K-pop group I-dle and Chinese singer Cai Xukun to headline inaugural Bubbling & Boiling festival in Singapore
Bubbling & Boiling Music and Arts Festival, a popular event from China, will be in Singapore for the first very time this September. The inaugural Bubbling & Boiling Music and Arts Festival Singapore will take place at the Resorts World Ballroom of Resorts World Sentosa on Sep 13 and 14. On Friday (Jul 25), organisers announced that K-pop group I-dle and Chinese singer Cai Xukun will headline the festival on each day, respectively. The team also hinted that more acts will be revealed in the coming weeks. 'Since this is the new chapter of our group, I think it's a good time to rebrand,' said the Thailand-born singer. He eventually won first place for the latter series and became a member of the C-pop boy band Nine Percent. Following the group's disbandment, Kun has established himself as a popular solo artiste with numerous brand deals and hit songs to his name. His last concert in Singapore was in 2023. SINGAPORE - K-pop girl group I-dle and Chinese pop idol Cai Xukun will be headlining the upcoming Bubbling & Boiling Music and Arts Festival at Resorts World Ballroom. The festival from China is making its overseas debut in Singapore. According to the event's website and social media accounts, I-dle will be performing on Sept 13 and Cai on Sept 14. The full artiste line-up and ticket information has yet to be announced. I-dle, formerly known as (G)i-dle, consist of five members - Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua. They rebranded themselves with the name change in May, and released a special EP, We Are I-dle, that same month. They debuted in May 2018 and are famous for songs such as Latata (2018), Oh My God (2020) and Hwaa (2021). Cai, 26, rose to fame in 2018 after taking part in Chinese reality show Idol Producer, in which he finished first. He then became the leader of temporary boy band Nine Percent, formed by the top nine-placed contestants of Idol Producer, before they disbanded in 2019. He is known for songs such as Lover (2020), Hug Me (2022) and Deadman (2025), and was a regular cast member of Chinese variety show Keep Running between 2020 and 2023. He previously performed in Singapore at Marina Bay Sands in July 2023 as part of his Kun 2023 World Tour.

Cai Xukun wins defamation case against accusations of coercing abortion
9 Apr - Two years after he was accused of forcing a former girlfriend into an abortion, it was revealed that Cai Xukun has won his case against those who accused him of such. As reported on Oriental Daily, the court recently ruled that two Weibo accounts, Chao Neng Sheying Yang Yang and Donggua Ga have fabricated the news and made defamatory remarks against the singer, and that they must stop their infringement, publicly apologise to Cai and pay compensation for both defamation and part of the legal costs. None of the defendants have expressed intention to appeal. Cai's studio had since released a statement regarding their victory, saying that it was not just a win for them in defending their reputation, but also a strong counter against online rumours. The statement also emphasised that "the Internet is not a lawless place" and the company will continue to take legal measures against any infringement of rights and interests in the future to maintain fairness and justice. It was back in 2023 that Cai found himself at the risk of losing his career, after a woman called Ms. C accused him of impregnating her and then forcing her to get an abortion.
