Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar Ali was found dead in her Karachi apartment. A voice message allegedly sent by her before her death has gone viral, shared by her friend. Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali was found dead in her apartment in Karachi. Her body was in a highly decomposed state. A few days after the tragic incident, a voice message she reportedly sent shortly before her death has gone viral on social media. The message was shared by her close friend, Dureshehwar. In the voice note, Humaira can be heard saying, 'I'm so sorry, I was travelling, caught up here and there. I'm so happy tum Makkah me ho. [Please pray a lot for me… Pray a lot from your heart for your cute friend/sister. For my career, please remember me in your prayers. You have to pray a lot for me]." In a shocking twist to the death of Humaira Asghar, it has now been reported that although her body was discovered in her Karachi apartment just this week, she actually passed away around nine months ago. According to Arab News, Humaira is believed to have died in October 2024. Due to the long gap, her body was found in an 'advanced stage of decomposition." This has been confirmed by Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed, who conducted the post-mortem examination. 'As per Call Detail Record (CDR) the last call was made in October 2024," Deputy Inspector General of Police Syed Asad Raza told the publication. In addition, the report states that Humaira was last seen by her neighbours in September or October 2024. Interestingly, the only other apartment on her floor was unoccupied at the time, which is why no one noticed any unusual smell coming from her flat. This detail helps explain how her death went unnoticed for so many months. Not just this, officials also revealed that electricity of Humaira's house was also disconnected in October 2024 due to non-payment of bills. 'Humaira's body is likely nine months old. She probably died between paying her last utility bills and when her electricity was disconnected in October 2024, probably due to non-payment of the bill," one of the officials said. Another official also revealed that the food in the actress' home had also been expired for months. 'The jars had rusted, and food had expired six months ago," the official said. Humaira Asghar was known for her appearance on ARY's reality show Tamasha Ghar and for her role in the 2015 film Jalaibee. But her talents went far beyond acting. According to her Instagram bio, she was also a theatre artist, painter, sculptor, and a fitness enthusiast. With over 713,000 followers on the platform, she had built a strong presence online. Her final Instagram post, dated September 30, 2024, featured a series of candid photos. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. 100 phone numbers, e-commerce and UPI platforms: how Delhi Police tracked gang which cheated woman of Rs 11 lakh through Telegram ‘paid task scam'
The Delhi Police said they have busted a Telegram 'paid task' scam allegedly being operated by an Indian medical student in Russia after tracing two chains of bank accounts wiring the money to the accused, and arrested five people. According to the Delhi Police, they arrested Kartik Saini, 20; Varun Kumar, 21; Sharim Khan, 20; Humaid Khan, 20; and Suhail Saifi, 20, after conducting raids in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut and Muzzafarnagar. The police said all of them were allegedly on the payroll of the Russia-based MBBS student Sameer Malik. According to the police, the case came to light when a woman from Shastri Nagar filed a complaint on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) claiming that she lost Rs 11 lakh while doing 'paid tasks' for a Telegram channel. 'During the inquiry, the victim said she came across a link on Telegram promoting paid tasks. She was promised money for writing reviews and liking videos,' Raja Banthia, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), said. The fraudsters told the woman that she had earned money through these tasks, but she would have to pay upfront as proof of her legitimate bank account credentials to receive the amount. 'She was then told that she would have to transfer different amounts to different accounts as the money she had earned would be transferred to her through different accounts,' a police officer said. The woman was made to pay Rs 11 lakh in different accounts. Out of the Rs. 11 lakh, Rs 2.75 lakh were transferred using Varun Kumar's chain of accounts, and Rs. 2.80 lakh were credited to accounts maintained by Humaid Khan, who also transferred Rs 1 lakh to Saifi in his account for his services, the police said. A team — under Inspector Rohit Gahlot, SHO, Cyber Police Station, and Inspector Manish Kumar — tracked the phone numbers used to send the links through Telegram. The Call Detail Record (CDR) details of these phone numbers showed that they contacted more than 100 numbers, with the police tracking all of them along with their online and offline activities. 'Hundred mobile numbers and IMEIs were tracked, and a thorough search of the money trail among several bank accounts was continuously carried out. Access details from e-commerce and UPI platforms such as PhonePe, Paytm, Rapido, Porter, Swiggy, Zomato, and Bluedart were also taken,' said Banthia. Four common numbers were identified during the tracking, which sent most of the links and were also contacting each other. The location of those numbers led the police to Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. On June 25, the police got hold of Kartik Saini and Varun Kumar after a raid in Meerut. 'Kartik Saini disclosed that he opened accounts and provided all the net banking IDs, passwords, corporate IDs, and account-linked SIMs to Varun Kumar, and got Rs. 8,000 for each account. Varun Kumar disclosed he provided the details of these accounts to a man named Yash, for a commission of 5 per cent on each transaction,' Banthia said. Yash, the police said, was working for Malik, who was orchestrating the fraud. Yash would get the scammed amount transferred to the accounts given by Varun, who would then ask Kartik to encash it. Varun would then take the cash and transfer the amount to Yash using USDT. Yash would send the same to Russia, the police said. The police said the money trail led them to another chain of accounts at play in the alleged scam. Following the trail of the money, the police discovered phone numbers linked to Muzzafarnagar, and on July 7, they arrested Sharim Khan, Humaid Khan, and Suhail Saifi during a raid. 'Sharim Khan and Suhail Saifi disclosed that they opened accounts and provided all the details of the bank account to Humaid Khan,' DCP Banthia said. Humaid, the police said, was again wiring the amount to Sameer in Russia, just like Varun. With more than half of the complainant's amount still untraced, the police said other factors could also be at play, and that an investigation is going on.

