Norfolk and Suffolk police sign up to missing veterans scheme
Norfolk and Suffolk police have joined a scheme that gives officers instant information about vulnerable military veterans who have gone Forcer Protocol was founded by Claire Lilly, from Essex, after her ex-husband Lance Corporal Alan Forcer took his own life in May 2020. The digitised system holds information about the veterans who have been signed up, including whether they pose a risk to themselves and where they were found if they went missing Hedges, who helped create the scheme with Ms Lilly, said: "It can take away some of the anguish when you report someone missing." Mr Hedges, a former missing children chief at the National Crime Agency, added: "The idea of the Forcer Protocol, together with similar ones for those living with dementia, is to pre-record that information, and then it is held securely and made instantly available to police at the point at which a missing person's report is made."We talk about the golden hour - the initial response - the longer it's left the further the person can travel, the more complications arise, and information and witness memories become eroded."It's really, really important to get that quick response and recover the person quickly, and give them the assistance they deserve should they be at the risk of doing, sadly what Alan did, and contemplating suicide."Ms Lilly, from Rochford, previously told the BBC that Mr Forcer had suffered from PTSD and depression after serving in Kosovo and Northern Ireland, and had been missing for three days. If you or someone you know is feeling despair or emotional distress, BBC Action Line has a list of organisations that offer advice and support. Norfolk and Suffolk police have joined 11 other forces to have taken up the have encouraged those who wish to take part to complete the Forcer Protocol details on the Safe and Found Online Ch Insp Brett Harris, at Suffolk Police, said the force was "proud to be part of the Forcer Protocol - a vital initiative that reinforces our unwavering commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals who go missing"."This protocol represents a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to protect those at risk, particularly individuals who may face unique challenges due to age, health or personal circumstances." Celebrity Catchphrase host Stephen Mulhern left red-faced after suffering a hilarious gaffe
Celebrity Catchphrase host Stephen Mulhern was left red-faced after making the ultimate slip-up on Saturday's episode of the show. The host, 48, showed a clip of the latest guess the catchphrase question which featured a coffee shop with rapidly increasing prices. As guests Jeremy Vine, Charlie Hedges and comedian Luke Kempner watched on as the prices continued to increase through the coffee shop roof, the host failed to give them the opportunity to answer. Stephen said: 'Literally, the prices have gone through the roof!' A hilariously awkward silence then fell over the studio when Stephen realised what he had done. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Then Jeremy, 60, jokingly pressed his buzzer and said: 'Sorry, what? Was that the answer?' Stephen, who was clearly in disbelief at his mistake, proceeded to nod before the studio, celebs and audience burst into laughter. He admitted: 'I have never in my life done that. In 10 years!' Luke Kempner joked: 'I was just thinking 'this is a very tricky one, if it's not that!' He then noted that the host had just bagged himself £200 for a charity of his choice. 'We've got a bit of Catchphrase history here!' Jeremy added before joking of the host's predecessor: 'Roy Walker never did that.' Stephen then managed to get his professional hat back on after the fail and proceeded with the game, which sees celebs try to win up to £50,000 for a charity of their choice. The show has proven so popular that it has just had the go-ahead for its 11th season, despite other cuts being made to rival shows on mainstream television. This has affected Stephen, whose other show, In For A Penny, was given the axe after six years. ITV commissioner Gemma John-Lewis said: 'We're delighted to announce a further series of the much-loved family favourite, Celebrity Catchphrase. 'The only show where you say what you see, the hugely popular series continues to win legions of fans and with Stephen's infectious and playful humour it's a firm favourite with our viewers.' The show first hit screens back in March 2018 and has featured many big-name contestants including Kelly Osbourne and Anton du Beke. Celebrity Catchphrase's predecessor, simply known as Catchphrase, first aired way back in 1985 when it was presented by Roy Walker. The show ran on and off until 2013 when it was revived by Stephen Mulhern.

