Langkawi gets tallest, integrated green building

DEVELOPER Tropicana Corporation Bhd unveiled Phase 3 of its latest project on Langkawi island in Kedah, while celebrating the 100% uptake of the project's first and second phases.
Tropicana Cenang consists of seafront serviced suites situated on a 2.14ha freehold land beside Pantai Cenang in Kuah.
Its first and second phases, Assana and Merissa, were topped off on July 17 and are set to be completed in 2026, according to Tropicana.
'Assana (40 storeys) and Merissa (six storeys) serviced suites offer 831 units (381sq ft to 1,310sq ft) and 60 units (1,066sq ft to 1,303sq ft duplex) respectively.
'Being fully furnished, the units are designed to elevate everyday living while embracing the spirit of connectivity, leisure and convenience with resort-style amenities and concierge services,' the developer said in the media statement.
Clarissa, Tropicana Cenang's third and final phase, was launched after Assana and Merissa's topping-off ceremony.
'At 40 storeys, Clarissa consists of 806 fully furnished serviced suites and seven beachwalk shops.
The Clarissa units range from 536sq ft to 1,356sq ft.

It is also equipped with various facilities such as a rooftop restaurant and viewing deck.
Clarissa's show unit is now available for viewing at the Tropicana Cenang & Tropicana Lagoon Property Gallery in Jalan Pantai Chenang, Langkawi.
The developer has pledged to donate to charity RM200 for every Clarissa unit sold. This is under its Cenang corporate social responsibility programme.
'We look forward to donating RM160,000 paid over three years to selected beneficiaries in the local community, including underprivileged families, primary and secondary schools, medical assistance and elderly care,' the statement said.
It added that Tropicana Cenang would be the tallest building in Langkawi.
Present at the topping-off ceremony were Tropicana chief executive officer Ong Chou Wen, managing director (marketing, sales and business development) Ixora Ang, project managing director Allan Wong, executive director (sales and marketing) Jenny Low and Langkawi senior chief assistant district officer Zulkifli Abdullah.
Wong said Tropicana Cenang, introduced in 2020, was the first integrated green building development in Langkawi.
'Tropicana has expanded its foothold in Langkawi for more than a decade.
'The island's rich geological history dates back half-a-billion years.
'Langkawi is also widely known for its duty-free status and cultural heritage.
'We have engaged with various stakeholders over the years to show our support to the community, with infrastructure enhancement and charity initiatives,' he added.
Zulkifli said Tropicana Cenang could boost Langkawi's tourism.
'We hope that with Tropicana's presence and support, we can bring Langkawi's tourism to greater heights, cementing the island's position as a top destination for holidaymakers and retirees in Malaysia.
'This will also strengthen economic growth for the local community and the businesses in this region,' Zulkifli added.
