The deal keeps the playmaker in San Francisco, providing some familiarity on the roster and hope after a disappointing 2024 season and significant roster turnover. Will Compton and Taylor Lewan of "Bussin' With The Boys" first announced Kittle's deal which makes him the highest paid tight end in history. While the deal doesn't assure that he will be a 49er his entire career, as he has stated is his dream, it does put him in the Niner's 10-Year Club. He would join 51 other former Niner's players that were with the club for 10 consecutive seasons. Kittle, 31, will remain part of the center of the 49ers' offense. Despite the team's struggles in 2024, he delivered 82 receptions, 1,050 yards, and eight touchdowns, earning his sixth Pro Bowl selection and his fifth All-Pro team honor. The extension with the guaranteed money should lower Kittle's cap hit that was on the books at $22.085 million for the season. This should free up money needed to bargain a deal with quarterback Brock Purdy who is eligible for an extension. After a tough year, this move should hopefully bring happiness to the Faithful. With Kittle locked in, the 49ers are poised to regroup and get back to winning.
