American Millennial Films Herself Eating Pasta in Italy—Then Comes Outrage
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A video capturing how an American tourist did while having pasta at a restaurant in Italy has gone viral on TikTok. The clip was shared by 37-year-old solo traveler Charisse Bruin (@charissesstyles), who lives in Savannah, Georgia, but has been visiting a few countries in June. The viral video, which amassed more than 3.2 million views since it was shared on June 11, was captured in Venice, Italy. "It was my first time, hopefully not the last," Bruin told Newsweek. Text overlaid on the clip simply reads: "Eating pasta in Italy." The video shows Bruin sitting at a table at a restaurant in Murano, a small island of the Venetian Lagoon, tucking into a dish of spaghetti pasta. Bruin later stares down at her dish before nervously grabbing a knife and cutting into the pasta, flashing a slight grin as she puts the knife back down. A caption shared with the post notes: "the noodles are so loooooooooooong." A screenshot from a viral TikTok video in which Charisse Bruin cuts her pasta with a knife at a restaurant in Italy. Around 300 million tourists were reported to have traveled internationally in the first quarter of 2025, around 14 million more than in the same period last year, notes the U.N. World Tourism Organization. Contrary to what some might believe, most Americans have been out of the country at least once, according to a June 2021 Pew Research Center survey. It found that 71 percent of U.S. adults traveled internationally at some point in their lives, while 27 percent have not. The survey found that the degree to which Americans have traveled varies widely. Nineteen percent have been to only one foreign country, while 12 percent have been to two countries. Meanwhile, 15 percent have visited three or four countries and 14 percent have traveled to five to nine. Only 11 percent of Americans were reported have been to 10 or more countries. 'I Wasn't Expecting That' Bruin has been traveling to find a new home in Europe or Central America. She told Newsweek: "I'm a creative entrepreneur and content creator so I have flexibility to move around the world." The content creator said she typically does not use a knife to cut pasta, "but now I definitely know better and realize how serious the pasta cutting is and that it is pasta and not noodles." Viewers on TikTok were amused and shocked by Bruin's pasta-eating technique in the viral clip. Véro said, "Oh. I wasn't expecting that," and Laura wrote: "I am Italian. Don't do it again!!!" Emhyr Van Emreis noted, "i'm offended and i'm not even from Italy," and Chantel posted: "I'm American and don't cut my pasta." User @ur_favofficegirlie wrote, "Girl why you make me scream like that," and @user356746843237 said: "I ain't never seen nobody do that ever Italy or America." Others were less bothered by Bruin's use of the knife, such as Attolini Claudia who wrote: "As Italian, I think people should be free to their spaghetti as they feel most comfortable." AliceB noted: "I'm Italian and I tell you: just eat like you want, you're on vacay so you should relax." Do you have a travel-related video or story to share? Who are the Chiefs' most underrated players heading into the 2025 season?
The Kansas City Chiefs are led by high-profile stars like quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce, and defensive lineman Chris Jones, and have won three Super Bowl titles with their current corps of tested veterans. But, after Kansas City's defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, the Chiefs will rely on up-and-coming talents to buoy their success for another season in 2025. As Mahomes, Kelce, and Jones continue to provide Kansas City's coaching staff with consistency, these seven lesser-known contributors could prove to be the Chiefs' most underrated assets next season: FB Carson Steele Though Steele struggled to find his footing in three starts last season, fans should expect the former UCLA Bruin to push for a spot on Kansas City's roster in 2025. WR Nikko Remigio Remigio has been a constant presence on the Chiefs' 53-man roster and practice squad since 2023 and earned his first start in the NFL last season. TE Jared Wiley Wiley's rookie season was derailed by a torn ACL. While it remains unlikely that Wiley will return in time for Kansas City's regular season debut, fans should expect to see him return to the field in time for the playoffs. OL Hunter Nourzad Kansas City's decision to trade veteran offensive lineman Joe Thuney may give Nourzad the chance he needs to push for playing time next season. DL Felix Anudike-Uzomah Anudike-Uzomah wouldn't usually be considered an "underrated" player, given his status as a former first-round pick. However, the former Kansas State Wildcat is still just 23 years old, and he showed signs of development as a pass-rusher last season on Kansas City's loaded defensive line. LB Cole Christiansen Christiansen is one of the Chiefs' most impactful players on special teams and may be a force his way onto Kansas City's 53-man roster with strong performances in training camp and the preseason. DB Jaden Hicks Hicks enters his second season in the NFL with sky-high expectations. Given veteran safety Justin Reid's departure from Kansas City in free agency, Hicks seems primed to compete for a starting spot in the Chiefs' defense next season.

