If You Have $15 And You're In The Mood For A New Skincare Treat, Check Out These 25 Reviewer-Favorite Finds
L'Oreal illuminating moisturizer infused with glycerine and shea butter — if you're looking to add a lightweight alternative to your thick foundation and want an extra *glow*, then you're gonna adore this! Reviewers say it's basically like if Glossier's Futuredew and Drunk Elephant's Bronzing Drops had a brilliant, beautiful skincare baby. A paraben-free self-tanner with a mousse texture so you can apply the product evenly (unlike thicker lotions that leave distinct lines behind). Use this if you'd rather not look like you spent all winter hibernating in a cave. And an exfoliating mitten lots of folks love for preventing ingrown hairs, reducing KP, and smoothing out their skin before applying tanning lotion. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Moisturizing Face SPF 60 Serum that'll do its very darndest to protect your skin (without a white cast) no matter how much you're out in the sun this summer. Reviewers rave about using this as a priming moisturizer. Any way to sneak some SPF into your makeup routine is a real win. My pasty self is buying this as we speak. Seriously. Nyx's Lip IV Hydrating Gloss Serum for people who are sick and tired of their lip glosses lacking color, their lip balms lacking interest, and their lipsticks drying out their lips. This acts as a gloss, lip stain, and balm all in one for up to 12 hours of happy, hydrated, and good-lookin' lips! E.l.f.'s Holy Hydration! Thirst Burst Drops, frugal reviewers have excitedly compared to Glow Recipe's $35 Watermelon Dew Drops. If you'd like to see your skin bright and plump with a *chef's kiss* dewy glow, this is gonna be your favorite stuff! It's lightweight enough to wear alone or apply under your makeup. Bless. Elizavecca's carbonated bubble clay mask that'll exfoliate your skin and banish blackheads (according to reviewers). The selfie potential of this face mask alone Gold Bond's firming neck and chest cream — whether you've noticed your neck skin practically hanging on for dear life thanks to that darn gravitational pull or find your décolletage creased in the center from side sleeping, the glycerin and aloe in this formula can give that delicate skin some much-needed hydration, while the salicylic acid can gently exfoliate dead skin cells. Reviewers say patience is worth it with this one, so give your body time to soak it all in and enjoy those results! Cerave eye repair cream, which is cooked up with their famous blend of ceramides (a skincare "secret sauce" if you will) and a healthy dose of hyaluronic acid to boost hydration and niacinamide to help tighten and brighten the appearance of skin. If you're revitalizing your skincare routine, add this to the mix and reduce the appearance of dark circles, under-eye puffiness, *and* fine lines. ~Eye~ love to see it. Or Good Molecules Yerba Mate Wake Up Eye Gel that'll be beloved by people who drink up yerba mate like it's water from the actual fountain of youth. And that's not the only powerful ingredient this gel has to offer! It also boasts three unique forms of hyaluronic acid to moisturize and revitalize the skin under your eyes. There are no dark circles here, my dear! A hyaluronic acid serum — this can save your dry skin thanks to its *intense* hydrating properties that improve a dry complexion's softness, smoothness, and ability to retain moisture. I feel soothed just thinking about it. Etude's Dear Darling Water Tint, with a luxurious vitamin and berry formula, that'll be exactly what you want if you prefer a "no makeup" makeup look that also doesn't FEEL like you have makeup on. This nourishing (and smudge-free!!) mix is comparable to Benefit's Lip Tint and is designed to look super natural. Not only is it super moisturizing, but it doesn't need a harsh wipe or cleanse like other lipsticks, which is a *real* gift to the super thin skin on our lips! The Face Shop's facial foaming cleanser formulated with rice water to help brighten, cleanse, moisturize, and remove your makeup all at once. If you like the idea of having *one* skincare product that does it belongs in your bathroom. A bottle of Bio-Oil, beloved by many a skin-having human, made with a powerful blend of moisturizing oils and vitamins that'll aid in fadin' scars you'd rather have bippity-boppity-boop off your body. A caffeinated butt mask that'll wake up your skincare system if you've been a bit behind on your routine lately. These potent masks are designed to tone and smooth your cheeks with just a 15-minute mask sesh! A tattoo aftercare salve to make both colored and monochrome tattoos look out-of-this-world lovely. This soothes, protects, and