BBC The Great British Sewing Bee stars 'so surprised' over unexpected double exit

The Great British Sewing Bee contestants were left shocked this evening as two contestants were eliminated from the competition The Great British Sewing Bee contestants were left stunned as an unexpected pair faced elimination from the competition. ‌ The BBC's cherished reality contest returned to screens on Tuesday (July 22) evening with Sara Pascoe once again taking the helm as presenter. ‌ During the second week, amateur stitchers pulled out all the stops with a series of tasks, hoping to wow judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young with their creations. ‌ Initially, the sewers tackled a technical Pattern Challenge, crafting a seven-panel cap. In the Transformation Challenge, they breathed fresh life into discarded cycling kit, transforming it into chic new pieces, reports Wales Online. Finally, for the Made to Measure round, the sewers designed an athleisure ensemble – something functional for the gym yet trendy enough for a café. ‌ The stakes were particularly high during both challenges, as two participants would be departing the programme after the judges opted against eliminating anyone the previous week due to Glendora being compelled to withdraw from the challenge owing to illness. Despite giving their utmost throughout the challenge, Saffie and Peter found themselves heading home. Breaking the news, Sara began by declaring: "Now for the difficult bit. You're all so talented, this was a really difficult decision but the two sewers leaving us this week are Saffie and Peter." ‌ The announcement clearly caught everyone off guard as they turned towards the duo and gasped, with one participant audibly remarking: "I'm so surprised". Peter, 45, confessed to the camera: "I kind of half expected to hear my name called. They were totally justified in what they said and I've learnt from them." The senior pre-construction manager added: "This is a big learning experience for me." Meanwhile, a tearful Saffie admitted: "I kind of had a feeling I was going to go because I just hadn't kept most of the challenges within time." ‌ Justifying their decision, Esme stated: "Peter, he was reflecting who he was, but it wasn't well sewn." Patrick chimed in: "Saffie, I'm disappointed because I would really like to see more from Saffie but her execution let her down." Meanwhile, Orla emerged as the top sewer after impressing the judges in both challenges. Speaking to the camera, an astonished Orla revealed: "I truly didn't expect to win it for sports, so I'm really happy. I mean, I couldn't have asked for anything better, really." Patrick added: "Orla was a very deserving winner of Garment of the Week, she absolutely nailed that athleisure brief." The Great British Sewing Bee airs on Tuesdays at 9pm on BBC One.

RTA Conducts Field Testing in China for 2025 Dubai Self-Driving Transport Challenge

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has conducted field evaluations in China as part of the 4th Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport 2025, which offers a total prize of USD $3 million. The RTA technical team visited Guangzhou, Xi'an, Guiyang, and Suzhou to observe real-world testing of self-driving technologies submitted by competing consortia. The visit had four main objectives: To carry out technical and operational assessments of autonomous vehicles based on challenge criteria and international safety standards. To evaluate each company's technology and readiness through direct observation. To inspect operational environments, including factories and control centres, and establish potential strategic partnerships. To define the next phase of the Challenge by reviewing test results and deployment readiness for Dubai. Five autonomous vehicle types were tested: a Robotaxi, two Robobuses, a Roboboat, and an autonomous logistics vehicle. RTA developed a structured methodology for the trials, which were divided into three categories: Standstill Tests: These assessed safety systems, sensor coverage, emergency response features, and mobile application integration while vehicles remained stationary. Scott Wolf's estranged wife, Kelley, claims she was ‘held against' her will while ‘trying to file for divorce'

Scott Wolf's estranged wife, Kelley Wolf, made a bombshell claim after his divorce filing. The 48-year-old claimed in a lengthy Instagram post Thursday that she was 'held against [her] will' by 'a small but very vocal group of PC ex-friends.' The 'Real World' alum, who referred to her former pals as 'The Army of Eight,' said they were 'worried about' her. 'F–k them,' Kelley continued in her lengthy caption. 'No one showed up. No one lit a candle or asked a question. They called the cops from a beach town in Florida or somewhere seaside… while sipping cocktails.' 'That's not love,' she added. 'That's control. What happened was legal. But it wasn't right. And it should never be that easy to weaponize concern — especially against women.' Since Kelley considers herself to be 'the person you call in a crisis,' she railed against her friends for 'turning on' her. The former reality star went on to clarify that even though Scott, 58, filed for divorce on June 10, she was allegedly the one to 'initiate a separation almost a year ago.' She explained, 'I've been trying to file for divorce for months, but delays with legal counsel slowed the process. Yes, the official petition came from the other party, but let the record show: I've been grieving this marriage for years.' Kelley went on to write that she is 'far past the grief' and 'well into the healing … very much so.' After gushing about how 'great' being single is, the life coach concluded, 'Don't worry about me. I'm good. I'm rested. My kids are safe. And I'm finally free.' She seemingly addressed her eight former friends in a separate upload about the 'dark … 'Control Kelley' game, writing, 'To the eight of you… BREATHE.' Scott's rep has yet to respond to Page Six's request for comment. The 'Party of Five' alum and Kelley tied the knot in May 2004, going on to welcome Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11. The MTV alum praised her estranged husband as 'one of the best fathers [she has] ever known' while announcing their breakup via Instagram earlier this month. 'This has been a long, quiet journey for me—rooted in hope, patience, and care for our children,' she wrote. In a statement of his own, Scott called his divorce filing the 'most difficult decision' of his life and asked for privacy while navigating the split. The duo have, however, continued to make headlines as Kelley was detained and hospitalized after allegedly making 'concerning' statements to family members. 'I think Scott Wolf is abusing me, and now you are abusing me more,' the 'Challenge' alum told the officers, without elaborating, in Instagram Live footage of the moment. There was a 'family fight' beforehand, according to the 911 call described in the Summit County Sheriff's Office's official report. Additionally, Utah police were called over an alleged assault by a female aggressor allegedly putting 'her hands around [a man's] neck' at their residence back in March. Upon her return from the hospital Wednesday, Kelley posted pictures from a bar.
