May in Austin, Texas, and makes over 30 stops across North America before wrapping up in Clarkston, Michigan, at the end of August. The Star Lake show is his second-to-last stop. "I'm 20(ish) years into doing this, and I've seriously never been more excited about a tour," Bentley said in a press release from Live Nation. "We had Zach out for a few shows last summer, and I knew right away that we had to do more together. He loves the same kind of country music I do, and he's got the bluegrass chops to hang with the best of 'em in a jam. I've got a million ideas for the set list rolling around in my head. It'll be fun to figure out how to make it all come to life with a new album and new production." Over his 20-plus year career, Bentley has 22 No. 1 songs, three CMA Awards and 15 Grammy nominations. The tour announcement comes on the heels of the release of his new single "She Hates Me." Tickets go on sale next Friday, Feb. 28.
