EA Sports College Football Ratings: Where Florida football players are ranked

EA Sports released its Top 100 players in its College Football 26 video game ratings on July 1. No surprise, Ohio State football wide receiver Jeremiah Smith came in as the No. 1-rated player overall with an overall rating of 98. Advertisement Beyond that, only one Florida football player cracked the Top 100. Two-year Florida Gators starting center Jake Slaughter, an All-American last season, came in at No. 47 with a player rating of 93 and a strength rating of 90. Florida football sophomore quarterback D.J. Lagway, who appeared on the Deluxe Cover, did not crack the Top 100 but ranked 10th among college football quarterbacks with a player rating of 90. Lagway posted a 6-1 record as a starting quarterback for UF as a true freshman, passing for 1,915 yards with 12 TDs to nine interceptions. The game will see a full release July 10 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will be the second in the title's return following an 11-year hiatus. DJ Lagway among trio of Florida football players repping UF at SEC Media Days

Next Wednesday, Florida football will show itself off to the SEC world at the conference's media days in Atlanta. The Gators will do so with a diverse package of players. The conference announced Tuesday that QB DJ Lagway, OL Jake Slaughter and DL Caleb Banks will represent UF in Atlanta. Media days will run from Tuesday, July 15-Friday, July 18. The three players – along with head coach Billy Napier – will speak Wednesday, along with Alabama, Mississippi State and Oklahoma. Advertisement Lagway is the national draw of the Gators this season. The sophomore is being ranked as one of the SEC's top QBs and appeared on the deluxe cover of NCAA Football 26. He threw for 12 TDs and 1,915 yards in the 2024 season in 12 games played. Slaughter, a senior and Ocala native, is one of the nation's top offensive lineman. A first team All-American in 2024, Athlon Sports and Walter Camp named him preseason for the same title in 2025. Banks, a redshirt senior, amassed 21 tackles in the 2024 season. He helps lead a revamped Gators defensive line that will be relied on heavily in the 2025 season. Who will Florida basketball play in-conference in 2025-26? UF's SEC opponents revealed

Former Florida basketball guard Denzel Aberdeen will make a return trip to the O'Connell Center with Kentucky during the 2025-26 season. The Florida Gators will face Kentucky home and away, along with South Carolina and Georgia, the SEC revealed on June 18. Advertisement In addition, UF will host Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU and Mississippi State at the O'Connell Center. Florida's away-only games will come against Ole Miss, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt. Aberdeen, an instrumental bench player during UF's run to its third national title in 2024-25, entered the transfer portal last April and signed with Kentucky. It created another hole in the backcourt the Gators had to fill after losing senior starters Walter Clayton Jr., Alijah Martin and Will Richard to eligibility. Florida regrouped by signing three guards out of the transfer portal ― former Princeton point guard Xaivian Lee, former Ohio point guard A.J. Brown and former Arkansas point guard Boogie Fland. Advertisement Florida has opened against Kentucky in SEC play in each of the last two seasons. Last season, in UF's lone matchup with the Wildcats, the Gators lost 106-100 at Rupp Arena on Jan. 4, 2025. In Kentucky's last trip to the O'Connell Center, the Wildcats beat UF 87-85 on Jan. 6. 2024. Kevin Brockway is The Gainesville Sun's Florida beat writer. Florida Gators Father's Day gifts: Celebrate with our collector's book, page prints, gear Looking for the perfect Father's Day gift for the Florida Gators fan in your life? To be crowned 2025 national champions, Florida basketball had to traverse a gauntlet unlike any team in recent years. En route to a 36-4 record and cutting down the nets at the Alamodome, the Gators twice knocked off the country's top-ranked team (Tennessee in January, Auburn in February), captured the SEC tournament (first time since 2014), toppled the NCAA tournament's overall No. 1 seed (Auburn again) and basked in their latest shining moment (while quashing Houston's dreams). And you can relive the glory of the Gators' third national championship and first in nearly two decades through a book and page prints from The Gainesville Sun and USA TODAY. Gator Nation never will forget the iconic moments: Crushing Tennessee's spirit with a 30-point victory and later in the title game of the SEC tournament, the impossible Elite Eight comeback against Texas Tech, an epic final half to eliminate Auburn in the national semifinals, and the brilliance of Walter Clayton Jr., the first Gator to be a consensus first-team All-American (plus be compared to Steph Curry). Florida football lands commitment from 4-star safety for 2026 class

Florida football landed its fourth commitment of the 2026 class, getting a pledge from Milton High safety Kaiden Hall on June 3, per On3's Hayes Fawcett. Hall visited UF's campus from over the weekend and chose the Florida Gators over offers from Tennessee, Texas A&M, USF and UCF. He's listed as a three-star prospect by and a four-star per composite rankings. Advertisement Hall is the first defensive back to commit to UF's 2026 class, a list that includes quarterback Will Griffin (four-star, Jesuit Prep, Tampa), defensive lineman Jamir Perez (three-star, Glenville High, Cleveland, Ohio) and inside offensive lineman G'Nivre Carr (three-star, IMG Academy, Bradenton). Under fourth-year coach Billy Napier, Florida is looking to build off its recruiting moment from a year ago, when it rallied late to put together a 2025 class that ranked seventh nationally, per 247Sports. Some of those players stood out as early enrollees in UF's spring game, including five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson, who had 10 catches for 195 yards and 2 TDs. Here's more information on Hall per Gannett Florida's USA Today in-state recruiting database: Kaiden Hall School: Milton Advertisement Commitment: Florida Height, Weight: 6-3, 195 pounds 2024 Stats: 28 carries, 161 rushing yards, 2 rushing TDs, 8 catches, 80 receiving yards, 32 tackles, 3 TFL (MaxPreps) USA Today Florida Network Ranking: No. 21 (No. 1 ATH) USA Today Florida Network Star Rating: 4 ★★★★ USA Today Florida Network grade: 91.5 247Sports Composite: 4 star, No. 21 player in Florida, No. 12 safety in the country Scouting report: Hall displays an incredible understanding of his position whichever it is on the field.
