The Top 10 TV Friend Groups We Want To Be In

Some friend groups exist only on screen, but their impact? Very real. Here's my very biased and emotionally driven ranking of the best fictional friend groups to ever grace our screens — and yes, I still daydream about being invited out with them. 1. The Sex and the City Girls (Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha) Four women. One city. Endless cosmos and complicated dating lives. They were messy, iconic, loyal, and stylish. They talked about love like it was a language, and friendship like it was their life source. If you say you don't want to be the mysterious fifth friend who occasionally shows up, drops one-liners, and gets a little bit of too honest sex advice, you're lying. 2. The New Girl Loft Crew They're chaotic. They're dysfunctional. They make up drinking games and still act like college students well into adulthood. That's my idea of perfection. 3. The Sex Education Squad (Otis, Eric, Maeve, and Co.) They talked through every weird high school moment and did activism. Talk about getting yourself a group that can do both! Also, Eric deserves his own spinoff. 4. The Plastics — but only if you're Cady Heron by the end of the movie Let's be real: We all kind of wanted the Burn Book experience just a little. You'd learn the hard way, but you'd come out stronger and even better dressed. That is a win in my (Burn) book. 5. The Friends Friends Yes, they were always at that coffee shop. Yes, the show hasn't aged perfectly. But yes, we all still low-key want to be invited to Thanksgiving at Monica's. Found family vibes, but with way too many love triangles. Can't guys and girls be just friends? 6. The iCarly Crew They basically invented the content creator lifestyle before it was cool (like, it's giving original Vlog Squad). They had a web show, chaotic energy, and deep ride-or-die ties. Spencer was an honorary member, obviously. 7. The High School Musical Gang (Wildcats forever) They broke into song and dance during lunch. And no one questioned it. That's support. I would harmonize in the hallway if it meant being accepted. Not to mention, no friend group at my high school was ever that good-looking, just saying. 8. The One Tree Hill Crew They were always falling in love, falling apart, and falling into emotional monologues at the River Court, but through it all, they showed up for each other. Whether you were Team Peyton, Team Brooke, or Team "Lucas just needs to journal," you know this friend group defined this era of television, down to the iconic theme song. 9. The Euphoria Girls — as long as you have insurance... Toxic? Yes. Entertaining? Also yes. You'll cry, fight, and maybe lose a shoe in the process, but you'll look great and have a better time doing it. 10. The Gossip Girl Inner Circle (Blair, Serena, Nate, Chuck, and Dan…kinda) Was it toxic? Absolutely. But did it look good? Every single time. This was friendship with trust funds, betrayal, brunch, and drama. No one trusted each other, but they needed each other. Besides, what else can make a friend group tighter than one common enemy? XOXO, forever. Would you want to be in any of these friend groups? Let me know in the comments!

Trump Sends ‘Mean Girls'-Style Sharpie Note to Jerome Powell

President Donald Trump escalated his war on Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell by sending him a Sharpie note. It comes as the president has made numerous personal attacks on the Fed chair for not cutting interest rates as quickly as the president wants. The note was revealed by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday in a new briefing where she held up a chart with the president's message written over it. 'Jerome - You are, as usual, 'too late." You have cost the USA a fortune and continue to do so - You should lower the rate - by a lot!" the note read. It went on 'Hundreds of billions of dollars being lost! No inflation.' The president's note was written in Sharpie on a chart that showed central bank rates. It was signed at the end by the president. 'I bring to you original correspondence from the President of the United States to our Fed Chair Jerome Powell, as the president has consistently stated, the American economy is booming,' Leavitt declared at the briefing. Leavitt rattled off a series of interest rates from around the world on the chart before reading the president's Sharpie note aloud to reporters. The style of the note, written in marker with exclamation marks and a clear sense of frustration, gave off strong Mean Girls movie vibes, as there is a moment in the film where Regina George angrily writes a nasty note in the 'Burn Book.' While George's message was about herself in a fictional movie about the horrors of high school girl friendships, there were similarities in note style. Trump's note on Monday was the latest in a series of attacks the president has made on Powell over several weeks. The criticism escalated over the weekend. 'He's a bad person,' Trump said of Powell in a Fox News interview that aired on Sunday. 'We're going to get somebody into the Fed who's going to be able to lower the rates.' Trump has been trying to pressure Powell, who he nominated for chair during his first term, to lower the Fed's short-term benchmark rate, but Powell has refused to bow to the pressure. The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) left the federal funds rate unchanged this month at 4.25 percent to 4.50 percent at its fourth consecutive meeting. Trump has blasted Powell in a series of appearances and in social media posts. He has called him 'Mr. Too Late' and even 'stupid.' The president has held off on firing the Federal Reserve chair outright and installing a new loyalist, but even if he did, Powell cannot override the FOMC vote or unilaterally cut the rate. Powell's term leading the U.S. Central Bank is up next year, so there has been a lot of speculation over who Trump will pick to replace him. One person who said he would accept the job if it was offered was Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The president even mused earlier this month that he would name himself head of the Fed and claimed he would do a better job.

