Ozark fans urged to watch 'addictive' Netflix drama that's 'even better'
Fans who are missing the Byrdes three years after the series finale of Ozark should check out this equally gripping crime drama
Ozark fans should look no further than this rival cartel drama which also happens to be streaming on Netflix.
Starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, the hit thriller series follows a family who's forced to relocate to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and launder money for the Mexican cartel.
They soon become entangled with other local crime families, including small-time criminal Ruth Langmore (played by Julia Garner), while trying to keep their own safe.
Receiving critical acclaim and devoured by legions of fans around the globe, Ozark is sorely missed by viewers after it came to an end in 2022.
However, if you've already watched - and rewatched - all four seasons of the hit Netflix drama, this similar crime thriller on the platform is just as deserving of your attention.
Originally broadcast on USA Network, the popular drama Queen of the South follows the comparable narrative about a poor woman named Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga) who falls in love with a cartel member.
When she discovers he's been murdered she's forced to flee Mexico and cross the border into the United States, where she eventually sets up her own drug trade, with herself at the top. Unfortunately, success always comes at a cost.
Fans have been raving about the series, which actually began a year before Ozark, airing from 2016-2021. All five seasons are currently on Netflix in the UK.
The series has received an overwhelming majority of five-star reviews from Google users, including from one fan who says: 'This was a hit for me because it keeps you on your toes and always wondering what will happen next.
'With its twists and turns, backstabbing, scheming and a whole lot of action. Thumbs Up!! Love this drama thriller!!'
Another agreed: 'It was an extremely addictive series to watch. Lots of action. Kept me wanting to watch more and more.'
Someone else raved: 'This show is a masterpiece and it deserves recognition.
'I started watching it 3 weeks ago and it has been a thrill. It's action packed. The cast? Amazing!!!!'

And a fourth compared it to another highly-revered crime drama: 'Quite literally the best drama I've ever seen in my life. 20/10 recommend.
'Every single episode is season finale-worthy. Not a dull moment at all.
'I used to think nothing would ever top Breaking Bad but Queen of the South blows it out of the water, and with a few of the same actors…'
Screen Rant has also recommended the series, specifically claiming Queen of the South is arguably superior to Ozark.
'The Show Is Better-Paced & More Action-Packed,' they argued.
'Ozark can initially be a little hard to get into. Queen of the South, in contrast, is action-packed and quick-paced from the very beginning.
'In terms of overall critical ratings, Ozark still seems to rank above Queen of the South. However, viewers fascinated with shows like Ozark and Breaking Bad should certainly give Queen of the South a shot.'
Although Ozark may have a better reputation, Queen of the South is certainly an underrated gem that deserves to be sought out by fans of the crime drama genre who are hungry for more.
Queen of the South is available to stream on Netflix.
