Quinta Brunson says she ‘hated' the public aspect of her divorce from ex Kevin Anik
Quinta Brunson spoke out about about her recent split from ex-husband Kevin Anik, mainly airing her grievances about the private matters going more public than she would like. Brunson, the comedic mastermind and star of ABC's 'Abbott Elementary,' spoke candidly to Bustle about news of her divorce spreading before she was ready to address it herself. In March, several outlets including The Times reported that Brunson had filed a petition to divorce Anik after three years of marriage. 'I remember seeing people be like, 'She announced her divorce,'' she said, adding, 'I didn't announce anything.' The Emmy-winning Buzzfeed alumna and Bustle's latest cover star added: 'I think people have this idea that people in the public eye want the public to know their every move. None of us do. I promise you.' Brusnon also lamented how other details about her private life — including a recent real estate purchase — can be revealed through public records information. 'I hated that,' she tells Bustle. 'I hate all of it.' The 35-year-old comedian, who has also starred in 'A Black Lady Sketch Show' and 'Big Mouth,' has kept most of her personal life private, mainly using her Instagram page to celebrate professional milestones and promote her Emmy-winning series. She announced her engagement to Anik in July 2020 on Instagram but kept their marriage mostly offline. When she won multiple prizes at the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2022 for 'Abbott Elementary,' her husband was among the people she thanked. While accepting the Emmy for writing for a comedy series, Brunson dubbed her husband 'the most supportive man I've ever known.' Brunson and Anik married in October 2021 and do not share any children. She cited 'irreconcilable differences' in her petition, which did not specify when the couple separated. Her petition also said she and Anik entered a post-nuptial agreement regarding the division of their assets but did not disclose those terms. Brunson also spoke about setting her own boundaries with devoted but outspoken 'Abbott Elementary' fans when it comes her private life. 'Those are invisible voices that aren't in your home,' she told the outlet, later adding, 'When it comes to matters of your personal life and decisions you make, you do have to tune it out.' Elsewhere in the interview, Brunson reflected on her ascent from beloved online personality to Hollywood darling and the publicity that comes with it — for better or worse. 'Even if you don't give a lot, people want whatever they can get, and will take whatever they can get,' she said.

Netflix star attends F1 red carpet after being cut from film
Controversy has erupted after it emerged that the star of Netflix hits Bridgerton and Sex Education, Simone Ashley, has had all her lines cut from the final edit of the Brad Pitt-led blockbuster F1, directed by Joseph Kosinski. Originally slated to star in a minor love interest role, Ashley's part in the film – which lands in Australian cinemas on Thursday – has reportedly been reduced to a lineless cameo, echoing a similar treatment of The Acolyte and The Good Place actor Manny Jacinto by Kosinski in the director's 2022 film Top Gun: Maverick. Ashley attended the London premiere of the film this week despite her treatment in the final edit, but has yet to make an official statement. In 2022, when Jacinto was cut from Top Gun: Maverick he told GQ that it 'wasn't shocking' for him to have been cut from the film. 'It kind of fuels you because at the end of the day, Tom Cruise is writing stories for Tom Cruise. It's up to us — Asian Americans, people of colour — to be that [for ourselves]. We can't wait for somebody else to do it. If we want bigger stories out there, we have to make them for ourselves,' Jacinto told the outlet. F1 co-star Damson Idris told Buzzfeed this week that Ashley's role 'was more of a cameo ... it was sort of a love interest situation that happened. But, as with many movies, you know the director's cut. I mean I've been cut out of movies, and these things happen.' Loading Idris said he was set to star alongside Ashley again soon, and that the actress would work with Kosinski in a future project. Kosinski told People that actors getting cut from final edits 'happens on every film' and lauded Ashley's ability, saying 'she's an incredible talent, incredible actress, incredible singer, and I would love to work with her again.' The news has caused controversy online with many saying that Kosinski's removal of Ashley, and earlier Jacinto, was a race issue, while others argue that this is a normal part of the filmmaking process.

