River Island's Chanel-inspired cardigan in trending colour of the season is set to fly off shelves

If you're looking for a chic layer to add to your transitional wardrobe, River Island has just dropped a Chanel-inspired cardigan in a trending butter yellow shade Chanel-inspired cardigans became a huge trend last year, with hundreds of brands dropping their own versions of the designer-looking pieces. M&S largely led the way on this, releasing various colourways and patterns, but other retailers followed suit, including H&M, Next, and River Island. It seems that the trend is not going away anytime soon in 2025, with new styles cropping up as brands begin to transition into autumn/winter releases. And after doing our weekly scroll through the River Island website, we spotted a gorgeous Chanel-esque cardigan that we predict will be flying off the shelves. The Yellow Long Sleeve Boucle Edge Cardigan, priced at £49, is available in the trending colour of the season, butter yellow, which is why we think a sell-out is on its way. Butter yellow has been everywhere this spring and summer, and it will continue into the new season. With its classic round neck, autum weather-appropriate long sleeves, and cute button-up front, this is kind of the cardigan that you can just throw on and go and feel put together. The textured boucle trim adds a touch of luxe that is reminiscent of designer styles like Chanel, while the gold buttons have a Balmain feel to them. A subtle shimmer is woven through the soft acryclic blend making this the ideal cardigan for days when you want to dress up a little or elevate your simple everyday outfit. Chuck it on over jeans, tailored trousers, dresses and skirts for a comfy layer that is ideal for summer evenings when the temperature drops or transitioning into the autumn. If you're looking for a cardigan that still has that designer look, but is more appropriate for warmer weather, Marks & Spencer's Cotton Blend Textured Button Front Cropped Cardigan, priced at £36, is such a versatile piece to add to your wardrobe. Altnernatively, Lipsy's Ivory Buttoned Crew Neck Knit Cardigan, priced at £50, is a smarter style that you could dress up for work or layer of dresses at more formal events. And it still has that luxe look for a fraction of the designer price tag.

GK Barry's £89 Wimbledon sunglasses ‘look so expensive' and ‘don't get caught in your hair'

We've found where to shop GK Barry's exact Wimbledon sunglasses that 'don't get caught in your hair' and look like a designer pair without the hefty price tag GK Barry was one of many celebs to attend Wimbledon last week, and her accessory choice caught our attention. Spotted in a sleek pair of £89 sunglasses that 'look so expensive' and, most importantly, 'don't get caught in your hair,' this chic pair ticks all the boxes for sunny days. The sunglasses we're on about here are the Georgia Acetate Square Frame Sunglasses in Black from Dune, priced at £89. If you're after a pair of sunglasses that look designer without the hefty price tag, the Georgia shades are the perfect ones. With a slim silhouette and soft lilac-tinted lenses, they are the perfect balance between trendy and timeless. When investing in a pair of sunnies, it's important to think long-term about whether you're going to like them the following year. Luckily, this Dune pair are hard to get bored of. Not to mention the gold detailing on the arms elevates these a bit further, and makes them great for more formal events such as sitting courtside at Wimbledon, summer weddings or even the races. Made from lightweight acetate, they're comfortable enough to wear all day and best of all, they won't do that annoying thing where your hair gets tangled in the arms. For the rest of her look, GK opted for a Chanel-esque black and white tweed mini dress, with a matching white Chanel quilted bag and some simple gold and pearl jewellery (most likely hailing from her Abbott Lyon collection). The celebrities really aced their looks at Wimbeldon this year. From Frankie Bridge's chic pinstripe Karen Millen midi dress, currently £149.50 here to Samantha Cameron's Cefinn seersucker dress, £290 here and Louise Thompson's on-theme Lulu Guiness strawberry punnet handbag, available to rent from £5.16 a day here. And not to mention potentially the most affordable look yet from Strictly Come Dancing 's Oti Mabuse. The pro dancer headed to Wimbledon earlier last week sporting a £22 tennis dress from Tu Clothing.

