Images show vehicles connected to deadly hit-and-run crash
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Authorities, along with San Diego County Crime Stoppers, are looking for two vehicles involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash last month in the Clairemont Mesa East area.
The incident occurred on March 29 around 1:28 a.m. in the 6900 block of Balboa Avenue.
A 36-year-old was riding his e-bike home from work westbound on Balboa Avenue when the victim was hit by two vehicles back-to-back, according to police.
Both vehicles left the scene, while the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the hospital.
One of the suspect vehicles is described as a white vehicle, possibly a 2015-2023 DodgeCharger, due to the taillight pattern, likely with a California Legacy license plate (blackwith yellow lettering). The vehicle could have dents in the front by the bumper, hood and passenger side of the windshield.
The other vehicle is described as a gray Mercedes E-Class, with the roof of the Mercedes having what appears to be black or dark glass. The vehicle may have damaged parts to the lower front bumper.
A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information that leads to arrest in the case. You can call SDPD's Traffic Division at 858-573-5002 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 888-580-8477.
