Y&R Twist: Holden's Loyalty Is Tested — Will Claire Be the One to Pay the Price?

Cane Ashby left his guests hanging at the French Riviera. He jetted off to Genoa City on The Young and the Restless, and he had to make some business deals behind their backs. During his time there, he met up with Holden, who had been hanging around and wondering when his lucky break was going to happen. But this could spell trouble for Claire. Holden (Nathan Owens) had planned to go back to Los Angeles. However, he stayed in Genoa City to keep an eye on Audra (Zuleyka Silver). She hasn't warmed up to his good looks and charms. Instead, she's been focused on her relationship with Nate (Sean Dominic). But now, her new interest is in Kyle (Michael Mealor). READ THIS: Why a Claire and Holden romance should happen on Y&R. Holden did strike up a friendship with Claire (Hayley Erin). They've already shared many good drinks and interesting conversations. Holden even helped Claire overcome her panic attack with some breathwork and more drinks. Since Kyle and Audra are out of town, Holden has even more time on his hands. His luck could change. On the Tuesday, July 1 episode of Y&R, Holden met Cane (Billy Flynn) in the flesh. He was surprised to learn that Cane left his guests behind and headed back to GC. But Cane needs to set up his life there again. He also has an interest in the businesses over there. Cane offered Holden a new opportunity. Of course, as with any new opportunity in Genoa City, it comes with strings attached. Cane wants Holden to get more information about Adam (Mark Grossman), Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), Abby (Melissa Ordway), Mariah (Camryn Grimes), and Claire. This could work financially in Holden's favor, but it won't work for him personally. WATCH THIS: Check out Soap Hub's new podcast, Soap Hub Says here! Holden would ultimately ruin the possibility of a friendship with Claire. She's a smart woman. She could quickly find out what Holden's up to. He can kiss their friendship goodbye if he wants to fraternize with the enemy. In the end, this could affect Claire, especially now that she has close ties to the Newmans. What are your thoughts on Holden's new opportunity? Do you think this will ruin his chances of ever becoming friends (and more) with Claire? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section. The Truth Comes Knocking — Y&R Spoilers Reveal Who Interrupts Cane's July 4 Scheme

The Young and the Restless spoilers for Friday, July 4, leave the country on Independence Day to make their point. Cane said no one could get out of his villa due to weather conditions. But, I guess other people could get in? Cane (Billy Flynn) was obviously lying when he claimed they were trapped in France, since he managed to get out and take a quick flight to Genoa City for a tête-à-tête with Holden (Nate Owens). Victor (Eric Braeden) is sure that he knows everything going on, and that he's eight steps ahead of Cane in every way. So why hasn't he figured out that they can leave at anytime? Knowing Victor, it's because he wants Cane to think that Victor thinks that Cane thinks that Victor thinks they're trapped. But, in reality, it's Victor who is pulling all the strings. Or so he thinks. In any case, Victor has another surprise for his host. READ THIS: Is Phyllis really a power player? Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) has complete faith in Victor. Victor is always right, and he always knows what's best, and any decision he makes is the right one, and his family comes first, which is why they are all so happy and never want for anything. But… even though Victor swore that he's not selling Chancellor Enterprises and Nikki will remain its head, Nikki is… vaguely concerned. Not because she's starting to doubt Victor. No one ever should, or, honestly, ever could doubt Victor. But, you know… Nikki is… a little bit worried. WATCH THIS: Check out Soap Hub's new podcast, Soap Hub Says here! If Cane could leave France and come back, so can anyone. Which is why Adam (Mark Grossman) pops up at the going on a week now party. Will Adam's presence break the lies wide open? Or will everyone wonder how he got there — and why they were forbidden from leaving before then? Got a red hot theory about your favorite soap storyline? What Happened to Cane on 'The Young and the Restless'?