enhances the look of your ink, both fresh and faded. A Revlon volcanic stone face roller that'll absorb excess oil on your face as you swipe it away *without* ruining your makeup. Now that this exists, there's no better product to have in your bag when the summer sun brings back your extra oily skin. Oil blotting sheets WISH they were this sexy. Keep your makeup looking great all day with this OG TikTok beauty sensation. Catrice "Instant Awake" Under Eye Brightener (made with a *chef's kiss* mix of hydraulic acid and shea butter), which became a knockout success once reviewers started raving en mass about the product's instant invisible coverage. If you're looking for quick and easy results that suggest you don't even require come to the right brightener. A glazed donut Lanolips lip balm because if it really chaps your hide (my Grandma's favorite phrase, Hi Grandma!) when your lips are chapped during allergy season, then you need to be using a healing combo of lanolin oil and vitamin E to moisturize and nourish that extra thin skin. This is also recommended for cuticles and cracked heels! Olay Super Serum Body Wash (the body wash version of Olay's cult favorite facial Super Serum) — this is so soothing it's basically gonna feel like giving your dry skin a niacinamide-forward bottle of red, with notes of shea butter and a whiff of collagen peptides that'll treat your ~full body~ to 24-hour hydration. Ahhh, drink that all in. PanOxyl Antimicrobial Hydrating Acne Creamy Wash — if you've been hoping their OG foaming wash worked on your sensitive skin, they heard your wish! Not only is this great on sensitive skin, but it'll also help clear up acne-causing bacteria on your whole body! It's designed to clear up existing acne and prevent further breakouts by deep-cleaning your pores. A gift! Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Daily Skin Therapy reviewers with cracked heels, elbows, and knuckles say it works fast without aggravating their sensitive skin. If you want your skin to feel Disney-princess smooth for the first time in forever, then let this stuff give you the 48-hour moisturizing protection you deserve. Rael "Miracle Invisible Spot Cover" Pimple Patches for anyone who thinks the best skincare treat they could possibly give themselves is pimple patches that don't shout, "Look over here at this vacuum-sealed pimple bursting from my face!" These have the same hydrocolloid formula for relieving the redness, swelling, and pus from breakouts *without* the usual show-and-tell. Eos' Shea Butter Vanilla Cashmere body lotion sure to be the TikTok obsession you *too* are about to be obsessed with. This lightweight formula provides a soothing and long-lasting moisture barrier so your skin feels silky. Which is great, as it's what we want lotion to do, but people are also losing it over how great this comparing the scent to $$ brands like Philosophy. Nice. A set of "Golden Glow" under-eye gels made with a 24-karat gold collagen formula that'll ease the look of dark circles and bags under your eyes and make your skin look positively ~golden~.

Drunk Elephant Was Never for Kids
Drunk Elephant has learned the hard way not to play with tweens. On Monday, Japanese beauty conglomerate Shiseido released its first quarter 2025 earnings and revealed that sales at the pastel-hued clean beauty brand it acquired had declined by a staggering 65 percent. It was a major reversal of fortunes for Drunk Elephant, which Shiseido acquired for $845 million in 2019 and rose to fame for spearheading trends in accessibility to high-quality formulations, playful marketing and of course, liquid bronzer. For those who have been closely observing, however, the news is simply confirmation of suspected stumbles. Since it was purchased six years ago, Drunk Elephant grew slowly, then explosively, then shrunk, as it has struggled to hold on to consumers old and new while simultaneously balancing its playful sense of whimsy with its core promise of results-driven skincare. Unforeseen headwinds also set Drunk Elephant back, like overexposure to the weakening Chinese and travel retail segments, or production issues related to its best-selling Bronzing Drops. But the main source of Drunk Elephant's woes is ever-fickle teenagers, who embraced it wholeheartedly during the height of the 'Sephora tween' phase last year before quickly moving on, exposing a gaping wound in its brand identity. Prior to their arrival, the brand was a Sephora darling, quickly becoming its number one skincare brand after its in-store debut in 2015. By 2023, when the teens arrived, clamouring for Drunk Elephant's technicolor packaging, they brought a tailwind with them, helping the brand access a new and skin-curious audience. But turning towards this new customer meant turning away from the brand's core: Millennials and young Gen-Xers, who were drawn to Drunk Elephant for its clean ethos and efficacious skincare. Now, they've come to see the brand as too young for their tastes. 