Largest moving NDP stage; first time Padang show expands to Marina Bay
More people will get to see this year's National Day Parade up close - from the Padang to Marina Bay. The Parade features its largest moving stage to date, and the show will extend to the waters of Marina Bay for the first time. Screens and additional stages will also bring the audience up close and personal with the action. Organisers expect some 200,000 people to be in and around the area. Kit Chan also returns to the show after 10 years, joining singer-songwriter Charlie Lim for this year's National Day theme song, "Here We Are". Singer Kit Chan reflects on grieving journey in heartfelt Instagram post after losing her mother
Singaporean singer Kit Chan took to Instagram on Thursday (Jun 12) to open up about losing her mother a month ago to the day and how she's been coping with the grief. She shared that when friends ask her how she's doing, she replies with: "I say I cry every day, but I also laugh every day. I think this is a good answer, and a good way to live. "It would be how my mum would want me to live, just like she did. Always looking for that bright spot, catching the sparkle in the dull and mundane, and always choosing joy over sorrow." Chan also shared that her 2018 song, A Time For Everything, has been a source of comfort during this period of grief and her "mantra". 'It really sums up life for me," she wrote. "It is a privilege to live a full life, and that means accepting and embracing all of it – the joys and sorrows, the gains and losses, the pleasure and the pain, and of course, the processes of living and dying.' She concluded the post with a poignant reminder: 'Everyone leaves. We who stay, hold on to the good things, and be grateful for them.'

Now, details for the main event of the year – the National Day Parade (NDP) – have been officially unveiled. When will NDP 2025 be held? This year's NDP will be held on August 9, 2025 as per usual. What is the theme of NDP 2025? NDP 2025 is themed Majulah Singapura, spotlighting Singapore's journey over the past 60 years. The logo creatively fuses '60' and 'Go' – a nod to both the country's 60th birthday and its forward-looking spirit. Where will NDP 2025 be held? For the first time, the live parade will take place not just at Padang but will extend to Marina Bay, giving more people the chance to experience the festivities. Shows at both venues will be synchronised – for example, the Red Lions' parachute descent at Padang and the naval divers' splash into Marina Bay will take place concurrently. What can I expect from NDP 2025? Marina Bay will host a brand-new floating stage for performances, along with large screens streaming the live show from Padang. There will also be interactive booths, activities and carnival vibes all around. Meanwhile, Padang celebrations will feature well-loved highlights including the state flag flypast and presidential gun salute.
