BTS members reunite for livestream, shares comeback plans

All seven members of BTS came together and reunited for a livestream! On Tuesday evening (PH time), the K-pop group went live on Weverse for the first time since taking a break for their mandatory military service. During their livestream, the boys mentioned targeting to release their new album and also go on tour in Spring 2026. It was in 2022 when BTS started focusing on their solo projects and began their South Korean mandatory military service. Suga was the final member of the group to be discharged. The seven members were all spotted during J-Hope's Hope on the Stage Final concert in Seoul, South Korea on June 13, which was also BTS' 12th anniversary. In March, BTS announced new projects: video and photobook "BTS 7 Moments" and board game "Run BTS Poly Highlight Package." —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News

'24 Oras' special reports on POGO win silver at US International Awards

GMA Integrated News' flagship program "24 Oras" has been honored with a Silver Award at the prestigious US International Awards for its in-depth and comprehensive reporting on the impact of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in the country. According to Sandra Aguinaldo's report on "24 Oras," Thursday, the winning reports were recognized in the "Documentaries & Reports - Social Issues" category. The special reports, which aired in December and January, delved into the dark and bloody world of POGO and exposed issues ranging from syndicates involved in various forms of fraud to human trafficking incidents and even cases of torture. In addition to "24 Oras," "Unang Balita" was also recognized as a finalist in the "Documentaries & Reports - Environment, Ecology & Sustainability" category for its report titled "Pinsala ng El Niño." The US International Awards celebrate the finest branded video productions and documentaries from around the globe. In 2015, it also awarded "24 Oras" a Silver Screen Award for its special coverage of Typhoon Mario. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News

GMA Network declines TAPE's settlement offer

GMA Network did not accept the amount offered by Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. to settle its debt. According to Mel Tiangco's report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, the two parties attended a mediation meeting in line with the estafa complaint that GMA filed against TAPE. GMA Network is demanding P37.9 million from the owners of TAPE Inc. for the airtime fees that TAPE Inc. failed to remit to GMA. However, TAPE Inc.'s settlement offer at present is not enough. The case will now be re-raffled to another prosecutor who will conduct a preliminary investigation into the matter. GMA Network, Inc. filed a criminal complaint for estafa with abuse of confidence against officers of TAPE Inc. for the misappropriation of funds totaling P37,941,352.56. The complaint stems from the respondents' failure to remit advertising revenues collected from clients, which had been contractually assigned to GMA Network under a 2023 Assignment Agreement. Despite multiple formal demands, the funds were not transferred to GMA because they were instead used for TAPE's operational expenses, in violation of the trust arrangement outlined in the agreement. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News
