Buffalo Bills mock draft update: Training camp edition
The Buffalo Bills are consistently among the top teams in the AFC, mainly because of quarterback Josh Allen. Allen is the reigning NFL MVP for good reason. Historically, the Bills have relied heavily on Allen and haven't always done their best in putting players around him to make his life easier. When we put together our pre-training camp mock draft update, we decided to take the first two picks and give Allen some help with an elite offensive lineman and a sleeper playmaker at wide receiver. Then we finished things up with a sideline-to-sideline linebacker. FIrst round - OG Emmanuel Pregnon - Oregon Pregnon comes to Oregon as one of the top interior offensive linemen in college football. We love him as a day one starting guard who will anchor the middle of the offensive line with his athleticism and power. Second round - WR Carnell Tate - Ohio State Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka stole all the headlines last season, but this year we expect Tate to pair up with Smith and be a significant playmaker with his size and speed, taking advantage of coverage mismatches. Third round - LB Lander Barton - Utah Barton isn't the biggest or strongest inside linebacker in the draft but he has a high football IQ, excellent instincts and can work sideline-to-sideline. Ohio State football asks you to spot the difference between two Carnell Tate photos
It won't be long before we have a ton of content to look at and consume with Ohio State football, but right now, just before Big Ten media days, it's the offseason, and many of the social media accounts and outlets are having a little fun with teasing the upcoming season. One of the things the Ohio State football creative team has been doing is sharing two photos that appear to be the same, but have subtle differences. The latest is a photo of OSU receiver Carnell Tate sitting by his locker and vibing out to some music with a caption, "spot the 4 differences." This is the second challenge of this nature shared on the Ohio State Football "X" account, and I have to admit, this one was a wee bit easier. See if you too can find the four differences as we continue to tread towards fall camp and the eventual start of the 2025 Ohio State and college football season. This isn't the most exciting content, but a fun little exercise to pass the time. If and when more of this type of stuff is shared, we'll bring it to you as it makes sense. Ohio State's biggest sleeper for repeat title revealed
A lot of players, both new and old, will determine whether or not the Ohio State Buckeyes can win a second straight title. They have a new quarterback, tons of new defensive players, and more. Names like Jeremiah Smith and Julian Sayin figure to be important, but there's one name that a college football insider believes might be a sleeper pick for the defending champs. ESPN analyst Jake Trotter named Carnell Tate the biggest sleeper for the Buckeyes as they attempt to repeat as champions. Tate could never really show out with Emeka Egbuka, a future first-round NFL draft selection, and Jeremiah Smith ahead of him on the depth chart. But with Egbuka gone and Smith likely drawing all the defensive attention now, there's space for a Tate brekout. Advertisement "Tate still played a key role for the Buckeyes, starting every game for the national champions," Trotter said. "In the playoff semifinals against Texas, he made the Longhorns pay for their coverages taking away Smith by hauling in a game-high seven passes for 87 yards... Tate is set to play an ever bigger role for the Buckeyes as a junior. He could easily surpass the 52 receptions and 733 receiving yards he had last season, and he should be a valuable wingman to Smith in yet another talented Ohio State receiving corps." When defenses focused entirely on Smith last year, like against Texas, Tate made them pay. This year, he can do that to help diversify the Buckeyes' offense and make life easier for Sayin. If he does, then he could be a crucial part of what should be another highly successful season in Columbus.

ESPN makes boring selection for Ohio State's \
ESPN came out with a fun article this week, naming a "sleeper" player for every team in their expected Top 25. For the Buckeyes, they pick Carnell Tate. Honestly, Tate was the obvious pick. In a team with such high expectations and so few returning players, there were no other real choices. Basically everyone else returning to the Buckeyes is a veritable star already, and even the under-the-radar defenders returning are more high-profile than Tate. Then again, Tate is pretty high-profile himself. Sure, he was stuck behind Emeka Egbuka on the depth chart this past year, making him the third option in an elite receiver room, but most college football fans know who he is (especially after the Cotton Bowl). Which is why, in a way, ESPN chickened out a bit by going with Tate. As ESPN describes it, "With Egbuka gone to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tate is set to play an ever bigger role for the Buckeyes as a junior." Which is obviously true. At the same time, the Buckeyes receiver room is so stacked that Tate––while certainly a talented playmaker––probably isn't much of a sleeper. A much better pick might have Eddrick Houston or Kayden McDonald on the defensive line. The Buckeyes need to replace a lot of NFL talent in that area, and someone will need to really step up if Ohio State wants to be championship-caliber again. Or if ESPN really wanted a sleeper of an offensive player for the Buckeyes, they could have gone with Brandon Inniss. Inniss should be an impact player for the Buckeyes this year (kind of like Tate last year), and far fewer people know who he is. Honestly, given the fact that Carnell Tate was the main photo ESPN used for their article, it almost feels like they put him up there because he is recognized already. Which he deserves--after all, he is one of the best returning receivers in college football. But it doesn't make him much of a "sleeper," does it?

NFL Draft Summer Scouting Report: Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State
Summer is here, and it is everyone's favorite time of the year, scouting time. Every year, we do Summer Scouting to preview college football for Vikings fans, but also give them an idea of names to follow and watch in the fall as needs pop up for Minnesota. Are we going to write about quarterbacks? You know it, but why? Because other NFL teams will draft them, just as they will draft every other position. It all matters whether these players end up on the Vikings, the Bears, or the Steelers. We write these so Vikings fans can be the most informed fans. So if you are still with us, enjoy our latest Summer Scouting report as we prepare you for the Fall. Player Information Player: Carnell Tate School: Ohio State Height/Weight: 6-3/192 lbs. He does a lot of stuff really well, even if he doesn't do anything great. He has great vision and awareness as a ball carrier that allows him to excel in YAC situations. He has a big frame, he has good body control of that allows him to get leverage in one-on-one situations, and as a result, he has some success on the outside. Tate has some work to do with his route tree and developing more of his athletic traits, but he could be an interesting Day Two or Three option come next April for someone with high upside to bet on.
