‘World's most beautiful' superyacht, garage for 500 cars and his own private airline – meet Royal Ascot's richest owner
IN this world there are the rich, the super-rich… and then there are the having-your-own-private-airline rich. Where millions won't do and instead we're talking billions - hundreds and hundreds of them. 8 The tiny figures of the crew can just about be made out on Al Lusail, the awesome £370million superyacht dubbed 'the world's most beautiful' and owned by Royal Ascot owner and head of Wathnan Racing, the Emir of Qatar Credit: Getty 8 The astonishing vessel is one of the most luxurious in the world and much about remains a closely-guarded secret Credit: Splash 8 The helicopter landing pad sits atop the bow of the ship, while the four decks at the back provide ample viewing space Credit: Splash 8 Few people in the world could claim to have their own airline - but the Emir of Qatar does and he counts 14 private jets among his haul of planes 8 Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will aim for more riches at Royal Ascot with his superstar squad of horses Credit: AFP That's where Sheikh Tamin Bin Hamad Al-Thani, better known as the Emir of Qatar, comes in. And nowhere will his seemingly limitless buying power - his family are said to be worth £250billion - be on bigger display this week than at Royal Ascot. In racing terms, Sheikh Tamim is a relatively new kid on the block compared to the established old guard. The likes of Godolphin, owned by the But in just three years, the Emir, with his impressive Wathnan Racing operation, has made an almighty splash - and got the veterans very, very worried. They won the Gold Cup - Ascot's feature race - at their first attempt with Courage Mon Ami in 2023. At last year's Ascot they had four winners. And they haven't slowed down since, their awesome buying power - highlighted by the recent massive-money purchase of awesome sprinter Lazzat - showing they have money to burn. Most read in Horse Racing But it's not just on the racecourse that this unimaginable wealth is on display. He might not fancy mooring it up in the Thames, but The Sheikh owns a staggering £370million superyacht called Al Lusail. Said to 'put the super in superyacht' and hailed as 'the most beautiful in the world', it is believed to boast 'several' indoor pools. The 400ft vessel has its own helicopter landing pad and its 'extraordinary' decor was put together by March and White, the award-winning interior designers based in London. 8 The Emir has entertained Donald Trump at his opulent palace in Doha Credit: AFP 8 The Emir's car collection - which is believed to live in a garage big enough for 500 motors - is said to feature an ultra-rare Bugatti Divo, of which only 40 were ever made Credit: Reuters Inside you'll also find the ship's own lift, movie theatre and beauty salon - enough to keep the yacht's 36 guests over 18 bedrooms and 56 crew happy. When they're at home the ruling family of Qatar reside in their £1bn Royal Palace - dubbed a 'golden architectural marvel'. It's actually 15 palaces in one, with a garage big enough for 500 cars, a collection which is said to include a £6m Bugatti Divo, of which only 40 were ever made. There are also Bugatti Veyrons and Chirons, a LaFerrari Aperta, Lamborghini Centenario - you name it, it's probably there. The ultimate mode of transport, though, is Qatar Amiri Flight, the Emir's own private airline. With 14 planes in all, it serves only the royal family and is believed to have among its fleet three Boeing 747-8 jets, each costing over £300m. Don't be surprised to see some artwork on there either. The Qatari Royal Family's collection is, you guessed it, worth hundreds of millions. And among their most significant pieces of art is one of Paul Cezanne's 'The Card Players' paintings, bought for £260m in 2011 - the most amount of money ever paid for a painting at the time. There are also works by Andy Warhol and Mark Rothko worth well north of £100m. All in all, it makes the £567,100 Lazzat would win with victory in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes on Saturday look insignificant. But as they say - nothing beats the feeling of a winner! 8 Paul Cezanne's 'The Card Players' painting, bought for £260m in 2011 by the Qatari Royal Family, was the most amount of money ever paid for a painting at the time Credit: Getty FREE BETS - GET THE BEST SIGN UP DEALS AND RACING OFFERS Commercial content notice: Taking one of the offers featured in this article may result in a payment to The Sun. Police Say Las Vegas Couple Defrauded Investors of Over $57 Million in Exotic Car Sales Scheme
A Las Vegas couple has been accused of defrauding investors of more than $57 million in an elaborate exotic car scam. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the couple persuaded people to invest in extremely high-end exotic cars and boats that would be sold overseas for massive profits. However, an investigation found that these overseas buyers apparently didn't exist — and now the couple is facing 75 fraud-related charges. According to police, Jong Rhee, 45, and Neelufar Rhee, 34 ran their scam through their two businesses, Twisted Twins Motorsports, LLC and Lusso Auto Spa. And some of the cars involved are far more exotic than Porsche 911s or Chevrolet Corvettes: LVMPD posted a video of some of the recovered cars involved, with highlights including a Bugatti Divo and a Chiron, a Pagani Huayra, and a one-of-10 Apollo Intensa Emozione. Just these four cars alone are worth eight figures. However, the couple allegedly promised 10-figure returns. Las Vegas-based news outlet KLAS reports that the suspects told the victims that wealthy clients in Singapore were lined up to buy these