Love Island fans declare they have found the winners after uncomfortable family and friends episode: 'Give them the money now!'
Love Island fans have declared they have found the winners after a very uncomfortable family and friends episode. As the final week kicked off, the Islanders were treated to visits from their loved ones, but the reunions were more frosty than not. Cacherel Mercer's siblings' had an ice cold meeting with Toni Laites before Megan Moore's family grilled her boyfriend Dejon Noel Williams, branding him a 'player'. Things only got more awkward when Shakira Khan's mum gave Harry Cooksley the cold shoulder, refusing to hug him and demanding he prove himself. But there was a glimmer of hope, in the form of Yasmin Pettet and Jamie Rhodes. The pair, who met during Casa Amor and have been loved-up ever since, have been named by fans as this year's winners after their families' sweet interactions. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, they wrote: 'Yas and jamie to win tbh. this family meeting has solidified it for me,'; 'Yas and Jamie are my winners idc,'; 'Give Yas & Jamie that money pleaseeeeee! Pleaseeeeee,'; 'Well that has sealed it for me Yas and Jamie for the win,'; 'Think I have picked my winners now, got to be Jamie and Yas,'; 'My only wins after today is Yas + Jamie. I love Shakira + Toni but their family meet ups just set a tone on their relationships. The others arent even an option,'; 'Well the families opinion reflect the publics this year truly, every couple is a shambles and should not be together except yas and jamie,'; 'If Yas and Jamie don't win that 50k the UK public needs a good head wobble,'; 'So we all agree that Yas and Jamie are winning, right?!' It came after viewers slammed the parents episode for being uncomfortable, as they said: 'No all these parents hate their children's partners,'; 'Meet the family episodes always use to make me cry, this one just made me uncomfortable, quite like this season as a whole,'; Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans wrote: 'Yas and jamie to win tbh. this family meeting has solidified it for me' 'This has been the most awkward episode of LI I have ever watched. Lol, I'm uncomfortable.' The Islanders' friends and relatives piled into the villa to give their live reactions - as well as some 'needed' candid feedback during the instalment. But viewers were left cringing at one awkward exchange when Cach's siblings, his brother D'Shae and sister Ayjah, entered the house. Fans at home claimed it was 'obvious' the duo didn't like his partner Toni after a series of stern looks were thrown her way. A previous episode saw the couple part ways when Toni decided to recouple with her ex Harrison again, leaving her man Cach in tears as he was forced to partner with Emma - they eventually got back together. But it seems Cach's siblings have not forgiven Toni for the drama, with fans sharing their thoughts on X. During the episode Toni was sitting on the terrace, when suddenly she heard her mum Leslie shout: 'Is Toni here? Where's Toni?' Realising friends and family have come to visit the Villa, she raced down stairs to greet her mum who had flown in from Florida. Her best friend Marielle also made the trip and she joked of being in the Villa: 'It's like meeting our Sims in real life!' As they caught up, talk turned to her daughter's romantic relationships in the Villa, Leslie said: 'The Harrison thing - I'd love to know what voodoo spell he put on you.' 'Sometimes you have to get burned 150 times before you can't get burnt anymore,' Toni replied. Leslie added of Cach: 'You have the most amazing man. His morals, his ethics, his calm demeanour when he is confronted with a bad situation… he is my king.' Meanwhile, Cach caught up with his brother D'Shae and sister Ayjah as they discussed him being upset by Toni and Harrison's actions. Cach admitted: 'You don't understand how embarrassing it was.' His sister said: 'Everyone felt it. It hurt to see you cry,' while his brother D'Shae added: 'I had to look away.' Love Island's Jessy Potts reveals how Joey Essex romance caused one huge villa regret
