#SHOWBIZ: HK star Amy Yip receives Malaysian award during her birthday bash
HONG KONG: Former Category III actress Amy Yip recently celebrated her 59th birthday with a glamorous party at Hong Kong's luxurious Four Seasons Hotel.
According to 8Days yesterday, the event attracted numerous high-profile guests, including actors Bowie Wu and Raymond Wong, and Daisy Yeung, chairperson of Emperor Capital Group.
Yip captivated attendees with an energetic rendition of the 1980s classic 'It's A Small World', originally performed by Priscilla Chan.
She also made a striking impression with a platinum blonde bob and a black dress, a look inspired by American pop icon Lady Gaga.
"I believe that when you're kind to others, it will come back to you. Seeing so many guests beautifully dressed to attend my birthday party, I feel so touched," she said.
Yip's Malaysian business partner, Evian Chong, managing director of Malaysian hospitality company Evians Holdings, personally presented her with the 'Most Influential Actress of the 80s Era' award.
This accolade was bestowed by the Malaysia Dato Foundation, which recognises the contributions of individuals in various fields.
Yip ventured into hotel investments after meeting Chong and launched her first boutique hotel in Penang last year.
