Carney Chukwuemeka to RB Leipzig links appear false, Raheem Sterling rumors also refuted
Seemingly reliable reports emerging earlier today regarding RB Leipzig's interest in Chelsea attacker Carney Chukwuemeka are apparently false. Kicker reports that the injury-prone Englishman is not an option for the German Red Bulls. Whether or not the recent Borussia Dortmund loanee plays in the Bundesliga at all next season is up in the air. Dortmund continue to encounter difficulty negotiating a new loan deal for Chukwuemeka with Chelsea. The notion that Dortmund and Leipzig could potentially organize a complicated swap deal for the 21-year-old made for interesting reading, but never was something that could be practically pulled off. Kicker contravened Sky Germany reports regarding Chuwuemeka. Earlier today, it was Sky Germany's turn to contradict the BBC. A sensational BBC report linking 82-times-capped England national team striker Raheem Sterling with a move to Bayer Leverkusen also appears totally false. The German pay-TV broadcaster emphatically denied that Chuwuemeka's fellow Chelsea professional was a candidate at Germany's red company team. GGFN |

Bundesliga Watch: RB Leipzig could stifle Borussia Dortmund and make a play for Chelsea's Carney Chukwuemeka
According to a report from Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, RB Leipzig could be seeking to take advantage of the stalemate between Chelsea FC and Borussia Dortmund for Carney Chukwuemeka: ⚪️ EXCL | RB Leipzig are now pushing to sign Carney Chukwuemeka. Leipzig have opened talks over the 21 y/o central midfielder from Chelsea. Further steps are planned for Wednesday. #CFC ⚠️ Leipzig have now also been informed that Chelsea want to sign Xavi Simons. Dortmund's Kehl: Gittens transfer to Chelsea not finalised

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has dismissed speculation that he met with Bayern Munich board member for sports Max Eberl over a potential sale of Dortmund forward Jamie Gittens to the Bundesliga champions. Federico Gambarini/dpa The transfer of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea is not quite done yet, with Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl saying on Sunday that final details still need to be settled. Both teams are at the Club World Cup in the United States, and Gittens had his Chelsea medical on Saturday. Advertisement The final details likely refer to the volume of the transfer which is said to in the region of €65 million ($76 million). Even if the transfer is completed over the next days, Gittens won't be able to play for Chelsea in the Club World Cup quarter-finals, and possibly beyond, because he was registered and played for Dortmund. Kehl was speaking at an open Dortmund training session in Florida, where he also said that Chelsea loanee Carney Chukwuemeka will stay with them as long as they are in the tournament. Chukwuemeka's loan from England's Chelsea since January originally ends on Monday. Dortmund play their last 16 match against Mexico's Monterrey on Tuesday, and Kehl said the clubs have agreed that he can remain with the Dortmund team.

Borussia Dortmund reach agreement to extend Carney Chukwuemeka's loan
Sebastian Kehl has confirmed that Borussia Dortmund have reached a 'general agreement' with Chelsea to extend the loan of Carney Chukwuemeka until the end of the FIFA Club World Cup. Speaking to reporters in Florida, Kehl said – via Bild: 'There is positive news about Carney. Advertisement 'I conducted discussions with Chelsea. In the end, we have a general agreement that Carney will stay with us as long as this tournament is for Borussia Dortmund. There are still some formalities to be dealt with, but we are very confident that we will continue to see Carney back in a black and yellow jersey at his tournament.' Chukwuemeka's contract originally expires on June 30, but Borussia Dortmund have been working hard to extend the player's loan. At one point, the Bundesliga side did want to sign the Englishman on a permanent basis but a move was financially unfeasible. It's likely that with Jamie Gittens' impending transfer to Chelsea for a reported €65m, that Chukwuemeka remaining at Dortmund for the remainder of the Club World Cup was a part of that deal.
