Che Revels in the Rockstar Life on 'REST IN BASS'

Summary As today's age of underground rappers continues to find (and champion) its collective footing in the grand scheme of contemporary hip-hop,Chehas cemented himself as one of the leading torchbearers of the new guard. With his sophomore albumREST IN BASSout now, the 18-year-old Atlanta rapper has, in total, racked up two studio albums, three extended plays, a mixtape, and, of course, a handful of high-octane and even higher-decibel bass-banging singles;REST IN BASSis a proper reckoning of the rising star's sky-high capabilities and the possibilities that lie at the crux of his full potential as a pioneering voice in the underground space. An anthemic ode to Che's current rockstar life,REST IN BASSarrives after months of speculation surrounding its release. After all, Che's on no one's time but his own. Ultimately defined by its blown-out beats and braggadocious lyrics,REST IN BASSis the epitome of rage-rap in the post-SoundCloud era. It's equal parts hedonistic and chaotic, with hidden lines of introspection that are quickly buried by repetitive bars of Che reminding us who he is: 'I feel it in my chest, I'm the best,' 'I'm like Macho Man Randy Savage,' and 'I'm a hellraiser' included. While primarily a solo effort, Che does enlist the likes of fellow underground iconsxaviersobased,Chuckyy, and, as the album's most anticipated feature,OsamaSonon standout track 'HELLRAISER.' 1. Sarimah Ibrahim denies demand for hefty pay for TV dramas

13 Jun - Che Puan Sarimah Ibrahim recently dismissed the rumour that she is asking for a hefty fee per episode for any TV project due to her status as a wife of a royalty. The 47-year-old actress recently stated that people should be asking her, instead of speculating on something she never said. "I hope people can get to know me and ask me first before making their own speculation. I am still a working artiste... Because of my status, people think that I charge a hefty fee of RM10,000 per episode. This is false and they never asked me themselves," she said. Sarimah, who is married to Negeri Sembilan royalty, Tunku Nadzimuddin Tunku Mudzaffar, said that she never asked for a large sum when it comes to her work. "Maybe there are people who asked that on behalf of me, but I never asked that much," she said. The actress was last seen on TV playing the lead in the drama, "Ternyata Sebuah Bahagia". Sarah Jessica Parker Shares Reaction to Learning Fans Didn't Like ‘And Just Like That' Character Che

Sarah Jessica Parkeradmitted she was surprised to learn that fans didn't like And Just Like That…character Che Diaz, played by Sara Ramirez. While speaking to The Guardian on June 6, Sarah, 60, said she had no idea that so many fans didn't like the controversial nonbinary character until a friend brought it up to her. "A friend of mine brought it up to me, and it's like: 'What are you talking about?'" she recalled. "And he said: 'Yeah, there's all this conversation.' I've been an actor for 50 years, and I've almost never paid attention to peripheral chatter." Sarah added that she "loved working with" Sara, 49, who is also nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns. It was revealed in February 2024 that Sara would not return as standup comic Che after appearing on And Just Like That… for the first two seasons. Shortly after the show's debut in 2021, Che quickly became a meme and the butt of the joke among many viewers. The Grey's Anatomy alum reflected on the backlash while speaking to Variety in June 2022. "Other people's opinions of a character - that's not something I can allow into my process," they said. "I choose what I receive, right? That's the beauty of being grown - I don't have to receive everything!" Che was romantically involved with original Sex and the City character Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon), while they also worked on a podcast with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker). In addition to discussing the backlash surrounding Che, Sarah also reflected on Sex and the City's popularity among Gen Z. "It's curious, because their lives are so different – the language they use around dating is different," she told The Guardian about the younger generation. "They're less patient. They're more punitive. They're not as forgiving of people's shortcomings. I'm not condemning it, it's just what I've heard. So it's really interesting that they feel so spirited about it." One topic that the younger viewers have strong opinions on is Carrie's relationship with Mr. Big (Chris Noth). The couple dated on and off throughout the original series, and they faced several obstacles before they wed during the first Sex and the City movie in 2008. Big eventually died during the season premiere of And Just Like That… The relationship has faced backlash, with many viewers believing that they didn't have a healthy dynamic. "It doesn't mean they aren't objecting to Big and Carrie's relationship, or the way he treated her, or choices Carrie made," Sarah continued about the younger fans' views of the show. "But people had those strong feelings back then, too." When asked if she was disappointed by any of the original show's plot lines, Sarah admitted that viewers could sometimes be "disheartened" by seeing what the characters went through. "But the show is also about finding home and contentment, whatever home means to you," she continued. "I feel that 20- and 30-year-olds should be searching. There should be something in the distance that's important and exciting, and worth the wait. Part of it is rather dreary that great women of all ages are still incredibly frustrated by the dating scene, but I also see a lot of happy endings." Copyright 2025 A360 Media. All rights reserved.