Pakistani Actress Humaira Asghar Ali Laid To Rest In Lahore Nine Months After Death
New Delhi: Pakistani model and actress Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was discovered earlier this week in her Karachi apartment, was laid to rest in Lahore on Friday evening. Her funeral took place in the Model Town locality and was attended by only a few people. According to police, initial findings do not suggest any foul play in her death. Earlier, her family had reportedly refused to accept her body, having distanced themselves from her after she entered the entertainment industry. Body Found In 'Advanced State Of Decomposition' The post-mortem paints a grim picture. Forensic experts confirmed that Humaira's body was in an "advanced stage of decomposition," with major organs reduced to an "unidentifiable mass and her facial features completely unrecognisable". "Parts of the body were entirely devoid of muscle tissue, and the bones began to disintegrate upon touch," the report stated. It added, "The brain matter was completely decomposed via autolysis, and internal organs turned into a black-coloured mass. The cartilage in joints was absent; however, it said no fractures were detected in bones." Investigators also noted the presence of insects in the remains. "Experts say that these details may help determine the environmental conditions in which she lay undisturbed," the report noted. Further details from the post-mortem mentioned: "According to the post-mortem findings, the head and spine remained intact, but there was no spinal cord as the body was highly decomposed. It further said brown-coloured insects were present, especially in the hair, but no maggots were found." Cause of Death Not Yet Revealed Due to the level of decomposition, the exact cause of death could not be established at this stage. However, Geo News reported that DNA profiling and toxicology tests are currently underway and may provide more clarity. Humaira Asghar's Body Found After Landlord's Complaint The discovery came after Humaira Asghar's landlord filed a complaint over unpaid rent, prompting police to enter the apartment, where they found her body in an "advanced stage of decomposition." The timeline of her death has been pieced together through various details. Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed, who conducted the post-mortem, confirmed the advanced decomposition, supporting the theory that she died several months ago. Last Call Was Made In October Deputy Inspector General of Police Syed Asad Raza told Arab News, "As per Call Detail Record (CDR) the last call was made in October 2024." Neighbours also reported last seeing her around September or October. Electricity Was Cut Off Officials added that the electricity was disconnected in October 2024 due to non-payment, and there were no backup power sources in the apartment. "Humaira's body is likely nine months old. She probably died between paying her last utility bills and when her electricity was disconnected in October 2024, probably due to non-payment of the bill," an official said, also noting that there were no candles in the home. Karachi Neighbours Didn't Notice Anything The only other apartment on Humaira Asghar's floor was unoccupied, so neighbours didn't notice any odour. When some residents returned in February, the smell had already faded. One of her balcony doors was found open, and the water pipes in the home were dry and rusted. What We Know So Far Another investigator pointed out that the food in Humaira's house had long expired. "The jars had rusted, and food had expired six months ago," they said. Initially, police said that her family had refused to claim the body. However, her brother Naveed Asghar later arrived in Karachi to take custody of her remains. A DNA test was conducted as the body was severely decomposed and not visually identifiable. "We have come here and after fulfilling all the legal requirements, have received the dead body," Naveed said. He revealed that Humaira had moved from Lahore to Karachi about seven years ago and had grown distant from the family. She had not visited them for nearly a year and a half. "That is why my father said that if there is any emergency, then you can bury her there [in Karachi]," he said, explaining the family's earlier reluctance. He also questioned the investigation process, asking, "Whatever matters took place with the landlord, did any of you interview him?" Who Was Humaira Asghar Ali? Hailing from Lahore, Humaira Asghar Ali embarked on her journey in the entertainment industry in 2015. She was seen playing supporting roles in a series of television shows such as Just Married, Ehsaan Faramosh, Guru, and Chal Dil Mere. As for films, she was seen in Jalaibee (2015) and later in Love Vaccine (2021). She gained further recognition in 2022 when she joined Tamasha Ghar, a reality show which aired on ARY Digital.