EXCLUSIVE: Love Island's Jessy has opened up about her time in the villa, and how she felt she was in someone's shadow - but would return for a second stab at love She may have entered the Love Island villa as a bombshell, but Jessy Potts has proven she's got staying power beyond Casa Amor and coupling ceremonies. The 25-year-old former fintech worker swapped spreadsheets for sunsets in the summer of 2024 and has been living the dream ever since her smooth-sailing stint on the show — even if she was somewhat overshadowed by her villa beau. 'I was with one person the whole time — but I feel like I was in someone else's shadow,' Jessy admits candidly of her time in the villa with Joey Essex. 'I was coupled up with Joey and people didn't get to see me for me.' Still, she holds no grudges. 'I don't have any regrets being coupled up with Joey as soon as I got in there. It made my time easy in there.' But with hindsight (and a few red flags waving in the wind), Jessy's perspective on love has shifted in a big way. 'The show changed my perspective on love, now. I am setting boundaries from the start and I need my partner to actually be a nice person. Because when they are nice, you can forget everything else. I am a lover girl so I need my partner to be like that.' It's clear she's done the inner work since leaving the villa, and she's not entertaining any emotional immaturity in 2025. 'When I notice red flags now, I am gone. Red flags mean danger.' Since her exit, Jessy's been 'living the dream', appearing on campaigns, jetting off on glamorous trips, and soaking in the lifestyle shake-up after leaving behind her 9–5 in fintech. 'There's no other show like Love Island that can change your life overnight,' she says. 'I'm finally doing what I'm meant to.' But fame didn't come without its early challenges. Arriving as a bombshell, Jessy was initially met with cold shoulders and admits, 'It was a lonely experience at first.' Still, she found her groove — and her girls — bonding deeply with fellow Islanders Matilda (Draper) and Jess Leigh-Anne, who she calls 'like sisters.' Now, the bubbly blonde is ready for round two. 'Yeah, I actually think I would [do All Stars],' she teases. 'I'd love the chance to show who I really am and actually get to know more people properly.' Move over Joey — Jessy's stepping out of the shadows and into her own spotlight. Jessy also detailed how the divide between the girls in this year's series is more evident than what has been seen before. "You can literally feel it through the screen. I know how easy it can be because when I first went in I was so lonely because I was a bombshell and I had to speak to all the guys so the girls didn't warm to me." The ITV2 dating show is just days away from this year's grand finale and the part-time player has caught the eye of both Shakira Khan and Helena Ford amongst others during his time in the villa. But, Jessy is not impressed. "I'm over it," she said. "Harry's a 30-year-old man — come on. Helena's been playing along with the boys, but it's backfired. I think Shakira and Harry will get back together and last like… 1.5 days!" Love Island 2025 airs every night at 9PM on ITV2 and ITVX.

Love Island's Shaughna Phillips reveals biggest regret over show romance
EXCLUSIVE: Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has opened up about her time in the villa and the heartbreak she faced in Casa Amor, as well as her journey to motherhood Love Island favourite Shaughna Phillips opened up about her unforgettable time on the show, her journey through heartbreak and self-discovery in Casa Amor, and how life has changed since leaving the villa. Shaughna Phillips made a lasting impression during her time on the winter 2020 series of Love Island, quickly becoming a fan favourite thanks to her dry wit, self-awareness, and raw honesty. Speaking to The Mirror exclusively on behalf of Betboo, Shaughna opened up about the emotional rollercoaster of her time in the villa, the fallout of Casa Amor with Callum Jones, and her transformation from reality star to mother – all in her trademark no-nonsense style. Reflecting on the time before she entered the South African villa, Shaughna admits she didn't fully trust her instincts. 'Don't settle for no one,' she says now. 'I was 25 when I went in. I don't know whether I had it in my head that if you're with someone for the longest, you're going to stay in there for the longest. But you just feel that if you're not in a couple, you're not safe. I wish I trusted my gut more.' It was that lack of trust in herself that would be tested to the limit in the show's infamous twist – Casa Amor. Shaughna, who had been coupled up with Callum Jones, was left devastated when he returned from the boys' retreat with new bombshell Molly Smith on his arm. 'I think it was portrayed exactly how it transpired,' she reflects on the scenes that became Love Island legend. 'I just wish it had transpired differently because I was so adamant. They could have sent anyone in – well, not anyone. If they sent Channing Tatum for me, I'd definitely have switched – but I was like, it's better to be loyal and be mugged off than to recouple and look like a doughnut if he came back single.' Despite suspecting Callum wouldn't return alone, she stuck to her guns. 