Carson Hocevar crash forces early 7-car pileup in NASCAR Chicago street race

Carson Hocevar caused a seven-car pileup to open the NASCAR Chicago street race. Hocevar clipped the inside of the turn 11 curve, ricocheting him to the outside wall on turn 11 on lap 3 of the Grant Park 165 street race in Chicago. Hocevar crashed off the outside wall and moved up to the inside before twisting back toward the outside wall. Advertisement Austin Dillon was the first to be collected as he had nowhere to go with Hocevar's car in front of him. Brad Keselowski, Daniel Suarez, Todd Gilliland, Will Brown and Riley Herbst also were collected in the crash. The crash forced a red flag to stop the race, allowing racing officials to untangled the cars. Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he is 'heartbroken' after the death of Diogo Jota in a car crash in Spain. Jota had been brought to Liverpool under Klopp's management, joining from Wolves in a £45million deal. The forward played under Klopp for four seasons, before the German stepped down Liverpool manager at the end of the 2024-25 season. Klopp reacted to the tragic news on Instagram, paying tribute to a 'great friend' and 'fantastic player. 'This is a moment where I struggle! There must be a bigger purpose! But I can't see it,' Klopp wrote. 'I'm heartbroken to hear about the passing of Diogo and his brother André. 'Diogo was a not only a fantastic player, but also a great friend, a loving and caring husband and father! We will miss you so much! 'All my prayers, thoughts and power to Rute, the kids, the family, the friends and everyone who loved them!

The Portuguese Football Federation has announced that it is devastated by the death of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva in Spain this morning. "The club have been informed the 28-year-old has passed away following a road traffic accident in Spain along with his brother, André," Liverpool said in a statement on Thursday. Advertisement The club added that it won't make further comments at this time and asked privacy of Jota's family, friends, team-mates and club staff to be respected as "they try to come to terms with an unimaginable loss." Jota died in a car crash in Spain in the early hours of Thursday. According to the BBC, the Spanish Guardia Civil said in a statement that the car, a Lamborghini, left the road due to a tyre blowout while overtaking. The Guardia Civil said that the accident happened in the early hours of Thursday in the municipality of Cernadilla in the province of Zamora. According to the statement, "the car caught on fire and the two occupants were killed."
