Authorities in Washington, D.C. are gearing up for a day-long festival to celebrate the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary on Saturday, June 14. The festival, full of music, fireworks and a fitness competition, will conclude with a parade at 6:30 p.m. ET in the heart of Washington, D.C. The day of pomp and circumstance also coincides with President Donald Trump's 79th birthday. Several major roads, expressways and bridges will be closed to vehicle traffic during the day – and some have already been shuttered this week. Which DC roads will be closed for the Army parade?
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Many roads in the DMV will be closed to parking or vehicles over the weekend for the U.S. Army's 250th Birthday Parade and Festival on Saturday. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) released a list of road closures on Wednesday ahead of the parade. MPD said that these closures are subject to change and that residents and visitors can get the latest information online.