'Drunk Elephant became so strongly associated with Sephora tweens that it lost credibility with older consumers,' explained Casey Lewis, who writes the teen trend newsletter After School. 'Tweens are notoriously fickle consumers. They're not brand loyal. They simply seek out what's new and trending, and when the market is as saturated as this one, consumers will literally never run out of other brands and products to try.' A worsening economic climate has teens — and their parents — trading down from their beloved Protini peptide moisturisers ($69). Even the brand's creator may be moving on: Puck News recently reported that Tiffany Masterson, who founded the brand in 2013, is stepping down from her day-to-day duties as chief creative officer amid Drunk Elephant's sloppiest year yet. Shiseido declined to comment on speculation. The Curse of the Sephora Tweens When the brand launched direct-to-consumer in 2013, it was positioned as clean, highly efficacious skincare with a winking sense of humour. Early hits, like its C-Firma Day Serum ($79), were seen as smart, better-priced alternatives to products like Skinceuticals CE Ferulic ($182). At a time when doctor-led labels were only slowly emerging, and the clean beauty movement was beginning to bloom, Masterson's brand resonated with a group of people who seemed to be waiting for it. By 2019, Drunk Elephant was doing about $120 million in annuals sales. The next year, Shiseido touted its new acquisition as a key to increasing its profitability in the Americas, and went all-in on ramping up Drunk Elephant's distribution — in North American travel retail, in Sephora doors across China and in every Ulta Beauty in the US. As a result, sales nearly doubled, but they've since come back down: 2024 net sales hit just over $135 million, according to Shiseido. The brand's influence in the greater industry has also waned significantly. Social chatter about Drunk Elephant cooled dramatically in the past year, down 72 percent, according to insights firm Spate. The brand peaked in January 2023 on the strength of its hyperviral Bronzing Drops, with interest dropping off at the beginning of last year. Even with a hit product, Drunk Elephant was unable to keep up with demand, which resulted in long sellout periods that allowed dozens of dupes (from Sephora neighbours like Saie, Glow Recipe and Westman Atelier) to fill the void. Since then, consumer interest in liquid bronzer has melted, with searches down 10 percent year on year, noted Addison Cain, Spate's senior insights and marketing lead. Drunk Elephant's strengths remain in its serums and moisturisers, which once defined accessible and effective skincare but have since ceded that authority to competitively priced offerings from the Innbeauty Project or Isla Beauty, and even more affordable offerings from more Gen-Z-focussed brands like Byoma and Bubble. Parents, for their part, are also souring on Drunk. 'I was super turned off that Drunk Elephant was marketing to my tween via TikTok influencers,' said Dora, a woman in her 40s, in The Business of Beauty's Instagram comments section. 'Not only did I refuse to buy her the 70$ [sic] moisturizer her 12 year skin did not need but I wasn't about to buy it for myself just so she could steal it.' Drunk Elephant has never marketed directly to Gen-Z or -Alpha — executives have said so repeatedly — and its products have never been appropriate for young skin. (Its top selling Baby Facial, for instance, contains a cocktail of exfoliating acids that no dermatologist would recommend to a user under 18.) 'We're not going to start to try to get into a dialogue with children about acids and retinol,' founder Masterson told The Business of Beauty in 2024. In her mind, they're like alcoholic offerings on a restaurant menu: 'Parents decide whether or not that's appropriate for their kid.' Still, in casting a too-wide net in reaching its target customer, the message that Drunk Elephant is fun for the whole family rose to the top. Looking ahead, in Shiseido's integrated report for 2024, Barbara Calcagni, president of Nars and Drunk Elephant, stated the conglomerate's intent 'on regaining global momentum by increasing our loyal community and recruiting new customers.' For its own sake, it could aim higher. Sign up to The Business of Beauty newsletter, your complimentary, must-read source for the day's most important beauty and wellness news and analysis.

