A woman was in for a heartwarming shock when she woke up and found three puppies in her backyard—despite having no idea how they got there.
Carmen Estrada (@carmenestrada06) shared the surreal moment on TikTok, where it quickly captured viewers' attention, garnering over 103,000 likes and more than 1.4 million views.
"This morning was interesting!! 3 puppies appeared in my backyard! And no! They weren't my Mother's Day present," Estrada captioned the video.
In the first video, Estrada recounted the unexpected discovery as she stepped outside and saw the puppies. She could be heard reacting in real time: "I woke up to a puppy inside that yard … What am I supposed to do, guys?" As more pups appeared, her surprise turned into amazement: "Oh, my god, two puppies! Oh, my god. Hi, babies."
Estrada expressed concern about how the dogs got in, noting, "I have no idea how they got in here," and worried about their well-being: "What's wrong? Babies, what's wrong? What happened? Where's your mom?"
At one point, Estrada wondered aloud, "Is this my Mother's Day present?" as the situation grew increasingly chaotic and adorable. Eventually, she speculated that the dogs may have slipped through a gap in the fence: "It's snowing dogs," she said.
Later in a second video, Estrada updated her followers, explaining that the puppies had found their mother: "Guys, the puppies found their mom and they got out. So I was right." Despite being intimidated by the adult dog, she tried her best to help.
Estrada continued offering food and water while trying to keep the pups safe, even as they repeatedly escaped to be with their mom. Estrada observed that she let the mom eat first.
Estrada asked: "Do we hold them hostage or what?" while trying to figure out what to do next.
In the third video, Estrada said that the puppies' mother grabbed a chicken leg from the alley and ran away, prompting her to follow the puppies to see where they might be headed.

And it turns out, the dog family have a home they all returned to.
The touching and humorous videos sparked a flurry of responses on TikTok.
"Best surprise to find in your backyard," posted Sarah.
"They came under the fence, he was showing you," noted another user.
"Happy Mother's Day you are now a mother of 3 more!" said Bry.
"I've had this happen twice. Both of my neighbor's dogs dug under the fence into my backyard … one went back through the hole on his own and the other I handed back over the fence," shared Chelle.
"They look like husky and German shepherd mix," commented another viewer.
"I must not be writing clearly enough on my wish list!!!!!!! How do I get the puppy distribution system to land on me?" joked Lisa Jones.
