Asian Tour poised for thrilling second half as global talent takes center stage
With June drawing to a close, it's the perfect time to take a mid-season look at the fast-evolving landscape of the Asian Tour in 2025. So far, the tour has hosted eight qualifying events, with 15 more to come, including its traditionally strong second half. Major highlights ahead include next month's Open Championship at Royal Portrush, the prestigious $5 million PIF Saudi International in Riyadh in November, and the $1 million Saudi Open presented by PIF in December (venue to be confirmed). Anchoring the schedule are seven more International Series events, the cornerstone of the calendar that kicked off in the Philippines back in January. After a brief pause, action resumes with the $2 million International Series Morocco from July 3–6 at the Red Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam. Both the Asian Tour Order of Merit and the International Series Rankings currently showcase a strong mix of Asian Tour regulars and LIV Golf stars, reflecting the tour's growing international appeal. At the top of the Order of Merit sits Carlos Ortiz (Mexico), while Lucas Herbert (Australia), a former HERO Dubai Desert Classic champion, leads the IS Rankings. Players from seven different countries feature in each top 10 list which is a testament to the global reach of the tour. Notably, Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed both hold top-five positions in the International Series standings. As in previous years, the winner of the IS Rankings earns a coveted spot on the following LIV Golf season, provided they're not already part of its roster. This creates an added layer of incentive for players throughout the year. The LIV Golf investment - which includes the International Series and broader Asian Tour initiatives - continues to elevate the tour, bringing international attention and additional value to all events at a pivotal time in golf's global development. The second half of the season promises even more excitement as players from the Asian Tour, LIV, and other circuits battle it out for prize money, Official World Golf Ranking points, and career-shaping opportunities. Much like the DP World Tour, the Asian Tour, along with its Asian Development Tour (ADT), continues to champion regional talent through partnerships with bodies like the Arab Golf Federation (AGF). These platforms are crucial for nurturing elite amateur and professional players across the Middle East, under the guidance of the Saudi Golf Federation (SGF). Next week's event in Morocco exemplifies this commitment, with players from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and host nation Morocco among those entered so far - a showcase of emerging regional talent alongside seasoned pros. Order of Merit (post-U.S. Open): Carlos Ortiz (Mexico) Sadom Kaewkanjana (Thailand) Ollie Schniederjans (USA) Dongmin Mun (Korea) Ryan Peake (Australia) International Series Rankings (post-U.S. Open): Lucas Herbert (Australia) Carlos Ortiz (Mexico) Ollie Schniederjans (USA) Bryson DeChambeau (USA) Patrick Reed (USA) For full details and schedule updates, visit:

UNT alums Carlos Ortiz and Sebastian Munoz returning home for LIV Golf Dallas
The LIV Golf Tour is making a stop at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton. For UNT alums Carlos Ortiz and Sebastian Munoz, being back in the Dallas-Fort Worth area brings back memories from their college days in Denton. College roots run deep "It just felt like the right place," Munoz said. "I didn't even go on another visit. I really liked the courses that we played ... and I don't know, I just kind of let it roll. And here we are, you know." "Probably almost half of my life I've been here," Ortiz said. "I really feel comfortable. I really feel the people are closer to at home. I feel the family culture here is different than the rest of the United States." UNT alums Carlos Ortiz and Sebastian Munoz CBS Sports Texas Ortiz shines at U.S. Open Ortiz himself has had quite the week. On Sunday, he was tied for the lead at the U.S. Open with four holes to play, finishing tied for fourth — his best finish at a major. The 34-year-old said he took a lot from the experience. "It was definitely an emotional moment ... just because of how hard you have to work that whole week to get in contention and not being able to pull it off ... but overall, pretty happy," Ortiz said. "I did everything I could. I did my best, and that's all you can always do." Home-course advantage at Maridoe Oakmont, as we all saw, can be anything but comforting for a golfer. Maridoe is no walk in the park either, but the good news for Ortiz and Munoz is that they're no strangers to DFW. They feel it's a home-field advantage heading into next week's tournament. "It just feels like my second home," Ortiz said. "People treat me that way, so I'm excited to play in front of a lot of friends and family. You have to be diligent in how you play this golf course, but thankfully, I've been a member here for a while now, and I know how this course can play. I think I will be prepared." Inspiring the next generation The tournament is still a week away, but the two pros are staying busy. Several high school golfers got a putting lesson from both Munoz and Ortiz, who hope to inspire the next wave of players. "We have that same job with the kids of this generation," Ortiz said. "I think that's a responsibility. We have to inspire the new generations to know that if they work hard enough, they can do whatever they want — not only in golf but in life."

How all 14 LIV Golf players fared at 2025 U.S. Open
J.J. Spaun stole the spotlight with his dramatic victory at the U.S. Open on Sunday, but several LIV Golf players posted top-10 finishes in the third major of 2025. The effort was led by Tyrrell Hatton, who was disappointed with his tie for fourth after being in contention throughout Sunday before closing with consecutive bogeys. His 3 over total for the tournament equaled that of playing partner and fellow LIV player Carlos Ortiz. Spain's Jon Rahm was the leader in the clubhouse for a while after pouring in three closing birdies to tie Rory McIlroy for the low round of the day at 67 and climbing to 4 over. He ultimately tied for seventh along with 54-hole leader Sam Burns and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. LIV GOLF FINISHES Carlos Ortiz, 3 over Tyrrell Hatton, 3 over Jon Rahm, 4 over Brooks Koepka, 6 over Patrick Reed, 8 over Marc Leishman, 11 over It wound up as a very respectable showing for the breakaway league after more than half of its entrants missed the cut at Oakmont. That included Joaquin Niemann, a four-time winner on the LIV circuit this year, defending U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson, who had won the most recent U.S. Open at Oakmont in 2016. LIV PLAYERS TO MISS THE CUT Phil Mickelson, 8 over Cameron Smith, 8 over Jinichiro Kozuma, 9 over Bryson DeChambeau, 10 over Dustin Johnson, 10 over Joaquin Niemann, 10 over Josele Ballester, 12 over Richard Bland, 18 over Field Level Media