For money-saving tips, sign up to our Money newsletter here One person entitled their review: 'Sun-kissed goodness' , writing: 'I absolutely love these drops. They're actually the first drops I've ever tried (usually I just apply a normal body self-tanner to the face). 'Because you add drops to a moisturiser every other day or so (I decided to try every day) you get no tan lines on your hairline or under your eyes. 'This makes the tan build and blend effortlessly without being patchy. What results is a beautiful bronze glow that looks great (NO orange) even on my super pale skin. 'The smell of the drops is incredible too. They have a coconut/tropical scent that is lovely and summery. Would absolutely recommend!' Someone else added: 'I recently tried the self tan face drops from Lancaster and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. 'The product is easy to use and delivers a natural-looking tan without any streaks or blotches. 'The drops are lightweight and blend seamlessly into my skincare routine, giving me a healthy, sun-kissed glow. ' It wasn't for everyone, as one person said: 'I didn't notice much of a difference from using this product, perhaps just a slight glow which is ok if that's what you're after from facial tanning drops.' Yet lots of people were massively impressed. Another happy Boots customer wrote: 'As someone who has tried virtually every facial tan on the market I was really impressed with the natural shade of these tanning drops. 'No fake orange cast, just a lovely natural sun kissed glow that is achieved with minimal effort. Better still doesn't break me out or break up my makeup, just disappears into the skin.' Radiance awaits: Indie Lee launches bronzing drops, and we're obsessed
New York Post may be compensated and/or receive an affiliate commission if you click or buy through our links. Featured pricing is subject to change. There's something inherently transformative about a sun-kissed glow — the way it breathes life into tired skin, evokes memories of golden hours, and adds that effortless 'just-back-from-vacation' radiance. But in an era of heightened skin consciousness and growing awareness around sun safety, the quest for a luminous look without the harmful effects of UV exposure has become more than a desire. It's a necessity. Enter Indie Lee's newest glow-giving innovation: Bronzing Drops, which launched April 1 as the latest addition to the brand's much-loved Hints Collection. Advertisement These aren't your average bronzing drops. Created by Indie Lee herself, the clean beauty trailblazer behind the eponymous skincare brand, the formula is born from a deeply personal place. Lee, who lives with autoimmune-related sun sensitivity, developed the drops to serve as a safe and luxurious alternative to sunbathing or self-tanners laden with harsh chemicals. The result? A skin-enhancing serum that delivers sheer, buildable color with the added benefits of nourishing skincare—no streaks, no scent, and absolutely no UV damage. Indie Lee From the first drop, the formula feels like a love letter to your skin. A silky blend of avocado oil, niacinamide, squalane, aloe and vitamin E, it glides on seamlessly, delivering hydration and a healthy glow in equal measure. I have dry and sensitive skin, and I find niacinamide to make my face extremely supple and well-balanced. This is especially great for anyone with hyperpigmentation and redness, especially in the hot, sweltering months. While the bronzing effect is immediate and radiant, the long-term benefits (notably: improved texture, replenished moisture and a more even skin tone) are what elevate this product from makeup to hybrid skincare. Its versatility is where the magic lies. The Bronzing Drops are designed for mixing; simply blend them into your daily moisturizer for a subtle glow, add to your primer for an all-over warmth or dab directly onto the high points of your face for a touch of golden light. Whether you're aiming for a barely-there hint of color or building up to a summer-skin finish, the formula adapts to your mood and routine effortlessly. Aesthetically, the drops are pure Indie Lee: clean, elegant and understated. The packaging echoes the brand's commitment to sustainable luxury, housed in recyclable materials that feel chic yet conscious. It's a small bottle with a big impact, both on the skin and in the growing clean beauty landscape. Indie Lee But this launch is more than just a product debut. Truly, it's a statement of inclusivity, safety and empowerment. For those with sun sensitivity, skin concerns or a simple aversion to sun exposure, the Bronzing Drops offer a safe, effective way to feel radiant and confident. In Lee's words, 'Beauty should never come at the cost of your well-being. These drops are about giving people that feeling of warmth and confidence, no matter the season or circumstance.' For longtime Indie Lee devotees, the Bronzing Drops feel like a natural (and welcome) evolution. The Hints Collection has long been revered for its skin-enhancing formulas that blur the line between skincare and makeup, and these new drops continue that legacy. They're sheer enough to suit all skin tones, yet customizable enough to make every application uniquely your own. I'm all about these drops, and this glow-up is one I'm *sure* you've been waiting for.
