Claire Sweeney reveals shock injury as she shares photograph of her very bruised and swollen ankle
Claire Sweeney has detailed her unfortunate health woes as she shared a photograph of her very painful-looking injury. The Coronation Street star, 54, took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday to reveal that she had injured her ankle in a mystery accident. She posted a photograph of her very bruised and swollen ankle, though she did not disclose how serious the injury was or how she did it. In a caption, the Brookside actress admitted that everything had gone 'wrong' for her as she detailed her unfortunate woes. 'Does anyone else have one of those weeks when everything goes wrong. Mine started like this,' she penned. Daily Mail has contacted Claire for further comment. In recent days, Claire has been enjoying a relaxing getaway in Mallorca with pals Linda Robson, Bruno Tonioli, Lesley Joseph and Charlie Brooks. It is not known whether Claire sustained her injury on the trip or whether she is still on her holidays. Loose Women star Linda, 67, took to Instagram on Wednesday - just hours before Claire detailed her health woes - to document their sun-soaked trip. In one photo, she relaxed by the pool alongside former Strictly judge Bruno, 69, and her Birds Of A Feather co-star Lesley, 79. In another, the group all beamed from ear to ear as they enjoyed lunch together. Other snaps saw Linda and Lesley linking arms going down a set of steps while another saw Linda enjoying a drink at the Club Pollenca venue. Alongside the post, she wrote: 'Had an amazing trip to Majorca thanks @jwponstage for a wonderful days with lovely friends.' Claire is well-known for her portrayal of Cassie Plummer in Coronation Street, a role she has undertaken since 2023. She also famously played Lindsey Corkhill on Channel 4's Brookside and has starred in theatre shows including Chicago, Guys and Dolls and Legally Blonde. But in March, Claire parted ways with her agent Melanie Blake after she publicly called for one of her Coronation Street co-stars to be axed from the ITV show. Claire loyally stood by friend Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria in the soap, after Her representative took to social media to say she should be dropped from the show. Back in January, when the show was going through a cash crisis and speculation was rife that cast members were up for the chop, Melanie asked her Twitter followers who they thought should be axed before adding that her top choice would be Samia's character Maria Connor. Samia, 42, who will celebrate 25 years playing Maria Connor in May, was left shocked and upset by the stark comment. While her cast and crew mates were in disbelief that a top talent agent who looks after predominantly female soap stars would start a social media pile on. Daily Mail then revealed that Claire split from Melanie following the tweet and the pair unfollowed each other on social media. A source said: 'Everyone was talking about what Melanie did to Samia - it was the talk of the green room. In January, Melanie asked her Twitter followers who they thought should be axed before adding that her top choice would be Samia's character Maria Connor 'There was a lot of shock and disbelief that someone's agent would behave like that so publicly especially when the show was going through a tricky time. 'Samia is a really popular member of the cast, and is genuinely one of the nicest actresses on the show. She did not deserve any of it.' Claire told Corrie insiders that she dumped Melanie, however, Melanie told MailOnline that it was her decision to part company. She said: 'We made a decision to cut our entire Coronation cast list as we are downsizing the soaps list as I am going to be working in Australia.'

Linda Robson enjoys star-studded holiday with celebrity pals Bruno Tonioli, Lesley Joseph, Claire Sweeney and Charlie Brooks in Mallorca
Linda Robson looked in good spirits as she enjoyed a star-studded holiday with Lesley Joseph, Bruno Tonioli, Claire Sweeney and Charlie Brooks in Mallorca. The Loose Women star, 67, took to Instagram on Wednesday and shared several snaps of her sun-soaked trip wit her pals. Alongside the post, she wrote: 'Had an amazing trip to Majorca thanks @jwponstage for a wonderful days with lovely friends ❤️'. The holiday comes after Bruno reportedly 'quit' Britain's Got Talent as a judge after two seasons on the ITV show. It has now been suggested that singer and boxing star KSI is in discussions to take over the position, according to The Sun. Bruno, 69, who previously judged Strictly Come Dancing, joined BGT in 2023 following David Walliams ' departure. Despite reported efforts from show boss Simon Cowell, 65, to convince him to remain, conflicting commitments with Bruno' Dancing With The Stars gig in the US are said to have made it impossible to continue. A source told the publication: 'Bruno has officially quit Britain's Got Talent and they are hoping that KSI will replace him. 'He absolutely loved being on the panel with Simon, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden but Bruno just can't juggle his schedule with filming. 'There is no bad blood and Bruno is leaving with a smile on his face.' MailOnline has contacted Bruno's representatives for comment. Sources close to the situation have confirmed the line-up for next year is still purely speculation. KSI, who stood in on the most recent series as a guest judge, won viewers hearts on the latest series. Previously addressing chatter about KSI to become a permanent judge, Bruno showed he wasn't phased. He said: 'We're both young, attractive, multi-talented stars known the world over. 'Joking aside, I think KSI is fantastic — a real charming man full of energy. We attended the BRITs together too, which was a fabulous evening.'

Bruno, known for his flamboyant judging style, joined Strictly in 2004 and was a fixture on the panel until 2019. He took a break during the pandemic due to transatlantic travel complications while filming Dancing with the Stars in the United States, and officially stepped down from Strictly in 2022. He was replaced by long-time professional dancer Anton Du Beke, who was later confirmed as a full-time judge in 2022. Bruno's exit was never positioned as permanent, leaving the possibility of a return open. Now his future on Britain's Got Talent appears to be in question due to scheduling conflicts with his U.S. commitments. Bruno was brought onto BGT in 2023 following the departure of David Walliams, a decision personally backed by Simon Cowell despite speculation that comedian Alan Carr would take the role. A television insider said that changes to BGT's 2025 filming timetable have made Bruno's continued presence on the show increasingly difficult. A TV insider said: 'The filming schedule in 2024 meant that Bruno could get away with not being present for filming one week of auditions. 'But it would be virtually impossible for him to miss two weeks, because in the final edit, that equates to half the episodes in the new three-month run of BGT, which will air from February of 2026.' Bruno Tonioli set to QUIT Britain's Got Talent judging gig as two favourites to replace him revealed Last year the show was able to work around Bruno's availability by splitting audition weeks. KSI stood in for him during Blackpool tapings in October, while Bruno returned for auditions in London in January. However, this year all auditions are set to be recorded back-to-back over a single fortnight in October across Blackpool and Birmingham, overlapping directly with Dancing with the Stars filming in the U.S. With his exit looking increasingly likely, attention has turned to potential replacements. KSI, who impressed viewers during last year's Blackpool auditions and during a guest appearance on the live semi-finals, is seen as a leading candidate. Alan Carr, a close friend of Amanda Holden and original favourite to replace Walliams, is also expected to be in the running. 6 Bruno with Motsi, Shirley and Craig 6 Anton replaced Bruno on the judging panel Credit: Rex
