AGILE app to revolutionise agricultural input licensing
Secretariat (Velagapudi): In a step towards modernising agricultural sector, the agriculture department on Wednesday officially launched the AGILE (Agriculture Input Licence Engine) app. The app was unveiled by ex-officio special chief secretary Budithi Rajasekhar at the Secretariat here. Speaking at the launch, Rajasekhar urged all stakeholders involved in the licensing business for agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, and pesticides to mandatorily adopt and effectively utilise the AGILE platform. He described it as an 'updated, developed, and centralised digital input management system.' Director of agriculture S Dilli Rao elaborated on the features of AGILE, calling it a 'new generation comprehensive licensing management system.' He emphasised its role as a paperless, transparent, and standardised system. The AGILE platform contains real-time monitoring dashboard to provide officials and policymakers with the ability to monitor licensing status directly, advanced reports and analytics offering detailed reports for planning, administrative oversight, and scheme review, supply chain management to enable direct monitoring of input distribution and fosters coordination among manufacturers, dealers, and retailers, E-Governance integration to incorporate Aadhaar-based authentication, SMS/email notifications, Digilocker integration, payment gateways, and GIS mapping for the dealer network, user-friendly online portals to provide convenience for farmers, dealers, and organisations to apply online and check the status of their licenses. Several high-ranking officials from various departments, including K Srinivasulu, director of horticulture, T Vijayakumar, (retired), executive vice-chairman, Rythu Sadhikara Samstha, Dr K Gopal, vice-chancellor, Horticulture University, Dr Sarada Jayalakshmi, vice-chancellor, ANGRAU Ranga University attended the programme. Agriculture joint directors V D V Krupadas, Vijayabharati and Balasubrahmanyam, DAO Vijayakumari and ADA Prem Shekhar coordinated the programme. Rajasekhar issued the first digital fertiliser manufacturing licence to Adhya Agro Chemicals, Nadendla mandal of Palnadu district, a women-led dealership representing several districts.

State govt launches AGILE platform to digitise agri input licensing
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh department of agriculture launched the AGILE (Agriculture Input License Engine) platform today at the secretariat, aiming to revolutionise the issuance of licenses for agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, and pesticides. The platform was formally inaugurated by Budithi Rajasekhar, executive officer and special chief secretary (Agriculture & Cooperation), who urged all stakeholders to actively use the system for a more transparent and efficient licensing process. AGILE is a centralised, paperless, and digital licensing system developed to enable real-time monitoring, streamline applications, and enhance accountability across the state. Speaking at the launch event, Sri S. Dilli Rao, IAS, Director of Agriculture, explained that AGILE is designed as a single-window digital interface for farmers, dealers, manufacturers, and regulatory bodies. The platform not only simplifies the application and renewal processes but also supports inventory management and supply chain integration. Features like Aadhaar-based authentication, online payments, SMS alerts, and DigiLocker integration make it an efficient and user-friendly tool for both administrators and users. During the event, the first digital fertilizer manufacturing license under AGILE was issued to a woman entrepreneur from Palnadu district, symbolising the platform's commitment to empowering grassroots-level stakeholders. Senior officials from horticulture, agriculture universities, and Rythu Sadhikara Samstha (RySS) were also present at the launch, emphasising the importance of inter-departmental collaboration.

Solar power for all govt offices: Minister
Eluru: Minister for Agriculture Kinjarapu Atchannaidu said that all government offices in the state will be provided with solar power. He inaugurated a 50-kilowatt solar rooftop system installed at a cost of Rs 35 lakh at the local agricultural market committee yard on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the state government is promoting solar power. He said that solar power is being installed free of cost for scheduled castes and tribes and additional subsidy is being provided to the backward classes. He said that each legislator has set a target to provide solar power to 10,000 houses in his constituency. The minister said that solar panels will be installed in the offices of agricultural and allied departments, market committees and farmers' markets in a phased manner. He said that Eluru market yard is a big market yard like the Mirchi yard in Guntur and it receives a lemon crop in abundance. He said that the solar power installed at the Eluru market yard at a cost of Rs 35 lakh will save up to Rs 60,000 every month in electricity. Based on this calculation, the investment in solar power will be recovered in 2-3 years, and therefore, the minister appealed to all the people to install solar power in their homes.
