Jude Benhalim's 'Aura' Looks a Lot Like Regional Sweetheart Zozofits
Aura distills what Jude Benhalim does best, merging old-world technique with her cutting-edge spirit, while inviting women to shape-shift unapologetically along the way. She's got Kendall in her corner, Emily in Paris on her resumé, and now Jude Benhalim - the Cairo-born designer who launched her namesake label at 17 - is lighting up a new frontier with The Aura Collection, in collaboration with London-based fashion disruptor Zozo Fits. THE MUSE This time, the muse isn't one woman. It's all of them. Zozo Fits - fashion blogger, entrepreneur, shape-shifter - is the embodiment of Jude's latest obsession: the multiplicity of aura. That invisible forcefield of feeling, energy, and self that changes with place, mood, era. 'One human can have multiple auras,' Jude says. 'I'm a living example of that, and so is Zozo.' THE COLLECTION DISSECTED A year in the lab, literally. That's how long it took Jude to crack the code on luminous resin, a sculptural material that glows from within. Each piece in the Aura Collection is hand-carved and painted on the inside, giving it a soft, surreal translucence that shifts with the light. Think weightless geometry meets liquid colour, while 24-carat gold-plated copper and rhodium accents bring the glint. Colourways include: pink, orange, sage green, lime green, blue, and white -each a coded aura in motion. 'It has always been about breaking boundaries for me, even if it gets tedious,' Jude says. HOW TO STYLE IT Roni Helou - Dara Dress in Black Sculptural without being stiff. This fluid cutout dress in bone or slate grey acts like a canvas for AURA's architectural jewellery. Thuna - Wisal Silver Heel Sleek, reflective, and minimal. The silver mirror finish echoes the shine of the AURA cuffs without overcomplicating the look. Dara Hamarneh - Valleta in Silver Satin Soft structure meets metallic sheen. The compact shape and cool tone balance out AURA's acrylic forms. Port Tanger - Nunny Sunglasses in Frosty Blue Acetate Oversized frames with sculpted acetate contours. The transparency and shape echo the visual language of AURA's acrylic elements. Gissah - Salvia A dry floral with soft metallic spice. Clean, present, and modern—designed to live well next to cool metal and glass skin. WHERE TO WEAR IT This look was built for glassy rooftops and gallery openings with bad lighting (but great selfies). Think Art d'Égypte at the pyramids, Hayy Jameel in Jeddah, or a low-key power brunch at Em Sherif Café in Dubai. The AURA jewellery hits best under filtered sun or moody LEDs - so anywhere with reflections, chrome accents, or a mirrored bathroom is fair game. THE VERDICT Aura is a glow-up in every sense. It distills what Jude Benhalim does best, merging old-world technique with her cutting-edge spirit, while inviting women to shape-shift unapologetically along the way.

The Graphic Edit with Nob Designs Founder Ahmed Nabil
The Graphic Edit with Nob Designs Founder Ahmed Nabil When the statement piece is a literal statement…Ahmed Nabil's styles his iconic graphics in this edition of The Scene Selects. It's been ten years since Ahmed Nabil launched Nob Designs, a Cairo-born label that treats language as material and the graphic tee as a public platform. What began with a few statement tops has grown into a regional fixture - worn by celebrities, style disruptors and, more crucially, by anyone who understands that clothes can speak before you do. Nabil's signature is a kind of fashion linguistics. Whether printed with biting social commentary or phrases lifted straight from WhatsApp group chats, his pieces toe the line between wearable slogan and, well, not-so-wearable slogan. This edition of The Scene Selects spotlights Nob's Graphic Edit - an unapologetic collection that turns everyday speech into a design language of its own. These are garments with an opinion. Less trend, more transcript. The slogans don't just decorate; they assert, provoke, and often outshine everything else in the outfit. Egypt's Concrete Opens First Gulf Flagship at Abu Dhabi's Reem Mall
Known for its Italian-informed refinement, Egyptian label Concrete makes its Gulf debut with a new flagship in Abu Dhabi's Reem Mall — a space as deliberate and elegant as the garments it holds. May 15, 2025 It's not just a store. It's a statement - of intent, of identity, and of what it means to design with quiet conviction. Concrete, the Cairo-born fashion house that has quietly shaped Egyptian menswear since 1989, has just opened its first location in the Gulf. The new flagship, situated in Abu Dhabi's Reem Mall, marks more than a geographic expansion. It's a reflection of a brand that has always chosen depth over noise, tailoring over trend, and form over fuss. Designed by international architect Franco Ferrarese, the space is an architectural continuation of Concrete's design philosophy. Inside, clean lines meet warm finishes, and precision never comes at the cost of ease. It's a store that doesn't shout — but it doesn't disappear either. Much like the garments themselves, it holds its presence with purpose. Since its founding, Concrete has carved out a distinct place in the region's style landscape. Drawing from Italian tailoring traditions while remaining rooted in the realities of Middle Eastern life, the label has long championed a wardrobe that bridges the old and the new, the refined and the functional. From sharply cut suits to contemporary separates, Concrete's collections speak in a language of restraint - confident, not performative. The Reem Mall location also features the brand's limited women's capsule - a refined edit of pieces designed for the iconic women of today. Sleek, tailored, and unapologetically modern, the collection brings Concrete's design ethos into a new conversation, without losing the architectural clarity it's known for. The opening of the Reem Mall store is a natural evolution - a considered step into the Gulf that aligns with the brand's rhythm of expansion: intentional, thoughtful, and meticulously executed. This isn't about a splashy regional takeover. It's about presence. Craft. And building something that lasts.
