Finn Wolfhard announces details of 2025 UK and European tour

Finn Wolfhard has announced details of his 2025 UK and European tour. Titled Objection!, it is in support of the 21-year-old Stranger Things actor's debut solo album Happy Birthday. Finn, who previously fronted the bands Calpurnia and The Aubreys, released the album in June, accompanied by the nostalgic lead single Choose The Latter and the reflective track Trailers After Dark. He will kick off the Objection! tour on 4 October with a show at La Maroquinerie in Paris, before continuing through Berlin, Manchester and Dublin. The run will conclude with a headline performance at London's Electric Brixton on 16 October. Speaking to NME earlier this year, Finn reflected on the creative process behind the album and credited his Stranger Things co-stars Joe Keery and Maya Hawke as key musical influences. He said: '(Joe) was a gigantic inspiration to me and another mentor. 'While filming, Joe and Maya were part of a fun group chat challenge where they would both write and submit a song every week. 'And I still text Joe to ask him what he thinks about song ideas. I'm hoping we can make music together – even if I wasn't credited.' Joe, 32, who plays Steve Harrington in Stranger Things, performs under the moniker Djo and released his third album The Crux in 2023. Finn joined Joe on stage in Toronto earlier this year for a live performance of Flash Mountain, a track from Djo's 2019 debut album Twenty Twenty. The actor's tour news arrives alongside the continued expansion of the Stranger Things franchise. A new animated spin-off, Stranger Things: Tales From '85, is in production at Netflix. The show is being executive-produced by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, alongside Shawn Levy, 55, who directed Deadpool and Wolverine. No casting or plot details have yet been confirmed. In a statement to Netflix's Tudum, the Duffer brothers said: 'We've always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realised has been absolutely thrilling.' They continued: 'We couldn't be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with – the scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can't wait to share more with you! The adventure continues… .'

'I'm still that kid': Finn Wolfhard on Stranger Things and his debut solo album

At age 12, Canadian actor Finn Wolfhard shot to fame after landing the role of a lifetime on the hit Netflix show Stranger Things. But growing up in the spotlight wasn't always easy. The day after the show came out, Wolfhard started experiencing feelings of anxiety that eventually resulted in severe panic attacks. Fans would often conflate him with his Stranger Things character, and he felt like he had little control over his public image or his artistic life. Plus, he was so focused on working that he missed out on some of the big coming-of-age milestones that other kids his age had, like going to prom. Now, Stranger Things is coming to an end and Wolfhard has launched a solo music career with his newly released debut album, Happy Birthday. In an interview with Q 's Tom Power in his hometown of Vancouver, the 22-year-old actor says he's "establishing some kind of freedom." WATCH | Finn Wolfhard's full interview with Tom Power: "I spent my entire childhood doing what was safe because I had to," he says. "If you're 12 years old and you're famous, you're on your best behavior. And even now, it's not like I'm going rogue, but I'm definitely exploring other things in my career." While Wolfhard has released music before with the bands Calpurnia and The Aubreys, this is the first time he's gone out on his own. His new song Crown explores his childhood while asserting a more grown-up identity. "That song is basically me being like, 'I'm still that kid from that show, but I am now older and now my own person.' … I wanted these lyrics that were kind of childlike and talking about nostalgia and talking being a child, but like with this kind of gnarly, loud song." WATCH | Official live performance video for Crown: When Wolfhard was writing the album from about 18 to 20, he was thinking a lot about his transition from childhood to adulthood. That reflection only intensified when filming for the series finale of Stranger Things wrapped up last year. "[This record] is just me asking myself all these questions that I didn't get to ask myself in high school," he says. "Just like, 'Who am I? Who am I to people? Why do I act this way?'" Though Wolfhard is now seeking some separation from Stranger Things, he says he feels extremely lucky and grateful to have had such an incredible opportunity. "That's why I never am jaded about the show ever," he says. "I don't care that I'll be 50 and someone comes up to me and is like, 'You're the kid!' Like, that's great. I'm so proud of that show." Noah Schnapp cried when Stranger Things ended

Noah Schnapp felt "very sad" at the end of Stranger Things. The 20-year-old actor has played Will Byers in the hit Netflix show since 2016, and Noah has confessed to being overcome with emotion at the end of the fifth and final season. Speaking to E! News about the final season, Noah teased: "It's beyond anything we've done yet. It's so big and so intimate and so heartfelt and probably the most emotional work we've done. "Prepare for tears." Noah confessed to shedding tears on his last day of filming. The actor - who stars alongside the likes of Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, and Millie Bobby Brown on the show - shared: "The first day on set felt like any other thing, but the last day on set was really the craziest. "I'll never forget that day. It was very sad and perfect." Asked which of the cast members was most emotional on the last day of filming, Noah replied: "Probably me. I'm just so sensitive. "I mean, everyone was crying. We all love each other, so it's hard to part ways." Meanwhile, Finn Wolfhard previously confessed to being in a state of "shock" after he wrapped filming Stranger Things. The 22-year-old actor made his debut as Mike Wheeler on the Netflix series in 2016, and Finn revealed via social media that he was still adjusting to his new reality. The actor wrote on Instagram: "We just wrapped Stranger things Season 5. I'm still in shock. We shot it for a year and I'll miss all of my friends and our characters terribly. (sic)" Finn observed that he's grown up alongside some of his co-stars, and the actor hopes fans will love the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. The TV star - who also has a passion for music, starring in the bands Calpurnia and The Aubreys - said: "I feel like we're still those people and I'm lucky to still stand beside them today. I hope you'll love this season as much as I do. See you all next year."