America is gonna run out of popcorn: Savage internet memes troll Musk and Trump during online meltdown

The internet was savage watching the explosive public split between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk - and used the opprotunity to blast memes across social media. 'Elon finally found a way to make Twitter fun again,' former senior Obama adviser and podcast host Dan Pfeiffer summarized in a post on X. The whole world got a front-row seat to the spectacle between the former 'first buddy' and the president Thursday, when they traded blows on their respective social media platforms, Truth Social and X. It began with Musk's critique of Trump's 'big, beautiful bill,' and spiraled into a mudslinging match between the two billionaires. 'BREAKING: Vladimir Putin has offered to negotiate a peace deal between President Trump and Elon Musk,' X user Amuse wrote. Social media users, including Democrats, have been sharing hilarious memes of the breakup, drawing inspiration from Real Housewives to Mean Girls. One user shared a meme from Mean Girls of Musk writing about Trump in the 'Burn Book.' Democratic Rep. Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico shared a meme about the blow-up: 'Real Housewives of Pennsylvania Ave,' the congresswoman posted. Another prominent X account that Musk often interacts with shared a photo of the president with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. 'Your name is Elon now,' it said. Others poked fun at Vice President JD Vance. 'Who gets JD Vance in the divorce?' said another. Someone else shared a photo of the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded outside the Trump hotel in Las Vegas on January 1. 'It was foretold,' the post said. The spat culminated in a bombshell claim from Musk that the president was 'in the Epstein files.' Trump had previously taken the high road on the issue. Earlier, during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the president told reporters he was 'very disappointed,' with his former 'first buddy.' Trump was asked about his former adviser's recent comments against the spending bill working its way through Congress. 'Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than anyone... and he only developed a problem when he found out I would cut the EV (electric vehicle) mandate... And it really is unfair,' he replied. 'Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,' Musk shot back on X minutes later. 'Such ingratitude,' he added in a separate post. The White House took a more diplomatic tone. 'This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted,' Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. 'The President is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again.' Trump appears to have thrown cold water on the notion that he and Musk could speak Friday. In a call with ABC News, the president dismissed Musk as 'the man who has lost his mind' and said he was 'not particularly' interested in reconciliation.

From ‘Mean Girl' Trump to Musk leading a Russian coup – internet's best reactions to the explosive Don v Elon clash