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Looking for a different day? A new NYT Connections puzzle appears at midnight each day for your time zone – which means that some people are always playing 'today's game' while others are playing 'yesterday's'. If you're looking for Wednesday's puzzle instead then click here: NYT Connections hints and answers for Wednesday, June 11 (game #731). Good morning! Let's play Connections, the NYT's clever word game that challenges you to group answers in various categories. It can be tough, so read on if you need Connections hints. What should you do once you've finished? Why, play some more word games of course. I've also got daily Strands hints and answers and Quordle hints and answers articles if you need help for those too, while Marc's Wordle today page covers the original viral word game. SPOILER WARNING: Information about NYT Connections today is below, so don't read on if you don't want to know the answers. Today's NYT Connections words are… BOWLING WRESTLING MISSING DISHING SPOONING SIRING BUZZING SEWING LORDING SPILLING HUGGING DOCTORING SNUGGLING ACUPUNCTURING WHISPERING CUDDLING What are some clues for today's NYT Connections groups? YELLOW: Two become one GREEN: Tittle tattling BLUE: Think words that rhyme with weedle and sin PURPLE: Begin with honorifics Need more clues? We're firmly in spoiler territory now, but read on if you want to know what the four theme answers are for today's NYT Connections puzzles… What are the answers for today's NYT Connections groups? YELLOW: GETTING COZY GREEN: GOSSIPING BLUE: ENGAGING IN AN ACTIVITY WITH PINS OR NEEDLES PURPLE: STARTING WITH TITLES Right, the answers are below, so DO NOT SCROLL ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THEM. The answers to today's Connections, game #732, are… YELLOW: GETTING COZY CUDDLING, HUGGING, SNUGGLING, SPOONING GREEN: GOSSIPING BUZZING, DISHING, SPILLING, WHISPERING BLUE: ENGAGING IN AN ACTIVITY WITH PINS OR NEEDLES ACUPUNCTURING, BOWLING, SEWING, WRESTLING PURPLE: STARTING WITH TITLES DOCTORING, LORDING, MISSING, SIRING My rating: Moderate My score: 1 mistake All of the _ING words in the grid made for a very baffling game today, but a couple of the groups were also designed to confuse. GETTING COZY was elementary enough, but I struggled to put together the green group. Correctly thinking it was about GOSSIPING, I included DOCTORING as I think of this as a phrase about making things up, which is what most gossip is (invented by PRs to benefit their client or by journalists to benefit their numbers). On my second go at it I included BUZZING only because of the vaguely gossipy Buzzfeed website, not because I'd ever heard of the term buzzing. Every day's a school day. Next, I knew that ACUPUNCTURING and SEWING were linked and saw the connection with BOWLING pins, but it wasn't until the game was long over that I realized why WRESTLING was part of the group, thanks to the many different types of pin moves from the Gannosuke Clutch to the Oklahoma Roll (yes, I am looking at Wikipedia). How did you do today? Let me know in the comments below. YELLOW: BOAST BLUSTER, CROW, SHOW OFF, STRUT GREEN: ARC-SHAPED THINGS BANANA, EYEBROW, FLIGHT PATH, RAINBOW BLUE: CEREAL MASCOTS COUNT, ELVES, LEPRECHAUN, ROOSTER PURPLE: WAYS TO DENOTE A CITATION ASTERISK, DAGGER, NUMBER, PARENS NYT Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games made by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four items that share something in common, and each group has a different difficulty level: green is easy, yellow a little harder, blue often quite tough and purple usually very difficult. On the plus side, you don't technically need to solve the final one, as you'll be able to answer that one by a process of elimination. What's more, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you a little bit of breathing room. It's a little more involved than something like Wordle, however, and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to trip you up with tricks. For instance, watch out for homophones and other word games that could disguise the answers. It's playable for free via the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
