UP's Mission 2031 aims for massive overhaul to transform villages
Lucknow, June 29(UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to implement the 'Mission 2031' a large-scale development initiative focused on rural transformation. As a part of 'Mission 2031', the government aims to modernize and enrich villages across the state by significantly upgrading their infrastructure and services. In a recent meeting with the Central Finance Commission (CFC), the state government submitted a proposal seeking over Rs 2.15 lakh crore for rural local bodies. This proposal is seen as a major step towards realising the vision of a self-reliant and developed rural Uttar Pradesh. Officials here today said that as part of this roadmap, the state government has proposed Rs 1,74,755 crore for gram panchayats, Rs 17,334 crore for block-level development, and Rs 22,940 crore for district panchayats. The total allocation is earmarked for essential infrastructure improvements, repairs, and maintenance, marking one of the most comprehensive rural investment drives in the state's history. Notably, the 'Mission 2031' blueprint also includes an Rs 1.29 lakh crore infrastructure development roadmap for the state's 17 municipal corporations, indicating the government's dual focus on both urban and rural transformation. Yogi to launch CM-YUVA app on MSME Day today
Jun 27, 2025 05:38 AM IST : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will launch several schemes for the micro, small and medium enterprises sector, including the CM-YUVA mobile app, on the MSME Day at Lok Bhavan auditorium here on Friday. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath (For representation only) This app will help youth with jobs, career guidance and entrepreneurship support. A short film showing the features of the CM-YUVA programme will also be screened. The CM will also virtually inaugurate ODOP Common Facility Centres (CFC) set up in Bareilly and Moradabad districts and distribute allotment letters to five beneficiaries of an infrastructure project in Khyamai, Aligarh. Besides, he will launch the new 'Youth Adda' developed in Kisan Bazar, Lucknow, which will serve as a place for young people to learn entrepreneurial skills. Cheques and toolkits will be handed out to 15 selected beneficiaries under the MSME policy, CM-YUVA and other job-focused schemes. Under the ODOP program, five artisans will also receive toolkits. An MoU will be signed between the Human Welfare Association and the commissioner and director of industries, aiming to secure more GI tags for local products. The event will also be attended by Rakesh Sachan, state minister for khadi and village industries, MSME, handloom, silk and textiles, along with senior officials of the MSME department.

The CM will also distribute allotment letters to five beneficiaries of an infrastructure project in Khyamai, Aligarh. This is in addition to the launch of the new "Youth Adda" developed in Kisan Bazar, Lucknow, which will serve as a place for young people to learn, connect, and grow their entrepreneurial skills, they added. Officials also said that cheques and toolkits will be handed out to 15 selected beneficiaries under the MSME policy, CM-YUVA, and other job-focused schemes — with five beneficiaries from each. Under the ODOP programme, five artisans will also receive toolkits. To help promote the state's unique products worldwide, an MoU will be signed between the Human Welfare Association and the Commissioner and Director of Industries. This partnership aims to secure more GI tags for local products, officials said.

State govt to launch Space Park project on Thursday
T'puram: The foundation stone for Kerala's ambitious Common Facility Centre (CFC) and Research & Development Centre (RDC) as part of the Space Park project will be laid on Thursday. The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency, Thycaud, in the capital. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the event. Organized by Kerala Spacepark (KSPACE), the event marks a significant step in boosting the state's aerospace and defence sectors. Spanning 15.06 acres in Pallippuram, the project is backed by Nabard and aims to provide shared facilities for testing, inspection and innovation. The two-day event will also feature exhibitions, startup pitching sessions and industry-academia interactions. Various sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are open to institutions and startups. Registration for delegates and students is now open. The tender for the Space Park was awarded to Ircon International Ltd, a Govt of India undertaking institution under the ministry of railways. The project was granted a Rs 241 crore loan from Nabard for the construction of the buildings and the campus. The tender was called by the Kerala State IT Infrastructure Ltd to construct two key buildings—the CFC and RDC. The estimated completion of the project is 30 months. The new facilities will be built on 3.5 acres of the 18.5 acres allotted by state govt at Technopark Phase IV in Pallipuram. Currently, the Space Park office operates from a rented building in Pattom. The R&D facility will feature startup incubators and other research amenities.

CFC names new chief underwriting officer
CFC, a UK-based specialist insurance provider, has appointed Nick Line as its new chief underwriting officer (CUO), effective from 2026. Line will join CFC in 2026 following a 28-year tenure at Markel, where he has served as CUO since 2018. Line began working in the insurance industry in 1997, serving in roles such as chief actuary and chief underwriting officer. At Markel, he contributed to growth through new product development, market expansion and acquisitions. His tenure saw Markel diversify its portfolio, enhance underwriting processes and improve customer service in international markets, according to CFC's press statement. Commenting on the appointment, Line said: 'In 28 wonderful years at Markel, I have had the pleasure of working alongside some of the brightest minds and friendliest people in the industry. 'It had to be an exceptional opportunity for me to make a move, and that is why I am so excited to be joining the CFC team. I have always admired businesses that embody innovation, agility and a 'can-do' ethos, and CFC is a standout example.