Stephen Mulhern makes unprecedented blunder on ITV's Catchphrase
Game show host Stephen Mulhern sent celebrity contestants into hysterics with a rare blunder while hosting ITV's Catchphrase. The show, which asks contestants to identify a well-known phrase or idiom based on a short animated clip, featured Jeremy Vine, Charlie Hedges and comedian Luke Kempner on the latest episode. At one point, a clip was shown depicting pastries with escalating price tags, which are then shown bursting through the roof of the building. Narrating the clip in an effort to encourage answers, Mulhern remarked: 'Literally, the prices have gone through the roof!' However, he quickly realised that he had given away the answer in its entirety. 'Sorry, what? Was that the answer?' said Jeremy Vine, after buzzing in. 😱 @StephenMulhern makes a HUGE mistake - for the first time in 10 years! — Catchphrase (@Catchphrase) June 7, 2025 "I have never in my life done that. In 10 years!" Mulhern said, with his head in his hands. 'I was just thinking 'this is a very tricky one, if it's not that!' added Kempner, who then joked that Mulhern had taken his prize money tally up to £200. Vine remarked that the incident represented 'a bit of Catchphrase history'. Catchphrase first began in 1986 and was hosted by Irish comedian Roy Walker. He was succeeded by Nick Weir in 2000, and Mark Curry in 2002 before the series was cancelled that year. Mulhern began hosting the revival in 2012, which initially involved members of the public as contestants. Since 2018, the programme has featured celebrity contestants, who compete to win money for charity. Celebrity Catchphrase was recently renewed for an 11th series on ITV. ITV commissioner Gemma John-Lewis said: 'We're delighted to announce a further series of the much-loved family favourite, Celebrity Catchphrase. 'The only show where you say what you see, the hugely popular series continues to win legions of fans and with Stephen's infectious and playful humour it's a firm favourite with our viewers.'

Watch the moment Stephen Mulhern is left red-faced as he makes HUGE blunder on Catchphrase puzzle
STEPHEN Mulhern made the ultimate slip-up during the latest episode of Celebrity Catchphrase. The TV host was seen on Saturday in the latest episode of the gameshow favourite, joined by Jeremy Vine, Charlie Hedges and comedian Luke Kempner. 6 6 As the group got to grips with the latest game – which shows famous sayings turned into cartoons for contestants to guess – Stephen found himself slipping up. Encouraging the gang to make a guess, the encouragement resulted in him accidentally spilling the answer himself. As the clip showed a man going into a coffee shop with rapidly increasing price tags until they burst through the ceiling, Stephen declared: "Literally, the prices have gone through the roof!" The contestants then stood in silence for a second as an embarrassed Stephen clocked what he had said. Jeremy Vine eventually broke the silence, pressing his buzzer and asking: "Sorry, what? Was that the answer?" Stephen then embarrassingly nodded and burst into fits of laughter alongside the cast and studio audience. "I have never in my life done that. In 10 years!" he admitted. Luke Kempner then joked: "I was just thinking 'this is a very tricky one, if it's not that!" before declaring Stephen had won himself £200. "We've got a bit of Catchphrase history here!" added Jeremy, poking fun and adding: "Roy Walker never did that." Stephen was soon crying with laughter before eventually regaining his composure and continuing with the game. Watch as three celebs fail to work out popular Catchphrase - but would you have got it on first try? Hopefully Stephen has learned his lesson - considering the show has already been given the go-ahead for an 11th series. If the three celebrities can 'say what they see' they could get the chance to win £50,000 for their chosen charity. ITV commissioner Gemma John-Lewis said: "We're delighted to announce a further series of the much loved family favourite, Celebrity Catchphrase. "The only show where you say what you see, the hugely popular series continues to win legions of fans and with Stephen's infectious and playful humour it's a firm favourite with our viewers." It is good news for the star after his other ITV programme, In For A Penny, was shelved after six years. 6 6 6
