'Surprisingly spacious' bag the perfect size for Ryanair's new hand luggage rules cut by 54%
The airline has announced a change to its free cabin bag rules and this Aerolite one gives maximum space while staying within the limits
Ryanair has said it is increasing the size of its free cabin bag meaning passengers can now take a slightly larger one on board. The current dimensions for a personal bag is 40 x 25 x 20cm and will give way to a bigger carry on bag with measurements of 40 x 30 x 20cm 'within weeks', the airline has confirmed.
It's a bit of good news for passengers of the budget airline as the volume capacity of the personal bag they are allowed for free will increase from around 20 litres to 24 litres too. It means some more room to cram in holiday essentials without paying a fee.
Customers of the carrier will know it is one of the stricter airlines when it comes to hand luggage rules. Those who have tried to take a slightly bigger bag onto the plane have often been hit with charges.
Those who have bags that are sized within the current measurements can, of course, still use them. Ryanair say they are currently changing their airport bag sizers and that passengers should be able to take advantage of the rule change within a 'matter of weeks'.
If you want the maximum amount of space in your hand luggage you may want to buy a bag which is the optimal size - one which measures exactly 40 x 30 x 20cm.
After all, if you're heading away for a short trip and don't want to pay for hold luggage, every inch of space counts.
Aerolite have a holdall which is currently less than half price and will conform perfectly to the new size regulations. Selling at £13.59, down from £29.99, buyers can save 54 per cent on this hand luggage.
Featuring a lockable main compartment, the bag also has a front, zipped pocket for easy access to important documents, earphones and electronic devices, it can be worn over the shoulder or mounted on a suitcase for easy transportation.
Amazon also have some options to suit the upcoming Ryanair dimensions.
Its Spaher rucksack measures 40 x 30 x 20cm and is reduced to £31.19, down from £35.99, at the moment. It comes in grey and beige, which cost more, but the black option, which is reduced, has the added benefit of including a USB charging port so you can charge on the go.
And if you are after something with wheels, the hard shelled Cabin Max Anode could be the answer. Amazon has it for £39.95, but it is the exact dimensions for the new Ryanair sizing and fits underneath the seat too.
It also comes in a range of colours and can be wheeled or even worn across the body.
If The Aerolite holdall is what you're after, rest assured it is also compatible with lots of other airlines including Wizz Air, EasyJet and Virgin among others. But it is now the perfect size for all Ryanair flights. It's gathered a handful of reviews and has a star rating of 4.2 out of five.
Customers said it was 'sturdy' and 'well made'. One added: "Surprisingly spacious bag. Good value and well made. Fits perfectly under the seat of budget airline seats, with room to spare, " with another adding: "Minimal weight, yet still pretty strong. A good purchase."
One buyer was disappointed with the strap, which is said to be cushioned to relieve shoulder aches and pains, however saying: "The strap isn't as comfortable as I expected it to be."