Which Cast Members Are Not Returning for ‘And Just Like That' Season 3? Who's Not Coming Back

And Just Like That... returns for season 3 minus several key cast members who have been with the show since the first episode. Life & Style reveals which costars aren't coming back and the reasons behind their departures. Sara Ramirez is not coming back to the show as nonbinary comedian and podcaster Che Diaz, even though they have been with the show since season 1. Similarly, another two-season regular, Karen Pittman, won't be back to reprise her role of law professor Nya Wallace. The Grey's Anatomy alum and showrunner Michael Patrick King "felt that that character had run its course," AJLT star and Sex and the City alum Cynthia Nixon told Variety in May 2024. Cynthia's Miranda Hobbes fell for Che in season 1, causing her to split from husband Steve Brady, played by David Eigenberg. Che and Miranda's romance blossomed throughout the season as Miranda explored her sexuality. Season 2 saw Che suffer a major career downturn after their comedy pilot didn't get picked up. They went back to working in a veterinarian's office and the podcast they cohosted with Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw was cancelled after the studio was shut down. Che's romance with Miranda also came to an end, after the intensity of being involved so deeply in each other's lives took a toll. That left Sara without much to do on the show, as their character's ties to both Carrie and Miranda were no longer there going into the third season. 'One of the things that it meant was that Miranda was single again, and that the tensions between Miranda and Che, and also Miranda and Steve, had been quelled and quieted," Cynthia told E! News on May 28, 2025, about her character finally being free of any partner heading into season 3 of AJLT. "Just speaking for Miranda, it meant that she was setting out on this new dating world, having decided she wanted to date women and nonbinary people, but not really quite knowing how to go about that," the New York native added. Karen's busy schedule didn't have room for her to return as Miranda's former law professor and close pal, as she was shooting Apple TV+'s The Morning Show season 4 and the Netflix's series Forever during AJLT's season 3 production. 'It has been a joy to have Karen Pittman play the smart and stunning Professor Nya Wallace on the first two seasons of And Just Like That. As we have thoroughly enjoyed working with this dynamic actress, so too have others," a spokesperson for HBO told multiple outlets on March 22, 2024. They noted that 'it has become apparent that filming three shows at once isn't possible.' 'Due to the production realities, we are disappointed to announce that scheduling conflicts will not allow us to continue with this character as part of season 3 of And Just Like That. Karen and Nya will be missed, and her Max family and fans will all be cheering her on in her other endeavors," the streaming service added. The character of Nya had been left at somewhat of a dead end after season 2. Miranda had long left her brief return to college in the professor's classes to take a job as a human rights lawyer, so the pair only had social interactions. Nya's marriage broke down after she and her husband were unable to come to a decision about children, and season 2 saw the character exploring dating life while somewhat adrift from the rest of the AJLT cast. Kim Cattrall's cameo in the AJLT season 2 finale was a one and done. She thrilled Sex and the City fans by reprising Samantha Jones one last time in the episode that aired on August 24, 2023. Samantha called Sarah Jessica's Carrie Bradshaw to let her know her flight from London was running late and she was going to miss the former sex columnist's goodbye dinner at her longtime New York City apartment. The characters had a brief but pleasant chat after having several text exchanges during season 1 of the SATC revival. Kim shot her scene separately and was never face to face with SJP or other cast members. The Glamorous star had gone on the record numerous times that she was done playing Samantha for good when SJP tried to get a third SATC movie off the ground in 2017. The How I Met Your Father star said she wasn't asked back by AJLT executive producer and star Sarah to take part in the reboot, which the Hocus Pocus star confirmed.
