Lottie Woad set to make pro debut at Scottish Open grouped with Nelly Korda, Charley Hull

Lottie Woad will make her pro debut this week alongside two of the biggest stars in the women's game – Nelly Korda and Charley Hull. The former top-ranked amateur turned professional last week after becoming the first to graduate from the tour's new LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway (LEAP) program. After finishing one stroke shy of the playoff at the Amundi Evian Championship, England's Woad makes her first appearance at this week's ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open and will tee off on Thursday at 8:36 a.m. local time at Dundonald Links grouped with top-ranked Korda and compatriot Charley Hull, currently No. 19 in the world. "Going to be fun couple of days," said Woad. "Obviously two players that I look up to, so it will be cool." In addition to accepting LPGA membership, Woad also became a member of the LET following her emphatic six-stroke victory at the KPMG Women's Irish Open. She's now eligible for next year's 2026 European Solheim Cup team. Woad leaves college golf with one year left of eligibility at Florida State. The sport management major was recently named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year. When asked whether she planned to continue her studies later this year or next spring, Woad said she hasn't yet decided. "I need to speak to academics on that and decide whether I want to do that," she said, "because obviously I want to put a lot of my focus into this." Rose Zhang continues to work on her Stanford degree after turning professional in the spring of 2023. Zhang has 40 units left in Palo Alto, California, and plans to take 20 in the fall and another 20 in the winter quarter, graduating in 2026. She has taken off the spring Asian swing the past two years to work on her studies. After this week's event in Scotland and the AIG Women's British Open at Royal Porthcawl in Wales, Woad's status gets her into the next string of domestic events on tour – plus Canada – and she'll make push to get into the fall's limit-field Asian swing.

Charley Hull Back in Business After Collapsing at Evian Championship

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. LPGA Tour star and fan favorite Charley Hull confirmed her commitment to the upcoming PIF London Championship. The tournament is part of the PIF Global Series, formerly known as the Aramco Team Series. This event will also mark the Englishwoman's third consecutive tournament in a three-week span, which speaks volumes for her health after collapsing during the first round of the Evian Championship last week. As you may recall, Hull managed to play 12 holes during the first round at Évian-Les-Bains, but on the third hole (the 12th of the round for her), she had to sit on the side of a bunker due to severe discomfort. She managed to finish the hole but collapsed again on the fourth tee and had to withdraw. Hours later, Hull herself explained that it was all due to a virus that had been affecting her for several days, but which coincidentally worsened on the first day of the tournament. The two-time LPGA Tour winner's return will take place next week at the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open at Dundonald Links. A week later, she will compete in the AIG Women's Open, the final major of the season, at Royal Porthcawl, Wales. The following week, Hull's schedule will include the PIF London Championship at the Centurion Club, completing three of the toughest weeks of British golf. A year earlier, she had finished second, four strokes behind current World No. 1 Nelly Korda. She also finished second in the team tournament that year. Hull has been very successful in the Aramco Team Series, now the PIF Global Series, with two wins (New York in 2021 and Riyadh in 2024) and four second-place finishes in individual tournaments. She has also achieved two other runner-up finishes in the team tournaments. This success has opened some doors for her among golf-related organizations in Saudi Arabia. Hull is currently an ambassador for Golf Saudi, an institution closely associated with the Public Investment Fund, which is also the title sponsor of the Global Series. The PIF London Championship will be the second event in the series this season. The series will then call on Houston in September, and Shenzhen, China, in November. EVIAN – England's Charley Hull said she was feeling better on July 11, one day after twice collapsing to the ground during the first round of the Evian Championship in France. After the second collapse, she withdrew from the Major. Hull said she has been bothered by a virus. 'Not the @evianchamp I was hoping for,' she posted on Instagram. 'Been struggling with a virus all week but it got the better of me yesterday... thanks to the medics who took care of me and to all those who have reached out with messages of support, it's really appreciated. Happy to say I'm feeling a lot better today, just gutted I can't play the weekend at such a fantastic tournament.' Hull, 29, was one under through 12 holes before the collapse. The Briton, ranked No. 19 in the world, was playing with world No. 4 Ruoning Yin and No. 5 Haeran Ryu. She received medical attention after going down to the grass before her tee shot and officials permitted the trailing group to play through while tending to the Englishwoman. Following a delay of about 15 minutes for treatment, the two-time LPGA Tour winner recovered to hit the tee shot but again went to the ground after completing her swing. Top stories Swipe. Select. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Charley Hull is a familiar name in golf headlines, but it's never pleasant to see her in the condition she was in at Évian-Les-Bains. The Englishwoman was unable to finish the first round of the Amundi Evian Championship due to the effects of a virus that was affecting her. A day after this unfortunate situation, the LPGA Tour star addressed her fans through her Instagram account to give them an update on her health. Fortunately, it was good news: "Been struggling with a virus all week but it got the better of me yesterday... thanks to the medics who took care of me and to all those who have reached out with messages of support, it's really appreciated." "Happy to say I'm feeling a lot better today, just gutted I can't play the weekend at such a fantastic tournament." On Thursday, Charlie Hull was forced to sit on the ground while playing the 3rd hole (12th of the day), feeling seriously unwell. Shortly after, she collapsed on the 4th tee and had to be carried off the course by medical staff. She was later airlifted to a nearby hospital. Hull had carded three birdies and two bogeys before being forced to withdraw from the Evian Championship. A week earlier, she had played in the KPMG Women's Irish Open on the Ladies European Tour, where she finished fourth with a score of 12-under. This was Hull's 13th appearance at the Evian Championship. She had made eight cuts so far at Évian-Les-Bains, but had only managed one top-10 finish, tying for third in 2022. On the Ladies' European Tour, she has played in only two events and finished in the top 10 in both. These results have caused her to drop significantly in the world rankings, where she currently sits at 19th. She started the year as World No. 8.
