Coimbatore Book Festival from July 18 to 27
Coimbatore: The 9th edition of the Coimbatore Book Festival (CBF) will be held from July 18 to 27 at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex. Organised by the Coimbatore district administration, school education department, and CODISSIA, the 10-day event will feature over 170 exhibitors across 320 stalls. It will bring together publishers, writers, students, and book lovers from across the country. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, CODISSIA president M Karthikeyan said, "CBF 2025 is more than an exhibition, it's a cultural movement to ignite the love for literature in young minds. States including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Delhi will participate." M Rajesh, chairman, CBF 2025, said the festival aims to promote reading habit among children while supporting publishers affected by the digital shift. "A free shuttle service will be operated between the venue and Avinashi Road (near Jenneys Residency)," he said. Entry is free for all, with online and on-the-spot registration options available. The fair will be open from 10am to 8pm.

C.R.I. Pumps receives National Award
C.R.I. Pumps has received the National Award for Export Excellence presented by the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) of India for the fiscal 2022–23. A press release said the Coimbatore-based water solution company received the award in the 'Pumps – Large Enterprise' category and it is C.R.I.'s 22nd EEPC Award. Ashish Minal Babaji Shelar, Minister of Information Technology & Cultural Affairs, presented the award recently. CODISSIA welcomes government measures The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA), the CODISSIA Industrial Park at Kallapalayam (Sulur taluk), and the CODISSIA Defence Innovation and Atal Incubation Centre have welcomed the measures by the officials for controlling air pollution around the Industrial Park. A press release from the CODISSIA said about 20 industries had begun operations at the park that is spread over 120 acres. A few industries located at Orattukuppai village in Madukkarai taluk, just outside the Industrial Park, were reportedly causing air pollution, affecting the residents of the village and the employees at the CODISSIA park. The issue was taken up with the government authorities and they had taken action against the polluting industries, the release said.

Agricultural expo in Coimbatore from July 10 to 14
The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) will organise the 23rd edition of agriculture expo – Agri Intex – here from July 10 to 14. A press release from the organisers said the event will showcase advancements in agriculture, horticulture, dairy, poultry farming, and food processing technologies apart from agriculture equipment. The 1.5 lakh exhibition area will be spread over eight halls and will have pavilions for solar energy, farm animals, and poultry. The participants are from New Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Puducherry, West Bengal, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu and will have over 480 participants occupying more than 600 stalls. More than two lakh visitors are expected. One of the highlights of the expo this year is a pavilion for poultry, which can be a good option for farmers.
