CENTAC notifies commencement of admission process to NEET-UG courses
The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) has notified the commencement of the admission process for UG NEET-2025 qualified candidates for admission to the first-year M.B.B.S., B.D.S., B.A.M.S. (Ayurveda) & & A.H. (Veterinary – National-SS & NRI seats only) courses. The last date has been fixed as July 14 for the submission of online applications to various undergraduate courses to a provisional pool of 1,229 seats in Government and Self-financing Medical, Dental, Ayurveda and Veterinary colleges in the U.T. of Puducherry. According to the CENTAC coordinator, detailed guidelines on seat numbers and various quotas have been published in the NEET information brochure for admissions 2025-26. CENTAC stated that the number of seats in various NEET-UG courses may vary depending on the approval of the concerned competent authorities of the Government of Puducherry and that the seat matrices will be published on the CENTAC website after receiving the same from the departments concerned. Provisionally, the pool of MBBS seats is 830 across the sole State institution and three private medical colleges. The break-up is 180 seats at IGMCRI, 150 at PIMS and 250 each at the Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College Hospital and the Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. There are 310 BDS seats in the U.T., comprising 110 in the State-run MGPGIDS and 100 each in the private SVDC, Puducherry and MINDS, Mahe. There are 26 seats for & A.H courses at RIVER, Puducherry and 63 seats for BAMS at RGAMC, Mahe. According to the admission schedule, after the window for submission of applications closes, authorities will notify the first draft merit list on a date announced on the website A second revised draft list will also be put out before the final list is published. Counselling will be undertaken in four rounds as per the guidelines received from the Medical Counselling Committee. Puducherry entrance exam for B.Sc nursing under government quota on June 29
Puducherry: The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Puducherry, has announced the schedule for the Common Entrance Examination for admission to Nursing courses under the government quota. The exam will be conducted on June 29, 2025. As per the notification issued by the Director of Medical Services, the application process will be held online through the official CENTAC (Centralised Admission Committee) website. Online registration will commence on May 15, and the last date for submission of applications is May 30. The entrance exam has been mandated following the Indian Nursing Council's (INC) directive —Notification No. 22-10/NEET/2018-19-INC dated January 13, 2025. It is compulsory for all candidates aspiring for admission under the government quota in both government and private nursing institutions in the Union Territory of Puducherry. Students who have completed their Class 12 and wish to pursue Nursing under the government quota must appear for and qualify this entrance test. Admissions will be based strictly on the marks obtained in the exam and will adhere to the reservation policies already in place, as administered by CENTAC. Additionally, admission to self-supporting and NRI quota seats at the College of Nursing, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Research Institute (IGMC&RI) and the Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute (MTPG&RI) in Puducherry and Karaikal will be based on NEET 2025 scores. Admissions to management quota seats in private institutions will continue to follow the procedures adopted in previous years. Officials have also clarified that a separate entrance exam will be conducted for admission to administrative quota seats in private nursing colleges. The requirement for a common entrance exam is applicable to all categories of students, including those from EWS, MBC, OBC, SC, and ST communities, in accordance with INC's current regulations. Authorities noted the contrast with Tamil Nadu, where admissions to nursing courses are still based on Class 12 marks, while Puducherry candidates now face a mandatory entrance test. Puducherry to hold B Sc Nursing entrance exam on June 29 for government quota seats
PUDUCHERRY: The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Puducherry, has announced that the common entrance examination for admission to Nursing courses under the government quota will be held on June 29. According to the Director of Medical Services, the application process will be conducted online through the official CENTAC website. Registration will be open from May 15. Last date for submission is May 30. The entrance exam, is being scheduled following notification no. 22-10/NEET/2018-19-INC dated January 13, 2025, issued by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi. It is mandatory for all candidates seeking admission to government quota seats in both government and private nursing institutions in the union territory. Candidates who have completed Class 12 and wish to pursue a Nursing degree under the government quota must appear for and qualify the exam. Admissions will be based on the marks obtained and will follow the existing reservation policy administered by CENTAC. Additionally, admissions to self-supporting and NRI quota seats at the College of Nursing, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Research Institute (IGMC&RI), and the Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute (MTPG&RI) in both Puducherry and Karaikal will be based on NEET 2025 scores.