What Happened to Cane on 'The Young and the Restless'? originally appeared on Parade. The Young and the Restless just revealed Cane Ashby is back in the mix, and he's the infamous Aristotle Dumas. However, Lily's (Christel Khalil) ex-husband has a whole new look this time around. Daniel Goddard created the role of Cane in 2007. In 2019, the actor was let go from the CBS soap after Daniel and Lily finalized their divorce spring, Goddard got the rumor mill buzzing that he was returning to Y&R, but that was not the case. Goodard joinedGeneral Hospital in the mystery role of Henry Dalton. In what was probably one of the worst-kept secrets in the soap world, Days of Our Lives star Billy Flynn has taken over the role of Cane. News broke in March that Flynn had wrapped his run on Days of Our Lives and had joined The Young and the Restless. After the not-so-big reveal, Flynn spoke with TV Insider about this new version of Cane. 'What Daniel did was amazing — he was great as Cane — and obviously, the relationship that Cane and Lily had is a testament to their work. Cane is a fascinating character. Essentially, we're going to rebrand it a bit, so they have a closer age range, and I don't have a sexy accent. I can't replicate it, so I'm going to do my thing. When people see this Cane and the relationship that I have as Cane with Lily, I think they'll be happy,' he spilled. One thing that won't change is the fact that Lily has always been the great love of Cane's life. From what we have seen, Flynn and Khalil appear to have great chemistry, which is a plus for fans accepting a new actor in a role. Cane Ashby is back on The Young and the Restless with a new look, a new vibe, and a new alias. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. What Happened to Cane on 'The Young and the Restless'? first appeared on Parade on Jun 20, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 20, 2025, where it first appeared.

The Young and the Restless spoilers: Cane reveals himself as Aristotle Dumas, but does he have an even bigger surprise coming?

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. We hate to brag, but we told you so. After months of dealing with The Young and the Restless mystery of who's behind Aristotle Dumas, in the episode airing on June 20, the big reveal occurs, and it's Cane Ashby, now played by Billy Flynn. Of course, we can't call ourselves surprised as we've been speculating that Cane was Aristotle for a while, given the timeline of Aristotle's emergence and his fascination with the Winters family and Chancellor. The big unveiling happens at Aristotle's big shindig at his Nice summer home. After most of Aristotle's invited guests complete the maze he had them navigate through, Amanda (Mishael Morgan) pulls Lily (Christel Khalil) to the side and says that Aristotle would like to introduce himself to her before he makes his debut to the rest of the Genoa City residents present. A skeptical Lily follows Amanda until they reach Cane, who has his back to Lily. As soon as Amanda leaves, Cane turns around, and Lily is left completely stunned. At first, she assumes Cane is just crashing the party. But then he insists that he's actually Aristotle and has been using the alias to become a billionaire tycoon (in six years). Apparently, he wanted the allure of Aristotle to be separate from his actual identity as Cane. Lily becomes furious with all the stunts Cane has pulled and the deception. When she asks if he forced their twins to lie about his 'double life,' he's adamant he didn't. She understandably wants more of an explanation for all of this, and he tells her she'll get one, but after he shows his face to his other party guests first. A fuming Lily storms off to try and reunite with Devon (Bryton James) and Damian (Jermaine Rivers), but she gets lost along the way, causing her to panic. When she screams for help, Devon and Damian come to her rescue, and she tells them all about Cane. Both men are left flabbergasted. Fast forward to the end of the episode, and Cane appears in front of the rest of the partygoers, and everyone is shocked except for Victor (Eric Braeden). Apparently, he already knew Cane was Aristotle. Having said all of that, we can't help but think Cane has one surprise in store for Victor that he didn't see coming. After all, with Victor being a masterful tactician and ruthless businessman, if Cane really is after Chancellor, he's going to need one heck of a plan to get it. Fueling our hunch that Cane has a big reveal for Victor in store is the following preview/behind-the-scenes clip. In it, Adam (Mark Grossman) pops up in France to join the Newmans. He wasn't originally invited, and he had no plans on going to Europe, but he made the trip to deliver some important information he's learned about Aristotle that Victor's 'not going to like.' So what could Cane have waiting for the Newman patriarch? We can't say. However, with Chance (Conner Floyd) also arriving in Nice soon, perhaps Cane was able to gather evidence to prove Victor committed a crime in Genoa City (or Cane is framing Victor for a crime), and Chance is there to haul Victor to prison. We also can't rule out the possibility we raised weeks ago that Cane somehow was able to get a foothold into Newman Enterprises. Cane attacking Victor's crown jewel is actually brilliant if he's able to use the attack as leverage to get Victor to begrudgingly part ways with Chancellor. For now, even with Cane revealing himself as Aristotle, we're left with more questions than answers about his motive and future intentions. New episodes of The Young and the Restless air weekdays on CBS. Episodes become available to stream on Paramount Plus the next day.