high-end vehicles for approximately $2.5 billion. The couple claimed that they could sell a $526,000 Rolls Royce Spectre for $7.5 million, and that a $3.9 million boat would bring $13.5 million in Singapore — but the overseas buyers didn't exist, according to police. The Vegas couple is accused of taking the funds that were supposed to be used for these overseas transactions and instead used them for personal gain. Last summer, the Rhees reportedly spent $60,000 chartering a private plane to Missouri for a boating trip; that same boat was allegedly also one of the assets that was supposed to be sold overseas. KLAS reports that money woes could have been the motivation behind the scam. The couple's financial situation was reportedly bleak as of last year: Jong Rhee allegedly decided to use their last $10,000 to buy into a World Series of Poker event. When the gamble didn't pay off, the police claim that's when they turned to fraud. Jong Rhee and Neelufar Rhee each face 75 counts of fraud related charges such as racketeering, forgery, theft, and money laundering. Police believe that there may be additional victims of this scheme that have not been identified. They are asking for anyone that has done business with this couple to contact them by email at criminalintel@ You Might Also Like You Need a Torque Wrench in Your Toolbox Tested: Best Car Interior Cleaners The Man Who Signs Every Car

Michael Jordan's record-breaking NBA salary has been adjusted for inflation and the final figure is mind-blowing
Identifying basketball's greatest of all time is a debate with some mileage but when it comes to huge NBA salaries, one man stands alone. Michael Jordan is a sporting icon and one of the NBA's most successful players ever. Now 62, Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships in seven years in the 1990s. Chicago Bulls baseball caps became a fashionable accessory around the world and Jordan was the man at the forefront of their fame, collecting the MVP award for all six of their finals triumphs. MJ was named MVP for the NBA overall on five occasions. He was, and is, a big deal. He was handsomely rewarded for his renown and his impact too, and it'll be a while before anyone's NBA salary catches up. According to Basketball Reference, Jordan received a salary of $33,140,000 in 1997-98. That's a healthy chunk in anyone's money but it amounts to an unbelievable $65,019,257 in 2025, almost double the book value of his Jordan's actual salary 27 years ago. A player receiving the same salary today could buy 14 Bugatti Divo cars and have enough left over to last a lifetime of leisure. Nobody is quite on that level. The highest paid player in the NBA for the past eight seasons has been Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry, whose salary is $55,761,216 in 2024-25. Curry is also the third-highest career earner in the history of the NBA behind LeBron James and Kevin Durant. The 37-year-old is projected to pull in the top salary for the next two seasons before Joel Embiid, the 31-year-old Philadelphia 76ers center, takes over in 2027-28 with a seasonal salary of $64,302,336. But it's in the following season that Embiid will pick up a salary higher than Jordan's inflation-adjusted per-season fortune. Embiid's projected salary for 2028-29 is $69,065,472, which is 15 Bugatti Divo territory. It's unlikely that Embiid's salary even then will keep up with MJ once inflation is applied and the Bulls legend could even stay top of the pile when Jayson Tatum breaks the $70m barrier in 2029-30. After his glory years with the Bulls, Jordan ended his playing career with the Washington Wizards and went on to yet more successes in business and sports administration.

Garage-Built 3D-Printed Supercar Proves the Future of DIY Automotive Engineering
⚡️ Read the full article on Motorious A Canadian car enthusiast has taken DIY automotive manufacturing to the next level by 3D-printing an entire supercar in his garage. The project, based on a Bugatti Divo, highlights the growing potential of 3D printing in vehicle design and construction. The builder, a follower of the YouTube channel KitCar, used digital files provided by brothers Rustem and Aidar, who specialize in 3D-printed car projects. Their website offers detailed step-by-step instructions, allowing individuals to construct their own supercar replicas from scratch. Each section of the Bugatti replica was printed separately and then bonded together using industrial-grade adhesives. The body was reinforced with fiberglass, ensuring durability while maintaining the striking appearance of the original multimillion-dollar hypercar. The finished product showcases an impressive level of detail, from sculpted aerodynamic curves to an uncanny resemblance to the real Bugatti Divo. 3D printing has revolutionized numerous industries, from aerospace to construction, and now it is making waves in the automotive world. The technology has been used for printing individual car parts, but fully constructing a functional vehicle using this method remains rare. Projects like this, however, demonstrate how at-home builders can bypass traditional manufacturing constraints and bring their dream cars to life. The KitCar channel has also featured other ambitious builds, including 3D-printed versions of a Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, a Lamborghini Huracán, and even a full-scale Lightning McQueen. While these projects require significant time and effort, the creators insist that no prior expertise is needed—just patience and a passion for engineering. With 3D printing continuing to evolve, the concept of home-built supercars may no longer be just a futuristic fantasy, but a growing reality for enthusiasts worldwide.
