Chef-O-Nette reopens Upper Arlington restaurant
UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (WCMH) — A local restaurant that closed down temporarily in 2024 is now welcoming customers again after management changes and renovations. Chef-O-Nette at 2090 Tremont Center reopened to the public in June after undergoing several renovations to the restaurant, according to a social media post. Business operations were taken over by Michael Purdum in early 2024 from Harlan Howard. Howard had been in the business with family since 1972, according to the company website. Columbus Zoo's Lantern Festival to feature mythical creatures and more The restaurant first opened in 1955, serving a variety of food, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. Chef-O-Nette also has its history of being one of the first drive-thrus in the nation, according to its website. From its post in 2024, the restaurant mentioned its goal of keeping the eatery's 'vintage look' while making the necessary updates. Those changes included a new HVAC system, remodeled restrooms, new carpet and upholstery and more. With its reopening, Chef-O-Nette mentioned that customers can expect to see some familiar items on its menu, like the 'Hangover' and its classic milkshakes, along with some new additions. Coffee shop serving pastries and desserts opens in Grove City
GROVE CITY, Ohio (WCMH) – A coffee shop serving pastries and desserts recently opened its doors in Grove City. Pick'em Up Joe Coffee Co. began welcoming customers at 3989 Broadway in the Grove City Business Center on July 2. Owned by the Thrash family, the coffee shop is named after their basset hound, Joe. Chef-O-Nette reopens Upper Arlington restaurant 'Opening week was everything we hoped for and more,' the business shared on social media. 'Your support blew us away, and we're so thankful to serve this amazing community. We're just getting started, and we can't wait to keep building something special together!' The new shop marks the brand's second brick-and-mortar location. The concept debuted as a coffee trailer in Pickaway County in 2022, before evolving into a standalone restaurant at 5 Main St. in Commercial Point in 2023. The shop serves a variety of coffee, tea and matcha. Its menu features pastries, including cinnamon rolls, coffee sheet cake and muffins. Sweet and savory kolaches — puffy pastries with filling — are also available. The storefront additionally serves sweets such as ice cream sandwiches, cold brew floats and affogato, an Italian dessert consisting of gelato topped with espresso.
