BHU CUET-PG 2025 round-1 seat allotment released: Fee payment deadline July 16

The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has released the seat allotment for CUET-PG 2025 admissions under Round 1. The allotment was made live on July 14, 2025, at 12:01 p.m. on the university's Smarth Dashboard. Candidates who have received seat allotments must complete the online admission fee payment by July 16, 2025, 11:59 p.m. The payment portal is accessible through the official admission link. Students are instructed to verify the merit-cum-allotment lists on the admission portal. Before paying the fee, candidates must confirm they meet the eligibility requirements of the program allotted. It is the candidate's responsibility to keep checking the CAP (PG) 2025 dashboard after each round of allotment. Candidates allotted more than one program must select their preferred choice, as selecting one will disable access to others. Admission is confirmed only after the fee is paid and all admission formalities are completed. Failure to pay the admission fee by the deadline will result in the cancellation of the allotted seat, exclusion from further rounds, and loss of rights to the seat. Students can choose between the FREEZE or UPGRADE options. If UPGRADE is chosen, they will be required to pay any fee difference in the next round. Candidates are advised not to wait until the last moment to make the payment. More information is available in the PG Information Bulletin 2025 and the CAP (PG) 2025 guidelines available on BHU's official website.

CUET PG merit list released, choice filling begins today

Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) on Thursday announced the merit list for postgraduate admissions based on CUET-PG 2025 scores. Students who registered for PG admissions at DAVV through CUET PG can now check their merit rank on the university's website. The choice filling process will begin from June 13 to June 19. "Students can view their merit status and proceed with course preferences," said Prof Rajesh Sharma, Chairman, CUET PG Admissions at DAVV. The choice filling involves selecting and prioritising programmes across departments and locking preferences before the deadline to be eligible for allotment. Despite a record 86,000 students selecting DAVV as their preferred institution during the CUET-PG registration process—more than double last year's figure—the university received just over 1,500 registrations for its 1,450 PG seats, raising concern among the admissions committee. Sharma attributed this to confusion over subject mapping: "Many students only appeared for their core subject exams, skipping required tests like general knowledge and mathematics, which limited their eligibility. " As per the official counselling schedule, the first round of seat allotment will be announced on June 24. Students allotted seats will have to report for document verification between June 30 and July 2, followed by online fee submission from June 30 to July 6.. DAVV PG admission draws low registrations

Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) closed registrations for PG admissions through CUET-PG scores on Thursday, but the unexpectedly low number of applications raised serious concerns. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Against 1,450 available seats, the university received just over 1,500 registrations—despite a record 86,000 candidates selecting DAVV courses as their preference during the CUET-PG application process. The stark contrast between the number of students who initially showed interest and those who ultimately registered left the university administration puzzled. This is especially surprising considering the rising demand for certain courses like MBA (Finance), MBA (Marketing), and MBA (Business Economics), which consistently attracted aspirants in recent years. However, demand for several other courses appears to have dropped significantly. This year marks DAVV's first attempt at conducting PG counselling entirely online. The university will release the first seat allotment list on June 24. Students allotted seats must report to the campus between June 30 and July 2 to verify documents and submit fees. Despite low registrations, the varsity is not planning to extend the deadline for registrations. "We will not be extending the deadline now as the online counselling schedule will be hampered," said DAVV admissions committee member, Dr Yogendra Bawal. The admission process will now move to the merit list preparation stage, which will take place from June 6 to 10, followed by the release of the list on June 12. Students can complete online choice filling from June 13 to 19. Despite CUET-PG 2025 seeing a nationwide surge in participation—with 6.55 lakh applicants—DAVV's low turnout is being viewed as part of a wider trend where non-CUET courses have also seen fewer students opting for admission. Experts believe this may reflect broader shifts in student preferences or confusion around the online counselling process. Notably, last year only 42,000 students selected DAVV through CUET-PG, compared to 86,000 this year. The university anticipated tough competition, but the actual figures fell far short of expectations. DAVV offers 24 PG courses across more than 10 teaching departments, including sought-after programs like MA Clinical Psychology, Sociology, and Political Science.

CUET-PG 2025: HC sends notice to Centre, NTA, UGC as student challenges answer key

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notice to the central government, National Testing Agency (NTA), and University Grants Commission (UGC) on a petition challenging the final answer key and result of the CUET-PG 2025 Political Science examination. The court has directed that admissions to the course in question will remain subject to the outcome of the case. The petition has been filed by Gurshaan Singh Cheema, who appeared for the CUET-PG 2025 Political Science exam conducted on March 11. Cheema has sought the setting aside of the provisional answer key published on April 24, the final answer key released on May 6, and the result and score sheet issued the same day. The petitioner has specifically contested the correctness of Question ID 7311302427, which required arranging four constitutional amendments in chronological order. Cheema claimed the final answer key retained what he alleges is a factually incorrect answer. According to the petition, Cheema lost five marks due to the incorrect key — both due to lack of credit for the correct answer and negative marking for selecting an answer different from the one listed. This, he argues, has significantly impacted his rank and eligibility for admission. The plea seeks a revised answer key with the correct response and a fresh result based on it. The division bench of Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Sumeet Goel, in its May 27 order, directed that all admissions to the course will remain subject to the outcome of the petition. The court also directed the respondents to inform both selected candidates and those appearing for counselling about the pendency of the case. The matter will next be heard on July 3. Respondents have been granted time to file their replies.