'I always thought he was going to come back with someone,' she admits. 'I wasn't going to let that thought cloud my judgment, but I should have coupled up with someone and hedged my bets.' She now has a message for future islanders: 'Hedge your bets, girls, do not settle.' While Love Island may look like sun-soaked bliss, Shaughna says the truth is very different behind the scenes. 'I've never worked as hard as I worked in that villa. It is long, long hours. It is not all glamorous,' she reveals. 'You've got a producer shouting, '20 minutes left,' and at that moment, you've only got one eyelash on, and your legs are hairy. There is just nothing enjoyable about the getting-ready situation.' And forget lounging around by the pool. 'Even when you're getting ready, it could be three or four o'clock in the morning. You're so tired, you can barely keep your eyes open,' she adds. 'There are still people who need to discuss certain things, and you're like begging these people, just pull this f****** chat out of your ass.' She even recalls pretending to be drunk just to get out of conversations. 'There was one night when I was genuinely acting drunk because I was so tired, I had to get help to bed because I was just delirious.' Since her Love Island journey, life has taken a new direction. Shaughna is now a mum to daughter Lucia, and recently revealed that she's expecting her second child. She shared that her first pregnancy came as a surprise. 'I wasn't trying. I wasn't on any contraception... it just happened way quicker than I was expecting, so it was such a shock,' she said. 'I think I literally went through my contact list and just called every single person.' This time around, she planned a more thoughtful reveal. 'I told Billy straight away. I told my two best friends straight away, and I told my mum straight away, and then after that, I was like, right, now I need to keep my mouth shut.' Shaughna admits she's not the best at keeping surprises. 'I've just got the biggest mouth. That's my issue. It is a blessing and a curse.' Shaughna's weight loss has been the subject of public scrutiny, with many speculating she took Ozempic, something she firmly denies. 'Whatever way anyone wants to achieve [weight loss] is absolutely no one else's business apart from their own,' she says. 'However, you shouldn't just assume that someone's done it with jabs... It's hard, though, when you categorically tell people the way you've done it, and they still think you're lying.' She adds that her transformation came down to health, not image. 'I was getting out of breath walking upstairs – that's just not how I wanted to live.' While she became known for promoting body positivity on the show, Shaughna says the label sometimes feels limiting. 'When I came out of Love Island, I was kind of put into this box of being body positive... but I think whenever I strive to do something else, that's when I get comments.' Even before motherhood, she says she was content. 'Before I was pregnant, I didn't have a weight problem. I'd been on national television in a bikini, I was happy, I was confident.' Shaughna doesn't hesitate when asked about the prospect of Love Island: All Stars. 'Yeah, if my situation were different, a hundred per cent,' she says. 'Even though I've spoken to a few people who have done it and they've said, no, it's as hard, if not harder... I would just enjoy it so much.' Having done it once, she believes the experience would be completely different now. 'I was there for six or seven weeks, and I think it took me about three or four weeks to adjust... Whereas if I were to do it again, I would know exactly what to expect.' From the unseen side of washing clothes – 'We all had a laundry basket in our dressing rooms, which was filthy' – to being denied medication unless administered by a medic, Shaughna says the public often have no idea what really goes on in the villa. 'People think that you're there and you are just chilling, you're sunbathing... But I promise it's not all fun and games,' she concludes. 'It is great – and don't get me wrong, if my situation were different, I would do it in a heartbeat – but it's a shock to the system.' From heartbreak to motherhood and everything in between, Shaughna Phillips has come a long way since those first days in the Love Island villa. And as she continues to live life on her own terms, one thing is clear: she's not afraid to keep it real.
