Cape Breton youth charged following robbery

Cape Breton Regional Police has charged a youth following a robbery that took place on King Street in North Sydney on Thursday. Police say officers responded to the area and spoke to a 12-year-old boy who was approached by another youth that produced a firearm and demanded money. The suspect then fled on foot, no injuries were reported, a release from the Cape Breton police said. Police located the 16-year-old male suspect and charged him with: robbery with a firearm using a firearm in the commission of an offence pointing a firearm possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose carrying a concealed weapon uttering threats to cause bodily harm possession of property obtained by crime The youth is in custody and will appear in a Sydney provincial court Monday, July 14 in relation to the charges. Two arrested after kilo of cocaine, firearms seized in Cape Breton

Cape Breton Regional Police has charged two people with 16 drugs and weapons charges. Street Crime officers executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a property on Shore Road in Florence on May 8. The officers seized one kilogram of cocaine, along with other drug paraphernalia, cash, two firearms and ammunition. Todd Christopher White, 56, and Tanya Leann Young, 45, were arrested at the scene. Both were later charged with: possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine possession of property obtained by crime careless use of a firearm and ammunition (four counts) unauthorized possession of a firearm (two counts) and with knowledge (two counts) possession of a weapon obtained by crime (two counts) possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (two counts) two breaches of the firearms act White is also charged with two breaches of probation.