Olivia Attwood's £46 boucle mini dress gets mistaken for Chanel by fans

Olivia Attwood is known for her amazing designer wardrobe, so it was no surprise when fans mistook her £46 blue boucle mini dress for a £3k designer Chanel one When it comes to designer outfits, Olivia Attwood is known for having a wardrobe full of showstopping luxury pieces. It's not unusual to see her wearing brands like Hermes, Chanel and Miu Miu on rotation, so it was no surprise that when she showed off her latest look, fans immediately assumed it was another designer look. Sharing photos from a recent Bvlgari event in a blue boucle mini dress, Olivia shared a message she'd received from a fan saying 'This dress… please don't say it's Chanel'. However her followers were in for a treat, as it turned out the dress not only wasn't designer, but it was super affordably priced at £46. She was in fact wearing the Blue Halter Neck Boucle Belted Mini Dress from high street favourite River Island, and although it was low in stock when she first posted the dress, it's now back in stock in all sizes from an XS to an XL. The dress does bear a striking resemblance to a similar Chanel boucle mini dress which is notoriously hard to get your hands on – although there is one available for £3206 on designer resale site Vestiaire Collective. However Olivia's dress is the ideal way to get the designer look on a budget, not to mention it's the perfect choice for a chic and sophisticated summer dress. The pale blue colour is flattering on all skin tones, and it has an adjustable halterneck with an open back, keeping you comfortable and breezy. It also features a detachable white belt around the waist – a nod to the Chanel version – which accentuates your figure. The A-line shape of the skirt is also great for skimming over your hips and creating an hourglass silhouette. Another alternative which pays homage to the iconic Chanel dress is this Sleeveless Tweed Cotton-Blend Mini Dress from Maje. It has a higher price point at £299, but it features some signature Chanel-esque details like tab pockets and button fastenings on the straps. To bring a little extra sparkle to the look, Freemans' Adrianna Papell Embellished Boucle Shift Dress is another great option at £84.50, with embellished gem details around the neckline. If blue isn't your colour, we also love this pale pink Miss Selfridge tailored mini dress, which features a statement satin bow at the back and is on sale down from £45.99 to £27.99 at ASOS. However, considering Olivia's River Island dress was so easily mistaken for something as luxurious as Chanel, it's safe to say it's a great pick for anyone looking to get the designer look without breaking the bank. You can shop her Blue Halter Neck Boucle Belted Mini Dress for £46 now.

New Look's £27 Chanel-inspired cardigan is ideal for summer office dressing

A lightweight cardigan is the ideal layering piece for handling office air conditioning during the summer, and New Look's new Chanel-inspired one is the perfect pick Whilst the rising summer temperatures are great news for everyone hoping for a little more sun, they can raise one major issue – how to dress for the office. With the heat meaning we need cool breezy outfits for morning commutes and after-work drinks, there's nothing worse than sitting down at your desk to find the freezing cold air con has you shivering throughout the day. A lightweight layering piece like a cardigan is the perfect compromise as you can fold it up neatly in your bag whilst commuting, and easily put it on once you get to the office to give you a little extra protection from the chill. If you're looking for a piece that's sophisticated and office appropriate, whilst still being easy to style and lightweight enough for the summer, New Look's Open Knit Button Detail Cardigan is a great choice. Despite its affordable £26.99 price tag, the New Look cardigan looks much more expensive than it is with a Chanel-inspired design that gives it a luxury look. With its relaxed, boxy fit which stops at your hips, large gold buttons up the front and decorative front pockets, it mirrors Chanel's iconic boucle jackets and knitwear, giving you a luxury look for less. The New Look Cardigan also has an open knit weave that keeps it cool and breathable, so you'll be able to get plenty of wear out of it all summer long. Although the cream option is giving us the biggest Chanel vibes, you can also pick it up in black and pale pink colourways, and they're available in sizes 6 to 22. If you want a bolder pattern, Finery London's £49 Velma Black Stripe Crochet Cardigan has a scalloped black and white striped print, with a similar rounded neckline and boxy fit. Over at Roman Originals, you can nab the Black Textured Boucle Button Knit Cardigan for £25 down from £40. It has a very Chanel-esque look with a thicker boucle weave and contrast trims, meaning you can wear it all year round. However, New Look's Open Knit Button Detail Cardigan has also been getting plenty of rave reviews from shoppers, who've given it a 4.3 star rating. One said: 'Great items for summer. Lovely quality and perfect fit.' Whilst another shopper wrote: 'Nice cardigan looking forward to wearing it when on a city break next month.' The only less than five star review said: 'Pretty and comfortable, was a little creased from packaging. I was planning to take it on holiday so I'm not sure how it would pack. It is lightweight. The buttons are pretty stiff to fasten. I did like it but returned as another one I'd ordered worked better.'
