Nando's brings back popular item TODAY in new menu – plus ‘sauce of the summer' and spicy wrap

NANDO'S is putting a popular item back on the menu from today and also serving up its 'sauce of the summer' plus a new wrap. Fans of the spicy chicken restaurants went mad last summer for its Caesar salad and now the chain is bringing it back in a new take on the popular item. 3 3 In 2024, many fans took to TikTok as part of the 'Looking for a Caesar salad' trend and posting about the ultimate 'Girl Dinner'. This year, it's back on the menu but with a twist. The Super Caesar Wrap takes the Nando's Caesar salad and adds a couple of fan favourite flavours which include PERi-Honey and Herby Pickles. The wrap includes: pulled chicken, crunchy croutons, crisp lettuce, Herby Pickles, Creamy Salad Dressing and a drizzle of the recently launched PERi-honey. It's described as being: 'sweet, spicy and crunchy, all wrapped up.' The Super Caesar Wrap costs £10.25 and contains 769kcal. If that wasn't enough to get your taste buds salivating, Nando's has also revealed that its Garlic BBQ sauce was voted the most popular by fans and will also be on the menu from today. It can be enjoyed as a spice on any go-to order and has 33kcal per serving. The sweet and smoky spice took an early lead with fans and managed to maintain its top position. Mango and lime came a close second in the popularity stakes with Smoky Churrasco taking third place. I was homesick & flew 690 miles to UK for less than three hours — for a cheeky NANDO'S Little ones visiting Nando's this summer won't go hungry either as the Nandino Burger is back after being improved. Youngsters can enjoy grilled chicken breast with lettuce, lemon and herb mayo and Heinz ketchup in Nando's new soft roll. The new burger can be ordered as part of the Nandino menu. The burger has 283kcal and costs £6.36 per meal. Nando's summer menu will be available from July 15 across all restaurants in the UK and Ireland. It comes after supermarkets have axed a popular Nando's item from shelves, Nando's Wrap Kits have now permanently disappeared from shelves. The product came with four wraps and a range of spice and sauces, allowing customers to create their own meals inspired by the iconic chain. The product cost around £3.30 and was sold in Iceland, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury's. 3

Chicken peasar salad

Sometimes you just have to jump all in and embrace the pun, but that doesn't mean this spin on the classic Caesar salad isn't a serious recipe. Oh no, the peas bring another level to this gastropub favourite. I scatter in the whole peas and also use some to create a vibrant dressing so you're using all of the pea's natural strengths. Overview Prep time 15 mins Cook time 15 mins Serves 4 to 6 Ingredients 4 thick slices of white bread from a loaf, cut into chunks 3-4 tbsp olive oil 2 skinless chicken breasts 2 Romaine lettuces 250g frozen peas 1 garlic clove, crushed or finely grated 4 anchovies from a tin 4 tbsp mayonnaise ½ tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, or as needed Zest and juice of 1 lemon 15g Parmesan, grated, plus extra (optional) for shaving Method Step Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas mark 6. Step Scatter the bread chunks (from 4 thick slices of white bread) over a baking tray then drizzle with enough olive oil to coat them well. Step Season with a little salt and freshly ground black pepper, then bake in the hot oven, tossing every now and then, for 10-15 minutes or until golden and crisp. Set aside. Step Meanwhile, season 2 skinless chicken breasts generously all over with salt and pepper, then fry in a frying pan over a medium heat for 10-15 minutes, or until lightly browned and cooked through. Set aside. Step Break 2 Romaine lettuces apart and separate them into single leaves. Place the lettuce leaves either on a serving platter or in a large salad bowl, ready to toss together with everything else. Step Place 250g frozen peas in a heatproof bowl and cover them with freshly boiled water to defrost. Leave for a few minutes and then drain. Step Add 1 crushed or finely grated garlic clove, 4 anchovies, 4 tbsp mayonnaise, ½ tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, the zest and juice of 1 lemon and 15g grated Parmesan to the processor, then blitz to a smooth, thin dressing. If you need to thin the dressing down a bit, add a splash of water or more extra-virgin olive oil. Taste for seasoning then adjust with salt and pepper to taste. Step Pour the dressing over the lettuce leaves and peas, then toss in the croutons. Chop or shred the chicken and add that in too, then toss everything together. Serve the salad with some extra Parmesan shavings, if you like.

People are just realising Worcestershire sauce has ‘hidden' ingredient

Worcestershire sauce is a condiment often used to add flavour to dishes such as pasta, casseroles, pies, and even Bloody Mary cocktails. But it's only recently that people have discovered its key ingredient, and it's completely blowing their minds. The tangy sauce is typically made with water, vinegar, brown sugar, golden syrup, salt, tamarind, spices, onion powder, and garlic powder. However, people have been left stunned to find out that the sauce also contains a rather polarising ingredient – anchovies. The revelation came to light after a mum and home cook shared her take on a Caesar salad, which she declared was 'picky child approved' as it contained no anchovy fillets, unlike a typical Caesar salad. Diana Konfederat instead added a dash of the brown condiment to the salad's dressing, saying, 'this has anchovies in it'. 'Please don't come for me for not using fresh anchovies,' she added. 'I don't like them, my kids don't like them.' Although thousands were keen to recreate her version of Caesar salad dressing, many were shocked to discover that anchovies were hiding in the sauce. 'Wait a second. I had no idea Worcestershire sauce had anchovies in it,' said one user. 'I just ran to check my sauce – and yes. I haven't eaten Caesar dressing since I've learned it's in there and all along I've been eating this. I'm dead,' admitted a second. 'My mind is blown, Worcestershire sauce has anchovies?!' yet another commenter exclaimed. 'Never knew that Worcestershire sauce contained anchovies,' a fourth added. However, several admitted they'd always steered clear of Caesar salad because of the fish, but were pleased to discover that Worcestershire sauce could be used to recreate that delicate, salty, fishy taste. 'YAY I've always wanted a non-fishy Caesar recipe,' one user wrote. 'This looks bomb – I hate anchovies, so this I could do,' someone else said. Anchovies are included in Worcestershire sauce to impart a deep, savoury, and umami flavour. This umami, frequently characterised as a 'meaty' or 'brothy' taste, arises from the fermentation process and the natural compounds present in the anchovies. The anchovies are matured in vinegar, which helps in breaking them down and releasing these flavour compounds and contributing to the sauce's distinctive character. As a result, many Worcestershire sauces aren't vegan. However, if you are vegan or simply don't like anchovies, plenty of fish-free Worcestershire sauce brands exist. Vegan Worcestershire sauces include ingredients like molasses, tamarind, and vinegar to give the same complex, delicious flavour without the fish. For example, the home brand Woolworths Worcestershire sauce contains no anchovies, nor does the Coles home brand version. Popular brand Lea & Perrins does, however, contain anchovies.
