Short-termination of Karaikal-Tiruchi-Karaikal DEMU extended
The Southern Railway has announced that the short-termination of Karaikal-Tiruchi-Karaikal DEMU services (76819/76820) by six days till July 7 in view of the maintenance work carried out at different sections in the Tiruchi Railway Division.
According to an official release, the DEMU (76819), which is scheduled to leave Karaikal at 2.55 p.m., will commence its journey from Tiruvarur junction at its scheduled time of 4.15 p.m. between July 2 and 7.
In the return direction, the DEMU (76820) will leave Tiruchi at 8.35 a.m. and will be terminated at Tiruvarur between July 2 and 7. The Karaikal-Thanjavur Passenger service (56817), which leaves Karaikal at 1 p.m., will be regulated for 30 minutes at a convenient location enroute between July 2 and 7.
The Chennai Egmore-Tiruchi Cholan Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 7.45 a.m., will be regulated for 15 minutes for three days from July 2, the release added.
