The 19th Annual Aviation Education & Career Expo is set to take place at Hagerstown Regional Airport on Nov. 7, according to an announcement. Organized by Rider Jet Center and Paragon Aviation Group, the event is the largest aviation career fair in the Mid-Atlantic region. It aims to inspire students ages 16 to 22 to explore careers in aviation and aerospace. The expo is expected to draw more than 1,000 attendees, including students, educators and parents. It offers a full day of exploration and hands-on discovery in the aviation world. Participants will have the chance to connect with aviation professionals and learn about various high-demand careers in aerospace. This year, the expo will award more than $150,000 in scholarships, including direct monetary awards, school-specific scholarships and flight training packages. The event will feature keynote speakers, live demonstrations and interactive exhibits from more than 60 aviation organizations. Notable participants include representatives from the U.S. military, emergency medical services, law enforcement, government agencies, flight schools, drone operators and aircraft maintenance companies. Julie O'Brien, event co-founder and director of business development for Chantilly Air, emphasized the expo's mission to inspire students and help them achieve their dreams in aviation. "Our theme this year is 'Dream it Today — Live it Tomorrow,' reflecting our mission to reach every student dreaming of a career in aviation and to help them dream big," said O'Brien in the announcement. "We aim to inspire students, provide meaningful mentorship and offer the opportunities they need to turn their dreams into reality." The event will also feature guest speakers and demonstrators, including the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team, former Naval Aviator Micah Lenox, the Washington County Sheriff's K-9 Unit and the Maryland State Police. More than 65 vendors are expected to participate, providing resources, networking opportunities and information tailored for students exploring aviation pathways. Toth Financial Advisory Corporation, a longstanding corporate sponsor, will provide lunch for all students and participating organizations. Other sponsors and scholarship contributors include the Airline Pilots Association, Avfuel Corporation, Greater Washington Business Aviation Association and several anonymous donors. Several universities, colleges and flight training programs will also be present, including Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics and Aero Elite Flight Training.
