Why did a Miami plastic surgery center get suspended? Illegal liposuction
There's a limit to how much fat you can remove during a surgery procedure in Florida and a plastic surgery center in a Doral strip mall exceeded that limit during a liposuction.
So, Dr. Carlos Verdeza's G-Nouva agreed to a office surgery license suspension that'll end July 10. It began Thursday, June 26, exactly six years after Verdeza received the license for the surgery center at 2475 NW 85th Ave.

Verdeza's license as a medical doctor remains clean even though the Florida Department of Health administrative complaint says the surgery was performed by 'Dr. C.V.' Verdeza's the only medical doctor listed among G-Nouva's staff with those initials.
Verdeza, as G-Nouva's owner, must reimburse the Department of Health's case costs, $1,016.

Per the complaint, a woman came to G-Nouva on Oct. 13, 2022 for several cosmetic surgery procedures, namely a liposuction in the abdomen, flanks (aka 'love handles') and back.
Florida Administrative Code 'provides thatmajor liposuction in excess of 1000cc supernatant fat may not be performed in a remote location from any other procedure,' the state complaint said. 'Major liposuction in excess of 1000cc supernatant fat in a remote location from any other procedure was performed on or about Oct. 13, 2022, at (G-Nouva).'