Too high or too low? Dante Moore's ranking in latest USA Today QB poll turns heads
It is incredibly difficult to replace any elite quarterback in college football, especially one who was in the running for major awards. That is the predicament the Oregon Ducks find themselves in as they navigate life without Heisman Trophy finalist Dillon Gabriel who was drafted by the Cleveland Browns this April. The Ducks will be having a competition to determine their quarterback for 2025, but it is widely expected that Dante Moore will be named the starter. The talented Junior transferred to Oregon after his Freshman season with the UCLA Bruins, as he now looks to follow the legacy of starting-caliber NFL quarterbacks who passed through Eugene. A group of writers at USA Today recently collaborated to compile the 25 best signal callers in the nation and Moore made the cut. He was ranked at No. 19, and the writers gave a detailed explanation, saying, 'That he has Power Four starting experience and a comfort level in this scheme are two major advantages in his corner. Look for Moore to grab this chance and run with it to become the Ducks' latest super-productive starter.' The former Bruin middled in his lone season at UCLA, but that was two seasons ago, and it is widely expected that he has developed greatly since then. This is evidenced by some of the elite talent ranked around him, such as Dylan Raiola at No. 17 and Nico Iamaleava at No. 16. 247 Sports ranked Raiola and Iamaleava second at the position in their respective recruiting classes and are now considered the class of the collegiate level. Moore has the talent and pedigree to be one of the top prospects in all of college football; it just needs to translate into tangible success for him this season. 3 ideal Brad Marchand free-agent landing spots, including the Leafs
BRAD MARCHAND SCORES HIS SIXTH (6TH!) GOAL OF THE SERIES 😱 NHL free agency is just around the corner in 2025, and there is one big-time free agent that will be drawing the interest of multiple teams: Brad Marchand. He was a playoff hero for the Florida Panthers, collecting 20 points during their incredible playoff run. Marchand tallied 10 goals and 10 assists in 23 games with the Panthers. It'll all come down to what the 37-year-old wants at this point of his career -- does he want one final payday? Or does he want to run it back with the Panthers? There will be teams that will want the two-time Stanley Cup champ, so here are three teams that should sign the center: Toronto Maple Leafs The Maple Leafs general manger Brad Treliving said they needed to change their team's 'DNA.' Who would be better to change that DNA than the man who has tortured the Leafs in the playoffs and is 5-0 against Toronto in Game 7s? Toronto will have cap space because it's looking increasingly likely they won't re-sign Mitch Marner. It has been reported that Marchand could be seeking a deal that would be in the 2-year deal range worth around 16 million. It will all come down to what both parties want and how much the Leafs would be wiling to pay someone who is 37 years old. He would be bringing that winning pedigree and the experience of deep playoff runs. The former Bruin has can still produce points and potted 23 goals last season. Florida Panthers Who wouldn't want to live in Florida, enjoy the weather and have a great chance at winning another Stanley Cup? That's what the Panthers will be trying to sell to Marchand in their pitch to the marquee free agent. BRAD MARCHAND SHORTHANDED!! CATS ARE BACK ON TOP!! 😼 #StanleyCup🇺🇸: @NHL_On_TNT & @SportsonMax ➡️ @Sportsnet or stream on Sportsnet+ ➡️ Marchand will have to take pay cut, obviously, but he'll get the benefits of Florida's state tax an a chance to compete for another Stanley Cup. He'll have that third line role with the Panthers if he stays, but that line with Anton Lundell and Eetu Luostarinen was so dominant that they looked like the top trio at times during the postseason. Marchand may still be partying and celebrating his Cup victory in South Beach so he may just end up re-signing with the Stanley Cup Champs. Boston Bruins Does Brad Marchand want to finish his career with the Bruins and still be a productive forward? That's the question the Nova Scotia product has to answer. There shouldn't be any bad blood between the organization and their star forward as they gave him a chance to win another Stanley Cup. Boston goal!Scored by Brad Marchand with 18:47 remaining in the 2nd by David 3Tampa Bay: 0#TBLvsBOS #NHLBruins #GoBolts The Bruins are only a couple years removed from being one of the most dominant teams in the NHL and still have their key pieces in place. In this scenario, Marchand could be reunited with his BFF David Pastrňák, and maybe Boston will add a couple for more players so they can take a shot at Lord Stanley once again. The money will be there and it would be awesome to see a franchise legend finish his career with the Bruins. Dark horse teams to land Brad Marchand: Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins
