Restaurant crowned country's best with top award win
An award-winning restaurant has added yet another accolade to its name.
The inaugural British Curry Championships has named the best Indian restaurants across the country.
The awards aim to celebrate the top curry chefs, restaurants and takeaways in the UK.
Chequers Indian Lounge took home the award for Curry Team of the Year.

The restaurant won Curry Team of the Year (Image: Kois Miah) The Great Blakenham restaurant serves meals inspired by ancient spice routes and aims to give diners a glimpse of India's culture and cuisine.
Guests can choose to dine in or take away their meals with menus including tandoori specialities, regional dishes and the chef's signature dishes such as Royal Bengal Roshni.
It is owned by Nasir Jilani, who also runs the award-winning Jilani in Sudbury.
The British Curry Championships is not the first time Chequers Indian Lounge has won a national award.

Nasir Jilani, owner of Chequers Indian Lounge (Image: Chequers Indian Lounge) Earlier this year, it won Outstanding Restaurant of the Year in the Nation's Curry Awards and is a finalist in the English Curry Awards taking place in August.
Speaking previously, Mr Jilani said it was an "exceptional honour" to be up for many national awards.
He added he hopes to bring home even more awards with "continued dedication from both staff and the customers."
Irfan Younis, a spokesman for the British Curry Championship, said: "These awards provide a platform to applaud the exceptional efforts of those who have made significant contributions to the curry sector and continue to elevate the nation's love for curry."
