Barn 'fully engulfed' as crews tackle fire
A barn was completely engulfed in flames during a fire that involved a large quantity of hay. It took several hours to bring the blaze under control. At 11.58am on Saturday, March 22, reports came in about a fire at a farm building on High Street, near Tarporley, Cheshire. According to Cheshire Fire and Rescue, the fire involved a significant amount of hay and animal feed. Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, fought the blaze by dividing it into three sectors to better manage the incident. By around 5pm, the flames were under control, and the number of fire engines on scene was reduced to three. Crews are expected to remain on site overnight to monitor the situation. One witness reported seeing the barn "fully engulfed" and told the ECHO that there were "six fire engines and three station managers from across the county" at the scene.
