Broncos roster: Caden Prieskorn (No. 86) competing for spot at tight end
Broncos Wire's 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at rookie tight end Caden Prieskorn, No. 86.
Before the Broncos: Prieskorn (6-6, 246 pounds) is a former high school quarterback who spent three seasons at Memphis (2020-22) and then transferred to Ole Miss, where he played from 2023-2024. At Memphis, Prieskorn was nominated for the Burlsworth Award(best college walk-on player) in 2022, and All-AAC First Team by PFF.
Prieskorn totaled 57 receptions for 850 yards and seven touchdowns in 23 games with the Rebels. In 2023, Prieskorn was named the 2023 Peach Bowl Offensive MVP, along with being named a Third-Team All-SEC by College Football Network. In 2024, Prieskorn was named an honorable mention All-SEC tight end and earned an invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl. He totaled 57 receptions for 850 yards and seven touchdowns in 23 games with the Rebels.
Broncos tenure: Prieskorn originally signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent this spring, but he was cut after minicamp. He then landed in Denver last month. Prieskorn will make his Bronco debut during preseason next month.
Chances to make the 53-man roster: Long shot. Evan Engram and Adam Trautman are locked into the top two tight end spots, and hybrid tight end/fullback Nate Adkins is likely safe as well. That could leave Lucas Krull, seventh-round draft pick Caleb Lohner and Prieskorn competing for one final spot. If Prieskorn doesn't end up on the 53-man roster, he could be a candidate for the practice squad in 2025.
