Canon announced its continued support for photojournalists at the 36th Visa pour l'Image festival this September. The event will take place during Pro Week from September 1 to 6 in Perpignan, France. Canon revealed it will award two independent project grants and bring together industry experts to foster meaningful exchange at its dedicated Canon space.
This year, Canon announced the recipients of its prestigious grants. French photojournalist Marion Péhée received the Canon Female Photojournalist Grant for her ongoing project on young adults in Ukraine. She was awarded €8,000 to continue her photographic investigation. Additionally, Shiho Fukada was presented with the sixth Canon Video Grant for her short-film documentary 'Echoes of Little Tokyo,' reflecting on a family-run funeral home in Los Angeles.
Canon also revealed it invited Reuters to showcase a selection of images from the upcoming book 'In the Moment,' celebrating 40 years of Reuters photojournalism. The book will be printed by Canon and exhibited at the Palais des Congrès during the festival.
Furthermore, Canon Professional Services (CPS) will provide accredited photographers with free equipment check-and-clean services at the Canon space. Photographers can also speak with Canon experts, test the latest cameras on loan, and print images using Canon's fine art printers. Canon continues 36-year partnership with Visa pour l'Image