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ELON Musk sent the internet into a crazy spiral on Thursday as he publicly lashed out at former friend Donald Trump on X. The US president was quick to hit back at the Tesla boss with several bitter barbs of his own as their feud suddenly reignited in front of the world. Trump hit back on Truth Social saying Elon was "wearing thin" around the White House. He later warned the US government could end all federal contracts with Musk's companies if the insults continued to fly. Here are social media's best reactions to the intense clash between the two mega powers. Mean girl Trump Famous 2004 film Mean Girls has managed to create a long lasting legacy online with the Trump/Musk feud now even being linked to the movie. The picture shared online is taken from the perspective of Musk who is looking at the iconic "Burn Book" from the film. 15 Trump's face has been added to the page in place of Mean Girl's villain Regina George Credit: X Trump's face has been added to the page in place of Mean Girl's villain Regina George. The text above the image is the exact same as in the movie which says: "This girl is the nastiest skank b***h I've ever met. Do NOT TRUST HER. She is a fugly s***!" Trump's Stalinist purge One of the quickest memes to emerge from the explosive fallout was an expertly AI generated image of a steely-faced Trump dressed as Soviet tyrant Joseph Stalin. A smiley Musk was stood next to him. But a second image posted alongside it showed Musk suddenly disappearing from the picture. The two-part joke was hinting at a possible "Great Purge" being ordered by Trump similar to what Stalin ordered in the mid 1930s. 15 A clever AI generated image portrayed Trump as Soviet tyrant Joseph Stalin and Musk as one of his purged officials Credit: X 15 The real picture of Stalin which was edited with the faces of Musk and Trump Credit: Alamy The purge - also known as the Great Terror - is a damning historical period which saw Stalin axe dozens of his political allies in the Soviet Union. Any threat to Stalin's regime was made to go through sham trials which resulted in them being removed from any form of power. The government claimed they were getting rid of suspected party dissenters. The meme was posted shortly after Trump announced on Truth Social that he in fact asked Musk to leave his role within the US government. The president said the SpaceX chief was "wearing thin" and "went crazy" during his final weeks close to the White House. Musk's Russian-style coup Musk is a famously persuasive man with him even claiming on Thursday he is the main reason why America re-elected Trump. This created a whole load of hilarious comments and tweets on X as some jokingly ordered Musk to launch a coup on Washington. One of the viral posts featured an image of the billionaire in a khaki jacket pointing at the camera. 15 One of the viral posts featured an image of the billionaire in a khaki jacket pointing at the camera Credit: X 15 The pose was an echo of Wagner leader Prigozhin when he launched a botched coup on Moscow 15 Musk claimed on Thursday he is the main reason why America re-elected Trump Credit: X The pose and outfit had a striking similarity to Wagner group leader Prigozhin who launched a botched coup against Putin by marching on Moscow. It was followed by the caption: "Reports that Muskovite forces led by Elon Musk are preparing to march on Washington." The term Muskovite has been used before by Russian state television. In October 2023, they hailed the world's richest man after he posted a meme of himself ridiculing Ukraine for asking for US aid during the war. In response, Kremlin TV presenter Olga Skabeyeva described the tech mogul as "Elon the Muscovite" on Russia-1. Billionaire for billionaire As Trump and Musk's relationship capitulated before the internet's eyes, many users jumped at the chance to speculate on a potential replacement to join Trump's inner circle. The leading candidate was Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The Zuck and Elon already share a number of similarities. They both sit at the very top of the official world's rich list with Musk at number one and Zuckerberg sat just behind in second. 15 Some speculated that Trump may simply replace Musk with Mark Zuckerberg Credit: X 15 Zuckerberg and Musk were joined by fellow billionaires Jeff Bezos and Sundar Pichai at Trump's inauguration ceremony Credit: AP And both men own major social media platforms. Musk famously acquired Twitter and transformed it into X whereas Zuckerberg created Facebook, now Meta, in 2004. Trump already has a growing relationship with Zuckerberg after Meta donated $1m (£786,000) to an inauguration fund for the president. The pair also shared dinner together at Mar-a-Lago in November. But much like with Musk, the two have shared a turbulent past. In 2017, Trump hit out at Facebook for being "anti-Trump" after the platform banned his account following the Capitol riots on January, 6, 2021. Cybertruck conundrum Two of the most liked memes circulating around the internet on Thursday featured Tesla Cybertrucks. The powerful beasts are the brainchild of Musk and his remarkable staff at Tesla factories across the US. But for one unlucky motorist his Cybertruck may be forced to stay in the garage forever after the public spat. An image shows a parked up Tesla with the American flag emblazoned on the side in truly patriotic fashion. 15 15 Musk even joined Trump back on the stage where the president was shot Credit: AFP But superimposed over the top is the image of a defiant Trump just seconds after he was shot in the ear at a rally in Pennsylvania last year. The legendary photo shows the bleeding Republican with his fist raised high in the air as secret service agents crowd around him. The moment is notable in regards to the Trump/Musk feud as the assassination attempt is believed to be one of the main reasons why Musk joined team Trump. 15 The second Tesla related meme shows the burning wreckage of a Cybertruck sat next to Trump Hotel in Las Vegas Credit: X It has even been revealed that Trump is yet to remove the Cybertruck he was gifted by Musk from the White House parking garage. The second Tesla related meme shows the burning wreckage of a Cybertruck sat next to Trump Hotel in Las Vegas. The image is taken from the tragic New Year's Day incident when former soldier Matthew Livelsberger shot himself in the head just seconds before blowing up the Tesla. The X user suggests the flaming Cybertruck is comparable to how Musk has ignited a fiery feud with Trump.
