Thai drama fans go into a frenzy as C-drama star Chen Zheyuan arrives in Bangkok for iQIYI meet and greet and Starship Project events
ENTHUSIASTIC fans went wild in a meet and greet session with C-Drama star Chen Zheyuan in his first overseas appearance as iQIYI Global Ambassador at Sphere Gallery, Emsphere, Bangkok, Thailand. On June 29, the "iQIYI Starship Project" successfully hosted the event, which also drew local media and VIP members. Marking Chen Zheyuan's first overseas appearance, it was another significant event under the iQIYI Starship Project, aiming to enhance the international presence of Chinese entertainment content. The large and enthusiastic audience highlighted Chen's notable popularity in Thailand. During the interview session, Chen expressed excitement and happiness about becoming the iQIYI International Global Ambassador. Having visited Thailand multiple times previously, he emphasised his affection for the country and specifically thanked iQIYI for their thoughtful arrangements, allowing him to closely interact with local fans. Chen recalled his past visits to Thailand, from being relatively unknown during his early filming visits to later gaining recognition by locals, who even used his images as their phone wallpapers, deepening his connection with Thailand. Chen also shared his honour at the widespread acclaim his works have received in Thailand, emphasising that quality storytelling and genuine emotions transcend language and cultural barriers. He hopes to continue bringing more excellent performances, explore diverse roles, and expand further collaborations with iQIYI's international team. The interactive segment featured Chen tasting local Thai dishes, including durian, mackerel lettuce wraps, and green papaya salad. He also performed the Thai song "Yours Ever." Additionally, Chen viewed a special fan-made video showing fans' enthusiastic support. The event concluded with a lucky draw, where five fans received autographed postcards and took memorable photos with Chen. Before the event, iQIYI also organised a special exhibition displaying Chen's recent drama projects, behind-the-scenes footage, and various costumes, attracting numerous visitors and further demonstrating his popularity in the local market. Chen Zheyuan has starred in several hit dramas, including "Hidden Love," "Handsome Siblings," and "The White Olive Tree," gaining widespread international popularity, particularly in Southeast Asia. His diverse roles and approachable screen presence have won him numerous overseas fans. Chinese actress Zhao Lusi has made a surprise public appearance days after she suffered a health scare. Lusi has been going through a period of recovery after being hospitalized in Shanghai on December 18, 2024. Although she'd earlier updated her fans about her condition, the actress fully addressed the health scare while making her first appearance. According to Asia One, Zhao Lusi was part of an event in Chengdu for the beverage brand Viee for the first time since her health scare. Upon her arrival, fans present at the event were filled with joy to see her recovering well. As reported by ComingSoon previously, the actress, known for her work in the global hit C-Drama Hidden Love, was seen being supported by her staff as she was unable to walk. A clip of Lusi in a wheelchair in a weak state took over the internet causing a sense of worry to spread among her fans. Following this, speculations hit social media suggesting that Lusi's condition worsened because of depression, overwork, and possible aphasia. However, her team provided an update on Weibo about her health stating that Lusi 'felt unwell and went to the hospital for examination and treatment' while filming for her upcoming project Lovers. In her interview with Global Times recently, Lusi opened up about her severe depression and revealed that it led to symptoms like loss of speech and further affected her other physical functions. At the event, fans noticed Lusi using a cane to walk as she further shared details about her health scare. She conveyed, 'I experienced symptoms of paralysis and loss of speech. It was really hard to face myself at that time, but I'm so grateful to be like this right now.' The actress also raised awareness and announced she is starting a foundation in collaboration with Viee to assist those dealing with mental health problems. She added, 'I hope everyone can take this illness seriously and not delay treatment until it gets so severe. I realised there are many people like me so I really want to do something for them.'
