Less applicants in many colleges, RU extends UG admission window
Ranchi: The management of Ranchi University (RU) has extended the admission window for undergraduate courses till June 29, officials said on Friday. The window has been extended even as applications received so far this year. The admission window for UG courses in RU through the Chancellor Portal opened on May 25 and closed on Thursday. The varsity was due to publish the list of selected candidates on June 23. Now, the list will be published on July 3. The number of applications received through the portal for RU's 19 constituent and 17 minority, and the affiliated colleges was 39,300 as on Friday against the normal of 65,000 to 70,000 in the previous years. The applicants were far less than the average even though RU had included the vocational courses, which have around 7,000 seats, in the admission process. "The total number of seats to be filled up is around 47,000, including around 40,000 regular and 7,000 vocational courses. IC Markets Đăng ký Several colleges like the Tanabhagat College in Ghaghra (Gumla), Model Degree College in Bano, Women's College in Simdega and Women's College in Gumla had less than 50 applicants. Dean Student's Welfare Professor SK Sahu stated, "We opened the Chancellor's Portal after the CBSE and the Indian School Certificate class XII results. The JAC results were declared later on, so we want to give adequate time to its students for filling up the forms. We are hopeful of getting sufficient number of applicants."

Universities begin undergraduate admissions on Chancellor's Portal
1 2 Ranchi: With results of Class XII of the Central Board of Secondary Education and the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination declared and the Jharkhand Academic Council all set to follow suit in May-end, admissions for undergraduate courses in the state universities have also begun with the activation of the "Chancellor's Portal". Ranchi University (RU) officials said application forms for the courses would be accepted till June 19 and the list of selected candidates would be published by June 23. The documents attached to the applications will be verified between June 24 and June 30. According to university authorities, candidates can apply with their valid Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores and also their Class XII marks, but preference would be given to the former. The dean of students' welfare, S K Sahu, said, "The candidates have to state their choice of subjects and colleges in the application forms. In case of internet connection problems, they can also come to their respective colleges of choice where the common resource centres would help them fill up the forms. In case there is a vacancy after the first round of admissions, more applications would be invited again." It may be stated here that there are over 40,000 seats for UG courses in 19 constituent and 17 minority and affiliated colleges of the university. Similarly, the vice-chancellor of Sidu Kanho Murmu University, Vimal Prasad Singh said, "Our university will take admissions in 27 constituent and 16 permanent and temporary affiliated colleges. The students are now acquainted with online admission using the Chancellor's Portal" Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University VC Dr Tapan Shandilya said the admission exercise has started for his university as well.
